Default Best uses for Gozen Match/Rivalry of Warlords?

Since these cards are so similar, I hope this (strategic) thread can cover them both.

My kid runs Machina Gadgets- all machines and Earth monsters. He's a good player, but he's in a slump and I'm looking at main/side options for him.

My questions are:

1) Main either of them?
2) Side either of them?
3) If side deck only, what are the best decks to side Gozen and/or Rivalry against?

THANKS!

If you want to main either, it's a meta-call. What's popular in your area? Against sams and glads, Gozen Match. Against sabers and plantsynch, rivalry. Siding them is always solid, but you have to be pretty sure as to what you'll play against to main em.

personally, use 2 of each in your side deck.

against Six Sams and Glads, use Gozen, so they are locked into one element
against sabers, any chaos varient (besides pure casters), Plants (as long as it's not pure plants), and Elemental Heros, run Rivalry.

i would never main either of these cards since the main deck is reserved for staples of your decktype, and personal tech choices you may have which can fit multiple situations, and that work for you.

the main is never reserved for tech to combat certain decks such as sams, or sabers, or glads, or monarchs. those are reserved for pure counter decks that are made to counter one specific deck, which dont work anyway. side deck is for just incase moments for those times you run into sams and cant beat them without it, or you run into monarchs and cant beat them without it.

just keep in mind, your kid is the one running the deck, so it's his choice how many he wants to side if he wants to at all, but i would personally recommend 2 because i cant think of a situation where u would have to side in 3 of either at once.

Go Gozen Match. If nothing else it keeps the opponent from summoning Cyber Dragon and herp derping into the fortress....

Gozen can mainly kill Glads and Sams

Rivalry kills Glads and to some extent, X-Sabers and Infernity (Can Lock out Grepher and Beetle)

Go with both if it is a Pure EARTH Machine Deck as either would hurt much.

I would side 2 Gozen Match and 1 Rivalry but it depends on what people are running at your locals.

Great advice, but I heard that Glads can tag out into a different type/attribute if they have an "option" for the same type/attribute in their deck. Doesn't this only stop Gyzarus and maybe Test Tiger?

Go for both, and hope not to see Blackwing decks.

Blackwings, Deck Destruction, Machina Gadgets, Gravekeepers, and Dragunity-- those seem like the top decks that won't be affected by either of these cards.
