My SJC Austin tourney report

***LONG TOURNEY REPORT, GRAB A DRINK AND SOME SNACKS. ENJOY =D**
Ok, So anyways I get up at 4 in the morning and head to ATX, Sadly the rest of my teams ride bailed so they couldent make it >.>..At least we still got a team profile

and I got in the scrub brush.

So anyways, I have a monarch deck with apprentices, banishers and decrees rdy for the tourney, but Iam like...arg..I dont wanna run cc...even though it was alittle different...so I take it apart literaly 15 minutes before the jump started...lmao >< I decide I wanna try out something with Sasuke Samurai #2 but I cant get any flying kamakari's...so then I consider running my earth/zombie deck that I ran at the start of the format and with like 10 minutes left I decide to just go with that...but then chris stops by and hands me 2 flying kamakaris...so I make a standard monarch deck with decrees and kamakaris with SS #2....Anyways the trick with this deck is to set up tributes and have a safe turn to atk...like they atk kamakari, u get out #2..on your turn pay 800 so no s/t can be played that turn, then u sack for something like airknight or zabby or w/e and get a free turn to atk and stuff...or u can sack for mobius and be like >.> hahahaha no bottomless/bom/econ/tt/ring for u

..or u can go for the final swing with it... (PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PART) so I make my deck and ask my friend cj what he thinks of it..hes like 3 enemy controllers?? wears the swaps, this deck is asking for swap, take out a econ for a swap...I dont really want to because I hate swap sooo much now because of many bad experiences with it including top decking pot of avarice in a dier situation and using it to only drw into 2 swaps!!, but sincecj's a pretty good player and Ive got like 2 mins til the player meetin starts I take his advice and take out a econ for a swap.. so I hurry and fill out my deck list and get it done on time.

Round 1: Me Vs Some like gothic guy with big holes in his ear lobes that one could probably put their fingures through...>.> ewww...
*Ok..I know its not cool to judge someone by how they look, but...I think to myself If I lose to this guy I think Iam gonna quit yugioh XD*
Game 1. Hes running basic cookie and I end up 2-0ing him so no worries =)

Round 2: Me Vs A white emo kid.......XD\
Game 1. ...well this is rediculous...Iam running only 5 traps...2 of which are decrees and I manage to still get sacked by jinzo...wtf!!!!
Game 2. I run over him easily and move to game 3.
Game 3. Ok....this guy decides to be newb and steins me on turn 2....but not ftw...he just summons stein, pays for twin and beats up my lp but Iam still alive..my turn I drw...he has 1 backrow card..a stein and a twin and hes at 3000 lp...now heres the funny part...IN MY HAND I HAVE A TOMATO, STORM AND A SWAP ALONG WITH SOME OTHER UNHELPFUL STUFF...U SEE THAT?? SWAP....IF THAT WAS A ECON I WOULD OF HAD GAME OMG!!!!..so i storm his set force..use tomato to hit stein..then swap it...but unfornuatly he ends up doing some crap with his enemy controller (how ironic..) and I lose.....ghetto swap...
Ok after this I go and ***** slap cj....not rly but u get the picture....So me, CJ, VJ and Namen rush to eat at wendys..but with such a small lunch break we eat in the car, get back on time then their like "lunch has been extended 30 minutes"....no comment...

Round 3: Me Vs Some guy..(Will I ever remember my opponents names ><)
Game 1. I dunno..its a blurr but I lose >.>
Game 2. Heres my opening hand..**Mobius, Zaborg, Airknight, Heavy Storm, MST**..amazing....XD..whats even more amazing is I manage to come out of it!!! for some reason he decides not to atk my monster I top in mid game and sets a monster (which is a night assailant and hes intending to blow up my facedown a turn later XD...misplay anybody??) So I flip Old vindictive then tribute..after this I start gettin some good top decks with a spy and such and I start bustin out all my tributes and overwhealm him.
Game 3. I run over him.
*This guy was a great sport and we talked for awhile after the match, I sorta felt bad for him being x-2 after 3 rounds, but he didnt seem to mind and was still positive, I think he finished the tourney with a X-3 record or something, not sure, but anyways he was a pretty cool guy*

Round 4: Me vs Alan...no wait..Alex...eh maybe Adam...ug...no name yet XD ..maybe I should wright these down...hmm I could go check metagame actually...bah Iam too lazy =P.
Game 1. I win
Game 1. I win
*Nothing special this game*

Round 5: Me Vs My friend VJ
*Ok, this really sucks....this isnt even a local and we still had to play..sigh XD..were both X-1 so the loser wont make top 8 for sure..*
Game 1. He confos me, sets faith, next turn confo again...I got mobius..airknight and zaborg in hand...(like during the whole tourney my tributes get stacked for some reason..wtf)..so I lose
Game 2. He cant do much so I beat him.
Game 3. He still cant do too much so I win again.
*It sucked I had to play VJ ><...*

Round 6: Me Vs Some guy..
Game 1. It comes down to this..he has me at 3900..and I have myself at 4200...he trys to cheat me out of 300 lp...which would make the differnece cuz he has 2 spys, a breaker, a frog and he brains my goat leaving me with 1 so he was goin ftw...Hes usin paper and Iam usin calculator but I like never make mistakes..so anyways we get a judge and we look at the hand wrighting..Iam like look that looks like a 4500 not 4200 so minus 300 would be 4200 not 3900...I dont know what the judge is thinkin but hes like..sorta looks like a 2 to me..OMG..I appeal to simon...He does what he does and what not..basicaly after like 35 minutes he just can prove where I took "300" more dmg So it was ruled in my favor..so he was at 600...iam at 200, next turn summon my in hand tomato and atk his frog ftw!
Game 2. Iam in control during the beginning of the game and I dont know what happens but he just starts rippin things I cant handle so I lose XD
Game 3. Iam in control again and get him down to 400 and Iam at 5600..judge calls time on our extended time and I win.
*THIS MATCH WAS TERRIBLE, Man after this my legs are like sore cuz I was sitting in the same position for like a hour and twenty minutes XD...Now iam feeling alittle tired and stuff ug, at least Iam 5-1 =D"

Round 7:Me Vs Juan Deleon (HAHAHA I remembered a name =P)
Game 1. I draw the most ugly hand ever, 3 cybers, 2 spys and next card is a reaper XD....so I end up being easy prey for stein.
Game 2. I play my cards as best I can, but In the end he comes out ahead and wins.
*This guy was also pretty cool so I dont mind this loss even though Iam definatly not making top 8 now..but theirs still the hat =D*

Round 8: Me Vs some guy..
ehh I dont remember excatly but Iam foolin around since I cant top 8 anymore and I lose 1 of the first 2 games and win 1 so we go to game 3.
Game 3. Well I win because he made some bad side deck choices...first he had a mobius when zaborg would of really helped him more in his situation..which he sided out XD..basically alittle more of these "side deck" decisions which made him lose..

Round 9: Me Vs Bobby Williams
Game 1. Iam in control and hes top decking..he drws..sets a card to his back row...its my turn and Iam debating on weither to tribute for airknight or not...I think to myself...ok what are the odds that he would have top'd torrential?? I tell my self its a bluff and summon airknight...he flips torrential and thats that...from then on he drws what he needs and wins. (yea that was a missplay on my part...but Iam sorta out of it at this time so..)
Game 2. In the end, he has the better cards and wins.
*Blah....I dont like the fact that I lost to the guy everybody calls a "Dark World Burinin Luckacking Newb.."..But hes actually a pretty good player and a cool guy, He agreed that I wasnt as conentrated as he saw I was on earlier games so thats that...YAY, GIVE MEH MY HAT AND IAM GOIN TO BED!!*

Yea so I come in 33'rd place, get a hat, pack 3 holos in my packs, chill on the hotel couch for a bit til my ride gets here, and head home.

Not gettin my pic with the scrub..hahaha..yea I know, but In a way I wanted to get my scrub pic hehehe...I didnt know they did it on day 2 ><...or else I would of went...didnt go cuz after the long day of the jump I was pretty tired of yugioh for the moment

haha well sammy i went to cosmic on saturday and 2-0'd every single person i played with some piece of crap deck that i was runnin, and it made me realize how good i was

lol, did you see his handwrighting??? right... obviously it was you that was being cheated... he would've obviously beaten you the next turn, except he had the frog in atk mode because he attacked you with it for the win.

he straight up destroyed you game 2.

then was well on the way (with 4-0 hand advantage as well as board advantage) game 3, except time was called, because you got a 10 minute extention on a judge ruling that took 25-30 minutes to sort out... and so you end up winning by time by less that 1k lp's.

you're obviously the uuber pro 1337 ygmanz doolest!!!! should i bow down now, or later?

omg ur sucha ******* dumb ass..ok game 1 that guy has such sloppy hand wrighting and made a mistake which was totally his fault which caused him the game, end of story

game 2 iam in control but this guy pulls off some major top's and basically sacks himself advantage and wins

game 3...ur a ******* dumb ass if you think think the lp was 1k differnece, why dont u compare??? Me 5600, Him 400....1k difference my ass, but Iam sure if time had gone on he might of be able to sack me again, but to bad for him...

Except that he didn't lose 3-0, he won 2-1.

It's pretty obvious no one cheated, your friend just misread his own handwriting somewhere down the line. Stupid people taking ygo losses personally. Man up and take a loss, what are you trying to accomplish coming on pojo and talking trash behind the safety of your computer screen? How about looking at the situation objectively, instead of just taking your friends side because hes your friend.

It's ok to not t8 a jump, you don't need to turn make excuses for yourself/friends.

I met steven and have talked to him many times and I have found that he is a man of his word. If he and philip said he was cheated, he was cheated. Usually these tournament reports take on a fictional quality.

What has happened to simon, he tell us to keep paper records because it will be believed over calculators, but doesn't stick to his word in believing paper. Shame on him.

He wasnt cheated, He misread his hand wrighting, and lost because of his own mistake, not my fault.
And simon believed me because Me, Unlike my opponent could explain all the damage I took and he couldent explain that extra 300 so yea.

I lol'd at this, this is obv. a shonen jump, like he's really gonna say that he couldn't read his handwriting, and if he was right, then why couldn't he explain all the damage like sammy could????? You sir are crazy, and about the statement about Simon, he is the most fair judge that I have ever met, its not his fault that Arias couldnt read his own writing, so yea....and i happen to know sammy, and if HE says he didnt cheat then he didnt so that cancels out ur statement about believing arias........so sorry, Sammy won fair and square
