Mofox's Deck Evolution Series - Your Ideas Wanted
I want your deck ideas. If you want to give me deck lists, fine. However I'm more interested in the goals and strategy of your deck idea.
Only 3 decks ideas will be chosen to be used for the Deck Evolution process.
Closing date is 31st August for all submissions.
All I want is deck ideas and lots of them, don't waste time discussing for and against each deck idea between yourselves just list them, then list some more.
Get your creative juices flowing.
Note you will more likely get your deck idea used if it has the potential to be tournament worthy, so that Cacoon of Evolution Deck Idea probably won't make it!!!

First of all, good luck on UK.
Now that that's out of the way, let's start with the actual Deck making. What I think is that It all depends on a couple of things: 1) what do YOU want to run, 2) do YOU like what you'll run and 3) will YOU make it work? Anyway, here's my thought on a couple of Decks:
Earth/Monarch:
This is pretty much a Giant Rat Toolbox mixed with the Monarchs. Giant Rat searches out Fairy Lily, Exiled Force, Mystic Swordsman LV2 (maybe) and the Nimble Momonga. You can tribute them for the Monarchs for their damn nice effects. Then recycle some of them Earth monsters and/or Monarchs with Pot of Avarice to annoy your opponent. This Deck is Really powerful and with the right support this can be a nice Deck to play with.
Soul Control:
God old Soul Control. You can't go wrong with it. Evan Vargas did fine with it, maybe you'll do even better with it. I don't really have to explain myself with this one, do I?
Asura's Rampage:
Picture this: give your opponent Ojama Trio, change them to Attack Mode with Final Attack Orders/Windstorm of Etaqua/Enemy Controller and massacre them with Asura Priest for 6000 Damage. Either that, or Creature Swap (or destroy with Mystic Box) your opponent's monsters for Ameba for 2000 Damage. I suggest the use of cards like Cold Wave to stop whatever your opponent was planning to do to counter Asura's Attack. Devastating.
Well, this are my ideas (2 of them, actually, cause Soul Control isn't really mine). If you'd like any Decks focused on these strategies, let me know.
Hope this inspires you,
NeoDelux

Good luck mofox. Well there is the obvius choice of chaos but then there are other decks u could use. Soul control is underated and it may be easyer to get the cards needed for it. Try horus control. it is an under rated deck type and with the right support i know it works. Burn, cyber stein otk, and chimirateck otk are all good decks u could try too. if u need help building any of these deck types give me a pm and i could help.

a deck idea would be a roid otk...that would be really cool... a way to get 5 roids on the field and kill for more than 8000 lifepoints...

Great ideas everyone, keep them coming.
Soul Control has actually been a very popular suggestion so far and Horus has cropped up a few times in emails.
I love the Earth/Monarch idea - well done Neodelux one of the top runners so far.
Please keep them coming.
I want your deck ideas

Some good deck ideas.
Since PotD just came out, how about an Alien Deck? or Dinosaurs?
Take some types and mix em up. Ive built Horus-Zombie, Beast-Zombie, and Dino-Alien decks, and all of them work pretty well. Also, classic Beastdown is always fun.

A tournament worthy deck, I think that only one that I have is my Horus deck that works on complete lock down, Combining the obvious elements of Horus and Decree with Lord of D for protection of Horus and then working on protecting Lord of D as he is the most vunerable.
Apart from that I reakon and Paladin return deck would be quite effect in a tournament, Use Return, Future Fusion, Soul Release, D.D.Master, Fusion Gate and 1 or 2 Chaos Socerer I reakon you would consistently be able to summon Paladin. there are the only competative Ideas I have.
I have my Horus deck Posted up in my sig if you would like to see my ideas on it, and good luck in the UK championships, I only wish I could go but I don't have the time.

Well...
That cuts out:
Fusions\Rituals\OTK
I sugggest a well built Gravkeeper deck, this deck is aggro and control at the same time and its only weakness is Necrovalley.
There is also potential for Ojama trio in this deck ;) for use with Gravekeepers Assisilant with its built in Enemy Controller on the Ojama's 0 attack.
Also with thembeing Spellcaster it shouldn't be to hard to find support.

What I'd love to see is a competitive Rock Deck. Just imagine Stone Statue of Aztecs + Fairy Box/Mirror Wall = ouch, Staunch Defender could be fun, too. But I assume that would be a really tough attempt.
Another deck idea I would be interested in is a Relinquished Deck. It's just uber stye ;). I'm aware Rituals are considered unplayable because of their card disadvantage, but hey, at least you only need to sacrifice any 1 monster for it. Metamorphosis would be an obvious choice to bring out Thousand Eyes Restrict.
The third suggestion I have is Fire Princess Burn. Yeah, again this is horribly unstable, but if you keep your stalling up for a couple turns, your opponent might be quite surprised when he asks you "how many LP do you have left? WHAT? 11000?" :D. Throw a Wave Motion Cannon in the mix or 2 and you just made it a tad more competitive.
And lastly, for an actually tournament worthy suggestion, what about good ol' Warrior Toolbox? Warriors are so versatile, I find it a helluva lot of fun to play with them (on the YGO video games, that is).
Well so far about my thoughts. I know they're basically suited for casual play rather, but I like to be original.

I've tried a relinquished deck, its possible but requires massive deck thinning :)
Also protection but if you can pull that off I asume it can beat anything.

I've said this far to many times.
Macro is made to RFG stuff and RETURN THEM. Read DDS and DDSP.
Homunculus is junk.
As for this thread...I'm lost. Is there some kinda prize, why is there an entry date and what not, what is the incentive?

No need for the confusion.
Its not a competition...
Therefore there is no prize....
Its just an opportunity to put forward a deck idea you have. Then through my articles on the main site and the fellow Pojo Readers we will, instead of giving a deck an instant fix (like a deck garage), gradually evolve the deck over a period of time.
Its pretty much what happens to decks made in teams and over these message boards. Difference is that I will be bringing it onto the main site and also explain to all the newbies like me how people go about creating and more importantly improving their decks. I will also be playtesting the decks through online duelling and write up turn-by-turn duel reviews of the decks performances so we can see the practical implications of the improvements to the decks.
From the 31st August I will select 3 decks ideas out of the many that will be submitted (50+ to date) and we will create from scratch then test then improve then test some more then improve some more until we reach perfection for each deck.
Read my article on the main site which explains exactly what I am trying to do:
