E-Hero Top 8 Report
That's right, you read the title correctly. This is my tournament report where I bring an E-Hero deck to the Top 8. Say what you will about my metagame but I'm proud of myself. As a special treat, if you read the whole thing, you may even be rewarded with a decklist =o!
Well the night before I'm hanging out with my friend Cameron and I'm testing my version of Lazarro's SC and I'm bored to death. We're splitting our matches in terms of wins but I swear I'm falling asleep as we play (maybe it's the fact that it's 2...). Well he says if I'm so bored maybe I should run E-Heroes. Since I already have my invite I decide to take him up on his suggestion. He tells me that if I Top 8 he'll give me 50 dollars but if I don't I have to buy him dinner. I agree, break open my n00b ripping binder and bust out the E-Heroes.
Cam drives because he said "An idiot running E-Heroes to regs is in no state to drive." Well I get there, pick up a few need fusions and duel NO ONE! My deck is my little secret. After refusing about my 5th duel request round pairings are up.
Round One: Jordy vs Bobby Chris
Game One: He wins the roll and sets a monster and ends. I NoC his f/d and it's Clayman xD! My first duel of the day and I'm facing a mirror match. Well I win in a few seconds and don't even summon a fusion.
Game Two: I start with Con and discard Grace, gg.
1-0
Cam played DW and pwnd. we're both 1-0 going into Round 2. Cam decides if I win again he's going to start telling everyone about the undefeated E-Heroes.
Round Two: Jordy vs Alex Chong
Game One: He wins the die roll and opens with Con. He sees E-Heroes and immediantly assumes I'm a n00b, he discards King of the Swamps instead of Merchant because he's the n00b. I completely outplay him with warrriors and without a single fusion again. His fault for assuming me a n00b.
Game Two: Well he's smarter now and doesn't over-extend like an idiot. Looks like he sided Hydros and he pwns the hell out of Wildheart Sangan. Next turn I Miracle Fusion to Wildedge and pwn Hydros. I win soon after.
2-0
So I won and Cam starts telling the story of an undefeated E-Hero. Alex tells him team about a lucksacking Hero.
Round Three: Jordy vs Evan Thams
Game One: Well it looks like I'm playing the roll of a sack this game, I open with Con and discard his only playable monster. Shining Flare Wingman and Wildedge kill him quick.
Game Two: He opens Con to Grace sets one of each. I set one of each, he dusts and NoCs and attacks with Zaloog+Reaper then Drop Offs my next draw, GG.
Game Three: I'm really proud of this one. It was late game he was 141ing me and I was getting advantage back via fusions. It's 1200-1500 him up and he has a Zaborg and a f/d trap and a f/d monster. I have f/d Decree and a Clayman in hand. I draw and top Miracle Fusion! I active it and start to think. I can get almost any fusion in my deck besides Shing Flare Wingman. I think and think and I decide I'm a genius. I look at his graveyard and get Elemental Hero Necroid Shaman. Kill Zaborg, get him his faith attack and active Decree on Saku, GG.
3-0
Cam is also undefeated and is using his free time to spread the word of an undefeated E-Hero. People are starting to talk.
Round 4: Jordy vs Zachary Smith
Game One: This kids about 10 and he's running Jensen. I find it hilarious that I'm running a 10-year-old deck and he's running a 16-year-old deck. Well we start off I get him down quickly via 2 Shining Flares on two Zaborg but he mounts a counterattack and I get down pretty low. My last possible turn I top Merchant. He doesn't draw a monster and just attacks Cyber into Merchant, Merchant kills the needed Clayman and gets me Miracle Fusion. Next turn I activate it and get Rampart Blast ftw.
Game Two: It gets drawn out with him not being able to kill Blaster until the last possible minute and then him killing me with all his traps because I can't draw Decree.
Game Three: Time is called with him up by 300 and i Miracle to Shining Flare Wingman, GG.
4-0
Cam wins again cause he's pro and I can't believe an E-Hero is freaking 4-0. Now about everyone in the convention hall knows about me and my name, this means I gained faim and lost the surprise factor.
Round 5: Jordy vs Johnathan Ordower
Game One: First thing out of his mouth is "Of ****, I'm dueling the E-Hero dude." Well he has all the answers, he zigs when I Zag and Bottomless's when I summon and then MST when I Decree.
Game Two: We start playing defensive and then I go +3 with Wildedge, gg.
Game Three: He sides in burn because we're running low on time. Time is called and I'm up but 1200. He Poisons twice, gg.
4-1
Cam wins again but he's really sad because I lost. The hall is settling down and people have decided I lucksacked my way to 4-0.
Round 6: Jordy vs ???
Game One: Ok, pissed off and my notes on this match are all scribbles. Looks like I go super aggro and kill him with massive fusions in 5 minutes.
Game Two: See Game One
5-1
Cam finally lost to stein =(. But I'm feeling better about myself but the hall has already counted me out.
Round 7: Jordy vs Alexander Darko
Game One: He's running what looks like a Swap Deck. I'm extra careful because the last thing I need is facing one of my own fusions. I remember having to Ring my own Shining Flare so he doesn't get it. I take this one but barely.
Game Two: He gets too much advantage too fast and takes the only fusion I can get out.
Game Three: He gets one of the downfalls of a Swap Deck, a horrible hand. He can't do **** with his Swaps and Last Will and I take this one quickly.
6-1
Cam wins again and came to watch the end of my match. He's happy again and gets the whole hall fired up. There is a huge crowd around my next match.
Bubble Match: Jordy vs Mathew Willis
Game One: Ironically enough I'm dueling a Lazarro SC. This is the duel that'll show if I made the right decision running E-Heroes at this event. Well the game is going back and forth, Cyber kills Sparkman, Thunder Giant kills Cyber, Thest tries to Suicide I Rush, Zab kills Giant. In the end I have Rampart Blast out and its 1800-700. He tributes Reaper for Zaborg and I have a f/d Decree gg. There is groaning and "I told you so's" from the audience.
Game Two: Wildedge goes crazy on his Thest and attack mode Reaper. Fusions and Decree rampage through his Monarchs.
Game Three: This is it, this is for all the bananas. The whole croud is cheering me on and I'm ready for a fight. He take advantage early via SC + Monarchs on my Merchants. But have no fear! The MVP Hero of the day came to save me. Wildedge tears through his Monarchs and I My Body him to keep him alive. I win with Wildedge killing Recruiters.
7-1
Everyone is crazy. An E-Hero has Top 8d! A MOTHER ******* E-HERO HAS TOP 8D! Well the ranking are up and I'm ranked #4 and Cam is #3, a rush of adrenaline goes through my body. Then I see I'm facing the guy who beat Cam...
Top 8, Round 1: Jordy vs Eduardo Herandez
Game One: He steins me turn three...
Game Two: I side standard and get him below 5000 quick with Shining Flare.
Game Three: He steins me turn five...
Well I lost in the Top 8 but I accomplished what I came to do, I Top 8d with E-Heroes. Cam came in second losing to Random Stein game three, its too bad but still a great showing. I get my packs and I full one of those rare D-Heroes... I wonder what I'm running next regs.

This guy has got to be the Jaden Yuki of the real world, except not lucksacking every game :D
GJ, this proves that E-Heros can win, if played by the right people and in the riught deck.

Fantastic!! I am EXTREMELY Impressed by this.
My Sixth Guide works on Competitive E-Heroes and has a lot of similarities to this deck.

Wow that deck looks almost exactly like my ehero deck I was playing on yvd except I used Light Hex Sealed Fusions instead of the King of the Swamps. Good job on the top 8 tho, quite funny.

This guy = pro..... Elemental Heros, ftw!
But I do have some questions....
Does Future Fusion even work with Fusion subs?
Does Miracle Fusion work with Fusion subs in the graveyard?
