Drak's HTX Regs Report V. I GOT MY INVITE!!!

Ok, this report won't be as great as usual b/c it's monday & I'm writing it & I spent the wkend sick after we got back from regs (fkn taco bell!!!), but it's still worth writing.

Ok, so I roll into strike zone with NO $$$, I couldn't even pay the $15 for entry fee, let alone food for the day. My trade binder was decimated from trades/ sells in atx a few weeks ago & I only had 2 PoA's & a ninja as noteworthy trade bait. The first thing I do when I get there is to find strike zone's buy list. I sell PoA @ $6, FKN $6!!!!, & some other random jank to make $16. I was going to also sell strike for $7, but something told me not to. I decide to hold out w/ $1 for food & $15 for entry. I then started to trade and did a point trade with some guy for my strike. Guy doesn't know what a point trade is, but needs strike 4 regs, so I tell him 3 holos = 100 pts, ask neutral ppl what strike is worth, get prices ranging from $7 to $24, & settle @ calling him worth $12. Guy shucks out 36 holos for strike, but lots are ultras, ultimates, & even a few playables. I turn around, start trading for stuff offa strike zone's buy list & end up w/ $30 in my wallet, a full binder w/ decent stuff, airknight & ehero holos for tony, & 62 extra holos that will not fit in my binder.

Now, the day tournament wise has begun. Contrary to most reggie reports, I will post my deck 1st w/ minor explanations.

* Quick Notes About the Deck *
- Strike Ninja turns 1-for-1's into neg 1's w/ effect
- Last Will was teched b/c of new rulings
- Dust was teched to set RFTDD/ Solemn
- Goldd was teched for mindgames exclusively
- Side had lots of burn b/c I have a history of being called on time
- RFTDD wasn't primarily used as an OTK, I used it as an advantage generator w/ ninja, DDS, DDWL, Reaper, Sangan, & Blowback making RFTDD at least a 1-for-1

Rd 1: Drak VS Marioanno Perez (one of the few names I remember) TBL 62?
Duel 1: He brings out Vorse Raider, the turns go by fast, his LPs drop to 0 while mine are left untouched.
Duel 2: *HE DID NOT SIDE* 1st turn, I set 1 mon & BTH, he summons kycoo I BTH it. 2nd turn, I flip Dek, draw into my sided 2nd BTH, set it, summon something & atk his lp. He goes, summons a 2nd kycoo! I BTH it. 3rd turn I go, summon something else, atk his lp w/ all 3 monsters, graceful, discard another dark & exiled, set torrential & let him go (i have strike in hand). 3rd turn, HE SUMMONS A 3rd CONSECUTIVE KYCOO!!!! The people beside me dueling hear my "WTF?!" & their eyes pop. I torrential (I wanna go FTW w/ ninja), he prema's, rfgs exiled & a dark. I go, smash, summon ninja, atk FTW.
*I call "JUDGE" in ROTC voice 4 minutes into the round (so if you all heard that, yep, that was me) b/c they haven't passed out match slips. Simon's eyes bug & blake laughs. Me & this guy chilled for like 10 minutes waiting for match slips. He felt pretty embarrassed the whole time. He did, however, enjoy my Graceful Binder.

Rd 2: Drak vs Mohammed TBL 2
Duel 1: Close duel. Mohammed runs CC Chaos, I win w/ rftdd & 1200 lp
Duel 2: I sided in 2 solemns, kept rftdd, sided out goldd for mobius (i do this alot & this will be referred to as my siding unless I specifically say otherwise). Close, close match. We're talking through out b/c I've seen him @ other regs & we're both in the same situation. Our brothers both qualed for nats & we were both gonna go w/ regardless of qual, but we both need invite. Close duel, I get him down to 300 lp w/ me @ 3900, I go FTW w/ 2 strikes & he can't sak both. GG

Rd 3: Drak vs Joshua? TBL 5
Duel 1: I set him up for teh RFTDD OTK. He drops from 8100 to 0 while I end @ 1350 lp.
Duel 2: This is one of the duels I'm proud of. I did the usual side, & we went at it. I play RFTDD, not FTW, but to net me a PLUS 5!!! Got 2 DDS, ninja, Blowback, the effect works leaving his LP wide open for the reaper I bring back as my 5th monster. Brings him down to top decking w/ 1000 lp to my 3700 + MASSIVE advantage. GG

Rd 4: Drak vs David Schwartz TBL 2
Duel 1: He runs a strike deck too so I'm in my favorite, most comfortable situation: MIRROR MATCH. I've dueled Tony & Carbs w/ their ninja decks to playtest (Carbs decided at the last minute to run chaos instead of ninja). So Blowback ended up taking me the match. Final LP Count before the win: Drak 4800, Schwartz 100.
Duel 2: FREAKING CLOSE DUEL!!! I had gone all day 2-0'ing ppl until this! I play rftdd for MASSIVE advantage again (+4) killing his sangan & leaving him topdecking. With sangan he gets his TECHED CANNON SOLDIER!!! I was at 300 lp. Damn nice tech IMO.
Duel 3: He RFTDD's twice & I shut them both down w/ BTH & torrential. Final score before the win: Drak 7400 Schwartz 200

Duel 1: We play it out, I take the first
Duel 2: We play it out, he ***** me
Duel 3: He doesn't play to win since I can go to Cali & he can't

Rd 6: Drak vs Daniel Lasher TBL 1
Duel 1: Honestly, this guy plays mindgames. He runs CC Chaos, but asked STUPID questions to try and throw you off. He starts by bragging about how he beats the best, how he has his invite, & asked whether or not I've played Russel & Luna & the like. I told him not today, but I just beat the guy who beat them. He shuts up for a while. I hate dueling ppl who act like *******es. Just b/c you've done good before or have even been mentioned in a ygo article DOES NOT make you God-On-Earth. He continues his mind games 4 ex: asking me what kind of deck I run b4 the match, asking how many ninjas I run once I drop one, asking me about emo bands, asking me who beat me & how. All of which I respond w/ my poker face & ambiguous answers "You'll see", "A few", "I don't listen to emo, but I do keep time in duels", "Carbs beat me in a duel, why don't you ask him, he's sitting beside you." To which Carbs responds by winking @ the guy ROFLMAO! Anyways, I beat him solid w/ Strike shutting down his 1-for-1's and his chaos sorcerer. No, you cannot atk w/ sorcerer once you choose to rfg strike. JUDGE!!! LOL. Final score b4 the win: Drak 5200 Lasher 700
Duel 2: I side usual & he's telling me about the 2 mobiuses, 2 sorceers, & brain control he had in his hand (CHA, RIIIIIIIGHT!) & I tell him that had he had that he could have brained my DDS & sacked for Mobius. I also tell him that the only time he had 5 cards in his hand was opening duel XD On with the match. I solemned twice (Once a heavy storm 1st turn (I shouldn't have) and twice to save my aSSets) Then I top decked strike vs. His mobius. He wins with 3600 lp to my 900 b4 the win.
Duel 3: Solid duel. I use rftdd to generate advantage & go for the OTK, he torrentials, & GOD SAYS NO!!! ROFLMAO! Final Score before the win: Drak 1600 (6400 at the start of my turn) Lasher 400. GG

Rd 7: Drak vs "Big D" TBL 1, I'm ranked 2nd, D is 1st, if I win I T8, TBL 1
Duel 1: I go for the RFTDD OTK, he stops it w/ BTH, I atk with what's left and try to bring back the ninja I RFG'd for food & that I later RFTDD'd back to the field during the endphase. D calls Judge, Simon says Ninja's shift resolves then rftdd resolves. That costs me the duel. FInal score before the loss: Drak 100 Big D 900.
Duel 2: Despite losing, I side deck the 2 solemns w/ my 2 rftdd's &, since he saw goldd, I do the mobius swap. I also side in a BTH for his Chaos/ Beat stick deck. It runs Chaos, GAF, Kycoo, etc. BTH & Blowback worked like a charm. I got Blowback's effect on his reaper twice, killed a fd magic, & he finally sak'd Blowback. To up BB more, I only tributed a sangan for it. XD Final score before the win: Drak 5200 Big D 700 (He solemned and I still pulled it out)
Duel 3: This one came down to the wire. D, if you post on here & read this, you were one of the hardest duels I had all day if not the hardest. Great Job man. I atk w/ reaper, hit HIS gold, gold kills my mobius & my trap. I smash, he can't finish me before I finish him. Final score b4 the win: Drak 600, Big D 1200.

Rd 8: Drak vs Mike? (Mid East Guy w/ hyped up deck) TBL 1
Duel 1: So, I hear the guy runs burn, that the guy runs CC, that the guy runs OTK, that the guy runs jank, I have no clue what to think. I'm guaranteed T8 now, but Carbs has a chance to T8 off tie breakers. He has only lost to me & Billy &, if we both win & if Carbs wins, his tie breakers will make him the top ranked 6-2. I dueled & the guy scares the f-u-c-I< out of me by setting & playing wave motion first turn. He pops wave off w/ 1 counter & that is the only damage he does before strike & friends own his BTH's & his 1-for-1's. Final Score b4 the win (check this out): Drak 7000 "m" 4500. 4500+ damage in 1 turn w/o RFTDD. GG
Duel 2: I think, Ok, he's running burn. I side accordingly. MS LV 2, solemns, dust, ceasefire & side out my BTH, a few atk traps, & goats. 1 thing he does is set & set, I do the same, HE SACK FOR V-LORD!!! My eyes pop out of their sockets! WTF?! Hard duel, but, since I can't BTH V-LORD & I've sided out my defensive traps he takes it off a heavy & bringing V-LORD back. Final score b4 the win: Drak 600 "m" 700.
Duel 3: Ok, punk, so you TECH burn. I reside accordingly. 2nd BTH here I come. Side out 1 NoC. Now, a HUGE gathering has formed @ the window to the shop behind him. Ppl are cheering outside & knocking on the window. It comes down to LP. I had 900 to his 6200. I also had advantage. I kill his Sangan, he gets CYBER-STEIN! OMFG! ARE YOU SERIOUS! WTF IS THIS DECK?! The next turn my ONLY goal is to get his lp below 5100. I do. He then summons V-LORD, I solemn. 450 lp. He then starts a tsuk lock, I kill MoF w/ Blowback's effect, atk his hand w/ reaper, hit tsuk. He summons cyberstein to atk my reaper ftw. I have down solemn & M-Force. I solemn, the window outside almost breaks, people are dancing & yelling. He has no hand, no options, and wants to cry b/c I'm going to stop his T8 run. He goes "Lucky [arse] solemn!" I then show him my face-down M-Force. He shakes my hand and tries to negotiate a scoop. Billy has won. I won. Crabs is still dueling, count is 1-1. "Carbs, what do you want me to do?" Carbs: "Sign that hoe, this guy is being a ******* so Ima play it out." Carlos wins, the guy he's dueling yells f-u-c-I<!!! REAL loud. Carbs turns in the slip.

B4 T8, I play this Magical Explosion deck that Carbs beat.

Fun Duel: Drak vs Mike Borrque
Duel 1: Guy is gr8, we've been talking all day. Deck is 54 cards, e comes from NOLA, & it's an innovative OTK deck. Runs 2 or 3 monsters, 3 explosions, & all magics. 1st duel, he can't pull it off. All his feathers & explosions are in the gy. He scoops.
Duel 2: HE GOT ME!!! Nuff said. 8000 in 1 turn. O-U-C-H
Duel 3: He can't win. I have 2 solemns set. GG

"Hey Boi! You got your invite!!!"

Rd 9: T8 Drak vs Carbs
Duel 1: We play it out. I **** his horrible hand. Final score b4 the win: Drak 7100 Sexxxy Carbs 4600
Duel 2: We play it out. Solid duel, but he ***** me with Zaborg. I have down 2 solemns & can't stop his attacks. Final score b4 the loss: Drak 1900 Carbs 5700
Duel 3: I solemn as much as I can. Carbs doesn't play to win (he had a decree down), but I sure was thinking he was. *GULP!*

Rd 10: Drak vs Mohammed (again)
If I win the tourny, Carbs gets his invite. If Mohammed wins, Billy gets his invite. If Chris Bowler wins, Big D gets his invite, if Jesus wins, Billy gets his invite. At first, carbs tells me that he wants me to play it out, every1 on Billy's team gets bent (Playing for Carbs who is my teammate vs scooping for billy who is gr8, but who I met the night b4, tell me what you would do). So, I prepare this, carbs & billy play in a side duel, Mohammed & I will play our cards according to who wins. Every1 gets bent, esp. Roy, but Carbs finally says he won't go to nats & to scoop. I scoop in the hopes Mohammed or Jesus wins the tourny.

Jesus loses to Bowler. Bowler wants $200 to scoop eventhough his parents pay for everything he does. Mohammed HAS HIM BEAT A BILLION TIMES!!! & lets him not just get, but KEEP tsuk-dek lock for 3 turns when he could stop it @ any time!!! Mohammed loses, my scoop is for not.

lol. Yal think i just scooped for points. No, Team Outphase has an agenda that is worth way more than 80 dollars. I didn't feel like telling anybody and just keepin' it between my Outphase buddies, but we might be getting sponsored by Strike Zone, and losing in little regional tournaments is not the way to start things off. Strike Zone wouldn't be so keen to sponsor us if we couldn't win a regional.

Ok, that's something, but still man. How many regs has Outphase taken? IMHO Outphase is established enough to have sponsorship w/ a 2nd place in the regs & Billy's invite, even though I just met the guy, would have been a better choice and a decent thing to do. Thanks for offering some type of explanation though.

Yeah, I talked on the phone to jason and asked fili, jake, and daniel and they were all down with it. We were talking about it right before the last round of swiss. Them paying for us to go to Shonen Jumps would be really nice. My team is going to columbus this weekend except daniel, and I am going to Villa Park on the 20th.
