10/22/06 College Park Regionals Report
Yesterday was a blast! Well, the details for the most part are lost, deep inside the room of all forgotten thing. However, I do remember what decks I was playing against and have the scores. I wake up at 7, take shower, brush teeth, apply deodorant, etc. I go get some Dunkin Doughnuts and ride for 40 min. before I get there. I caught up w/ some of my friends and playtested w/ my friend's Chimeratech OTK fun deck. When the tournament starts, I have to play this little kid. Not tht I underestimate little kids, but the kid had no side deck or anything so I had to assume this.
Round I: Joshua Munoz vs. Ryan Levine
He was playing D-Hero, so I wasn't worried.
Game I: Me- 8k
Him- 71, 56, 25, 0
Game II: Me- 61, 53, 4550
Him- 61, 46, 18, 0
1-0 BTW, sorry if I spell any name's wrong.
Round II: Joshua Munoz vs. Joseph McKay
He was playing some weird stuff, but almost beat me Game II w/ two Wave-Motion Cannon but beat him down before he blew.
Game I: Me- 64, 62
Him- 59, 22, 0
Game II: Me- 77
Him- 77, 74, 4k, 0
2-0
Round III: Joshua Munoz vs. Allan
I think he was playing Monarch Control, but game one was like this: He plays Enemy Controller, loses Cyber Dragon, takes my Jinzo, plays Last Will, Stein for game .
Game I: Me- 8k, 0
Him- 56
Game II: 7k, 65, 6k, 5k
Him- 65, 62, 38, 14, 0
Game III: Me- 7k, 55, 16, 1, 0
Him- 64
2-1
This match was my actual awakening to today's tournament. You know how they(who I've nevr wuite known who "they" are) say that you can't truely understand it until you physically experience it? Well, I physically experienced being beaten by the random Stein for the first time. So, I search out trying to get one no matter what and finally find a guy trading it. He takes a quick look into my binder and told me he'd do it for my Airknight and Granmarg. YAY! This officially made my day, but I couldn't lose another duel in hopes of top8ing.
Round IV: Joshua Munoz vs. LO(this is how he described his name)
I forgot what this guy was playing, but I 2-0 him
Game I: Me- 56, 53, 46
Him- 72, 30, 24, 0
Game II: Me- 7k
Him- 56, 39, 0
3-1
Round V: Joshua Munoz vs. R(Again, this is how he described his name)
I think he was playing Stein OTK... I love playing this and/or Recruiter because I beat them pretty easily unless your my friend Mike, lol.
Game I: Me- 59, 43, 35
Him- 77, 56, 6, 0
He Steins me, I'm at 35 and he's 6. I topdeck Preamture Cyber Dragon and attack Stein FTW.
Game II: Me- 66, 61
Him- 5k(Stein), 36, 0
4-1 Wow, my second regionals and I'm doing pretty good and got my trade of the day.
Round VI: Joshua Munoz vs. Jason
I believe he was playing Chimeratech OTK, which I had a good chance of winning since I had been playtesting against it all day. Well, I lost because he would win at the most unexpecting times.
Game I: Me- 56, 48
Him- 43, 35, 14, 0
Game II: Me- 7k, 62, 57, 53, 19, 0
Him- 69
Game III: Me- 77, 64, 56, 35, 0
Him- 68, 6k, 48, 38
4-2 this sucks cause I really didn't think that any 6-2's would sneak into the top8, but I was in a good mood and wan't to didn't want to screw my opponents tiebreakers(I'm a good person, ). So, I go on.
Round VII: Joshua Munoz vs. Maul
I swear, the only reason I won Game I was because he kept forgetting to sp. summon Treeborn Frog for Monarch's, lol.
Game I: Me- 77
Him- 56, 29, 17, 0
Game II: Me- 76, 73
Him- 7k, 33, 1, 0
5-2 Ok, I dunno if it was this match or another, but one of my friends got threatened he would get jumped by his opponent cause he accidentally drew 2 cards instead of one. Like any other 11 year-old kid who's dad is in the same regionals, he goes and talks to him about and I can tell he's scared so I'm pissed. His dad goes over to the kid and takes im other to his son and asks the kid what happened and said he'll go out and kick the opponent's @$$! Well, a judge came over and things straightened out. I had to win my next match for my friend!
Round VIII: Joshua Munoz vs. Gan(I think this was his name)
I was at table 21 and dueled against this kid who I saw ealier playing. He was playing Recruiter! This was great cause my deck smashes Recruiter's in the face... well, I win 2-0
Game I: Me- 66, 42, 38
Him- 7k, 58, 42, 13, 0
Game II: 66, 64, 63
Him- 78, 62, 59, 35, 0
So, I went 6-2 and in the end got 35th. I was happy and had a great experience... only problem is... I NEED CYBER END DRAGON!!! Lol, I also need Gatling Dragon, so if you got' em for trade, please PM me. Till next time...
Prop's-
Going 6-2
Getting Stein for Airknight and Granmarg
JD for getting me to think up on my toes in the regionals.
Having a great time
Meeting some old friends and making some new ones
Con's-

Good job for going x-2...
your tie breaker was pretty low if you finish 35th ..(did you get a prize or was it only for the top 30)

Yeah, that was me, Alan. Well I'm glad I inspired you to get a Cyber-Stein, in a way I guess. I have to admit that was a pretty fun match. If I didn't topdeck that Cyber Dragon you would've definitely beaten me. I remember you because you got that lone King Tiger Wanghu on me. To tell you the truth I thought I'd see that more then, but I didn't. Hopefully I'll be able to go to the regional in December. I have to admit that was one interesting Regional besides the fact of little kids saying how "wet" Stein is.

Hey, man. That topdecked Cyber Dragon was beautiful! How'd you do? Anyways, I'm trying to see if I cnan go December. Also, yeah R was a big black dude. I looked like a 13 year-old w/ a kinda tight jacket and a red nose. Andrew, it was cool meeting you, I wanted you to sign one of my Des Lcooda but forgot to ask

Uhh, this is kinda the wrong thread to be asking that, but what the heck. Right now, it's the following: Cyber Stein OTK, Warrior Toolbox, Monarch Control, and Beatdown(Correct me if I'm wrong). But, if you want to go w/ the stall-control decks, there ok too. Plus there cheap, this is a basic list of them: Clockwork Control, PACMAN, Tundo OTK, and Reversal Quiz OTK. Clockwork Control's a little too unstable right now to be viable(i went 4-4 at a regionals w/ it ); PACMAN can get horrible hands put when it goes off, it's nice(I teched Robbin' Goblin in mine for extra hand control for when they got an empty field); basically Tundo OTK's opening hand will tell you if you're going to lose or not and you should win on turn 1 or 2. And Reversal Quiz OTK, I don't like.

Why wouldn't you? Sure come up here on Dec. 17, just please don't play Skill Drain as I can assure you there not very competitive on the big event scene. Also, bjof45, why are you happy PACMAN didn't make 10th? Kinda random, although I actually kinda like the deck. It's just we could use some better and/or bigger flip-flop's.

It did deal with the threat with Chaos Sorcerer. But now it can hurt Monarchs pretty bad and just about any tier deck out there. Only threat it faces is Monarch/Macro decks. Hellish.

Thanks, maybe I'll come by next Saturday. Also, that's cool PACMAN made top10 as I have a love for the deck(but don't have enough of the flip-flops ). Sorry, I didn't mean to flame Skill Drain or anything, it's just I've never really lost to one.

Good job! I was running Dark World and missed T-8 due to tiebreakers..
I had 4 people drop after the 4th-5th round that I faced, which screwed me.
My 2 sons were running Zombie (6-2) and CHimeratech (4-4).
