That's right, not only did I create a deck around the Little Winguard, I also made one for Shield and Sword, all in one fell swoop!
Key Cards: Sword & Shield, Black Stego, Chorus of Sanctuary
Strategy; defend until the time is right/ attack while defending
In case you didn't notice, this deck takes advantage of the, regularly low defensive powers most monsters have these days, and turns it into a strength. The Cannons, Sentry, Stego, and Winguard are not only all fetchable via Sangan/Will, but they turn to defense mode when they're finished. with them, which makes you less vulnerable to a powerful blow after the effects of Shield and Sword wear off.
I've chosen Little Winguard as a primary over Black Stego for one reason. Though Stego has a higher defensive power than the Winguard, he only changes modes when attacked. Though this can be useful, it doesn't set up for Super Junior Confrontation quite as well in a pinch. After all; who wouldn't want a Reaper attacking a 2500 Black Stego? Doubly so when Continuous Destruction Punch is down...
The card that truly shines in this deck, however, is Sword and Shield. This card turns Monarchs into tiny 1000 monsters while turning a Little Winguard into an 1800 monster that turns into an 1800 defender by the time your opponent gets around to attacking it. This card gets amazing use out of this deck, and has never let me down (save the occasional dead-draw of it).
The win condition for this deck is, as expected, lifepoint damage. Either by forcing your opponent to attack facedown monsters (I once had a Kycoo repeatedly attack a 2300 Golem Sentry just to prevent my bouncing), or by following up with attacks of your own.
Other noteworthy cards include Des Kangaroo (which has stopped many a Hydrogeddon assault dead in its tracks, and doesn't even need to be in defense mode for its effect to activate!), Injection Fairy Lily (a 4500 attacker), and Good Goblin Housekeeping (for cycling spare Chorus of Sanctuary and GK Spies)
