Default Buying booster boxes or packs in bulk?

I've been looking into buying a Dueling Revolution booster box because of the rares the series comes with. However, the STOR is coming out soon to so I'm unsure of which to purchase. Also, I've been told that buying multiple booster packs in bulk would be better.

What do you guys think would be the best idea? I'm doing it for the trade material and expensive cards I don't have (solemn warning do ex.)

STOR you risk pulling crappy unicorns and draco kinghts from DREV And only one secret in DREV is worth anything And that is Duality

just buy boxes of STOR And trade/buy solemn warning and pot of duality

imo STOR is definitely the best way to go (probability-wise). the chance of pulling Pot of Duality or a few Solemn Warnings are slim (or so I have heard).

Buying packs in bulk is only good if you scale the packs.

For example, I would rather buy 24 pack booster box of STOR (ranges from 58-70 dollars) for 65 (average) dollars, than buy 24 random packs for $3.99 a piece.

not to mention alot of things people are noticing about the nordics so they might actually be alright trade stuff.

Well, hope this helps.

STOR, everyone wants sams right now, pretty much anything you get from it you can trade right away. also has alot better ultras then DREV

DREV is waaay to expensive now.. 130+ for a box? no thank you.

they are probably scaled out so you will get really crappy pull rates

Scaling blister packs is much harder than scaling normal packs.

Go with STOR, higher ratio of you getting the better bang for your buck

Also blisters are terrible for scaling. I know because I scale and alot of the time the numbers you get are weighed out by the cardboard backing...

Which target are you talking about? Because I hit the one by Burnsville Mall and scaled everything in December. Same with both Apple Valleys, the Eagan one, and various other places (all of the walmarts too - although STBL sucks). I've pulled all crap besides the POD. I'm pretty sure someone is scaling before me. I'm going to hit a kazillion places the week of STOR release with my friends.

Another thing, don't buy packs from Cedar Cliff Collectibles. There is a very good reason why they have about the same amount of rares as the holos. They scale them! I scaled every pack and not a single holo was left except for 1 and it was D2 shield. Stupid store. And I had bought around 20 packs before I got a chance to scale them.

STOR, for sure. It will be more in demand than DREV in my opinion because it is a newer set.

Okay, thanks. It seems like everyone has reached a consensus and I believe that I'll be getting the STOR booster box.

What are you guys' thoughts on scaling? I'm not exactly sure whether or not I should buy a scale (only accessibility to one would be on Ebay). Also, how do you go about scaling? Do you scale at the store itself (Target for example; doubt they would care whether or not people scale)? Or do you buy a number of packs and scale at home then return the rest?

EDIT: Where would be the best place to purchase (or pre-order) the STOR booster box? Ebay (for purchasing) or T&T (for both)?

Well, I bought a box of stor just to scale it. You can do the same, get the foil ones and sell the other pack. But play fair, sell the remaining packs at a lower price than retailers and tell the people you're offering them what you did.

Most people won't let you scale, but you can always find a place to do it. For example, in my country, there's a shop in the subway station that sells some packs and most of the time the shop assistant, a friendly old woman, let me scale You should find a place where the people don't know a thing about yugioh.

I don't think you can return the packs, maybe you can say: "Oh I wnated to give this packs to my friend for his birthday, but he told me that this he dislikes this set, so please can you give packs from this other set instead of these?" or something like that. But it's really unfair, I can imagine little kids buying a pack that cost him two days of begging to his mother, with his eyes full of hope, and then pulling a fifth crappy Showdown Castle :/ That's why I only scale boxes and don't buy single packs

I bought one for 9.99/free shipping on eBay past year (around May) and is still working. In fact, today I bought 8 scales packs and pulled 2 Warnings

Damn...

This makes me actual consider buying a scale, but they have to be gram scales right? And they can only be the packs themselves? No cardboard casing or anything, right?

Where would be the best place to buy the STOR booster box? Ebay or T&T?

Dacardworld. Same price as t&t but benefits to buying as it's a expensive item.
And ebay is just unreliable and overpriced.
In my experience T&T is best for buying singles, and dacardworld for buying bulks of things/expensive items.

Sure, it doesn't really matter, I think you should use the Meassure Unit (g. oz. ct. tl.) that works better. I think the one whit a major distance between one number to the next will be better because difference between one pack and another will be greater.

You can also scale Special Editions O: One day I got 2 cases of CSOC SE and scaled them. In most of the scaled ones, two packs contained a foil, an the rest had 3 packs with foils. But in the end I opened all the SE and scaled the packs one by one just to get all foil cards
