Infinity Hunter: Turn 25 "Imprisonment Duel! Crystal Winger!"
Yu-Gi-Oh! Infinity Hunter
ARC 2 “Infinite Search.”
Turn 25 “Imprisonment Duel! Crystal Winger!”
It has been three days since Blake and Gillian disappeared from the alley, after splitting up from Ken and the others. Ken nor the others had no idea where they were or why they had disappeared, or who was responsible for them disappearing.
“Has Laurence returned your calls already?” Jennifer wondered when Ken joined them in the living room of Blake`s home. “And by the way, really why are we here? Blake`s house is no cantina and with his mother at the point she is now?” She pointed to a different room, visible through the glass doors. The mother, Mrs. Connolly, was cleaning, but she was every minute reaching for her cell phone.
“Mrs. Connolly allows us to stay here,” Ken answered. “It was not that big of a problem, since I simply came over this floor every day in the past.” He sat down in one of the comfortable sofa`s. “And no, I haven’t gotten any new phone call of Laurence with information we did not know yet.”
“Does he still have all the search parties looking for them?”
“Well as Captain Salwell is pushing them to go to other cases he deems more important, probably with the influence of your father,” Lance pointed out to Jennifer, who sighs. “Laurence has less and less people to work with. He told us the best thing is to wait, but between the lines suggested we could look for himself as long as we don’t work ourselves onto the radar.”
“Good idea,” Ken decided and he picked his laptop from the table. “Let`s see.” He switched on the laptop and as the program started and the map of the city appeared. “Laurence said he had covered most of these sectors of the city. We go in groups, we don’t want to draw much attention to ourselves. We find Blake and Gillian and we meet back here at the house, okay?”
“Sure.”
“Jennifer, you go with me,” Ken tells the girl and she nods. “Lance, you, Jason and Grace go together and go to the east of the central park. We’ll cover the west side of the central park.” The others nodded. “I know it would have been a good idea to have some others with us, but we still don’t know who we can trust. Jennifer and I will pick up Dyllan when we go there.”
“Is it wise to bring Dyllan into this as well?” Lance asked Ken and Ken looked at him. “I mean, I know we are short handed, but he is after all…..”
“So was I,” Jason intervened and he looked at Jennifer. “And so was Jennifer by the looks of what I heard.”
“Jason is right,” Ken agreed with the man and he closed his laptop, tapping his dueling deck. “We all need you and Blake and Gillian will need us. So let’s ride out and see if we can find them. If anyone finds them, you call the others directly.”
“Got it.” Everybody walked out in unison down to the Duel Runners. Ken`s own duel runner was not here as he flew in with the plane, so he took Blake`s black silver duel runner. Jennifer sat down on the back.
“Uhm Ken?”
“Yeah?”
“Blake does not really like it if you sit on his duel runner.” Lance told Ken and Ken smirked and tapped the duel runner.
“Relax Lance. It is me. Blake won’t mind if I use his duel runner to find him.”
“Let’s hope he does not mind indeed.”
-------------------------------
In a dark cellar, two figures were lying. A thick stone wall was in front of the cellar. There was not much light except for a light bulb hanging from the ceiling. The little light that appeared from the light bulb slowly filled the room as it was bouncing around. The lights revealed the faces of the two figures lying on the ground.
“M-mwah,” Blake slowly opened his eyes looking up into the darkness. “Where am I?” As he sat up, he budged against the girl lying next to him, Gillian. “W-what? Gillian?” He shook her a little, waking her up slowly. As she sat up as well, she looked around, being astonished as to where they were.
“Where are we?”
“I have no idea,” Blake honestly admitted and stood up and saw the light bulb dancing around on the ceiling. He felt on his belt and was surprised both his ground duel deck and his riding duel deck were on it. “How did we get here?”
“I remember feeling something hard landing on my head,” Gillian explained to Blake and Blake nodded. “I don’t know what happened to you though. I was knocked out cold before you I suppose.”
“No, I was knocked out first. I felt something hard landing on my head as well, it went black afterwards.” Blake walked down to the door of the cellar and pounded on the bars of the door. To his own surprise, the door started to open. “What?”
“What is wrong?”
“The door opens.”
“Let’s get out then.” Gillian also got up, grabbing her head and drew a hurt face. “They must’ve hit me hard.” Blake nods and drags her out of the cellar into the dimly lit hallway. He had no idea, absolutely no idea where they were.
“Let’s go down this way and we’ll see where we end up.”
-------------------------
“Where are they?”
Three man were sitting in front of a collection of computer screens. They had various images of hallways as they were frequently scanning through a complex. At one of the monitors Blake and Gillian were seen.
“In hallway 6-D.”
From the shadows behind the men, Mr. O’Hare appeared. He was wearing his brown suit and his red-white tie. He had a phone in his right hand and pointed to the two crossing through the hallway.
“Keep an eye on them.” Mr. O’Hare then pointed to a larger chamber on a different monitor. “Prepare the cage.”
-------------------------
“Do you have any idea where we are heading?” Gillian whispered to Blake, who was walking in front of her. “I mean, all we see are doors and sometimes a side hallway, but that is all. There is no clear direction to where we are heading.”
“I have no idea, wish there was someone that can help us.” Blake whispered back as he looked to the ceiling which was made of steel. The few light bulbs that were hanging from the ceiling gave them a little light that allowed them to see or prevent themselves from tripping over something. “Let’s just follow the hallway.”
“Good idea probably, don’t see anywhere else to go.”
As they approached a new hallway entrance, Blake held Gillian back, sneeking around the corner, being blinded by the light. As he shielded his eyes with his hands, he proceeded around the corner, Gillian closely following him.
“Where is all that light coming from?”
----------------------
“Kill the lights.”
Mr. O’Hare pointed to the hallway in which Blake and Gillian were. The right man with the brown hair nodded and pushed a button.
“Yes sir.”
----------------------
As Blake was going into the light, the lights were switched off all of a sudden. As he had to get used to the sudden change of scene, three men jumped in front of Blake and Gillian, grabbing them. As Blake struggled against his captors, they grabbed his deck belt and pulled it off. One of the three ran away with it, while Blake and Gillian were dragged away.
“My deck!”
“Don’t worry about that now, Blake Connolly.” One of the men forcefully pushed him on the ground. Blake looked at him, being astonished that the man knew his name. As they were dragged down to a hole, Blake attempted to hit his captor. The man pulled his hand down. “Don’t even attempt it.”
“You don’t give me a chance either.”
“Nice flight.”
The men released first Gillian and she fell through the hole. The second man threw in Blake as well and Blake tried to stop himself from going down, although he realized he had to go down as well in order to keep Gillian safe.
-------------------------
“No, Ken, we haven’t found any trace of Blake or Gillian.” Laurence was on the phone in the police department. Aside from the gigantic central screens, there were rows of smaller screens with operators. “We have Security Chasers still around the abduction site. Captain Salwell however wants to pull them off there so that we can continue our investigation on some of the Aurora Remnant-related cases.”
“We can’t lose them, Laurence. We don’t want to lose them.” The voice of Ken sounded a little desperate through the phone. “We are covering east and west of the main park, maybe we can find something or someone that can help us.”
“I know Ken, trust me I know.” Laurence placed a note on his laptop. “Listen, I’ll hit the streets in a few minutes. We’ll meet up at five at the main park. Then we’ll see what we can do.”
“Okay, see you then.”
“Later.” Laurence plugged out his head set and placed it on the table. He then stood up, only to find Captain Salwell standing behind him. Captain Salwell was wearing his security uniform and had a rather stern look on his face. “Oh hey, captain.”
“Were you talking about a case to a civilian?”
“No.”
“You were talking to Ken Devan, right? The friend of Blake Connolly?” Captain Salwell did not even wait for Laurence`s answer. “I figured. After the stunt you pulled with Mr. Devan and his friend and double crossed Mr. O’Hare, we monitored your activities. You are not allowed to talk about active cases to civilians.”
“I know that sir. As far as I remember you implied the finding of Connolly and O’Hare was no longer an active case and you would pull of all Security Chasers and Officers from the case to investigate Aurora Remnant-related activities, so therefore I have not done anything wrong.” Laurence pointed out and he picked his keycard from his desk and he walked around Captain Salwell. “Now if you excuse me, I have my rounds to do.”
“Do remember who you work for.”
“I remember that all too well. I work for justice, it is time you sort out for who you work.” With those words Laurence left behind a flustered Captain Salwell, who had no idea how to react. At the elevator doors, Ben Kingsley met him.
“You may have overstepped the line this time, Laurence.” Ben warned him and Laurence smirked, nodding and he opened the elevator doors. “I would be carefull if I were you. You know who Captain Salwell is in league with.”
“I know that all too well. I am going to do my rounds, keep me up to date if anything happens in these Aurora Remnant-related activities.” Laurence stepped inside the elevator and the doors closed. As Ben Kingsley turned around, a cross-shaped mark was revealed to be behind his ear.
----------------------------
Blake landed through a hatch in a wall in a large space. Gillian had landed on a couple of cardboard boxes and was brushing off some of the dirt having come on her after her fall. He looked around, before helping Gillian up from the boxes.
“Where are we now?”
“You are in The Cage, my dear daughter.” Blake and Gillian both were surprised to hear the voice of Mr. O’Hare and Blake had a disgusted look on his face when Mr. O’Hare approached the two.
“The Cage?”
“Yes, The Cage. The Cage is an experimental duel arena of ours. You’ll see in a minute.” Mr. O’Hare pointed down and Blake saw how a yellow painted border showed he was standing inside a rectangular space. Mr. O’Hare then pointed up to some sort of room where the three men sat. “Activate The Cage.”
“Yes sir.”
Steel bars came out of the ground, from where the yellow border was shown and Blake was closed in and sealed off from where Gillian was standing. He made a rush for it, but he hit the bars and they would not break.
“Gillian!”
Two men grabbed Gillian and dragged her to the side, where Mr. Gerardson was waiting as well.
“Now about this experimental duel arena.” A spiked machine appeared from the ceiling reaching down into the cage. “This arena has been designed by us on order of my companion Gakyru, who wished to test your true potential.”
“You mean, try and kill me to get me out of the way to get to the Infinity Core?”
“Eventually,” Mr. O’Hare showed a vicious smile while saying that. “Eventually you will indeed be taken out of the way to get to the Infinity Core. It is all for the greater good. All for the greater world. And all for more profit.”
“You are clouded,” Blake spoke against him. “Gakyru will have no place for you in his perfect world.”
“He will have no place for you in his world. But that is not the reason why you are here. You see you possess a deck which is a threat for Gakyru and he wishes to eliminate this thread against him. Therefore he has requested this action to be taken.” Mr. O’Hare pointed up to the machine, showing a board with four cards on it, three Synchro Monsters and one Fusion Monster.
“Blaze Salamander….” Blake recognized the first card. “Griffin…..” That was the Fusion monster card. “Phoenix!” His prized Synchro monster, the second boss monster of his deck was the third card on the board. His eye however opened when he saw the final card, his soul, his power and his will.
“Blackthunder Helios Dragon…..” Mr. O’Hare nodded and Blake`s mouth opened and closed. “Yes, that is your prized dragon. We have taken everything you used to bring down Gakyru in your duel. You have no possession over them in your next duel, in fact they are ours now.”
“They will never obey your command,” Blake answered and he could hear the distant cry of his dragon. “They will never, ever land in the evil schemes of either you or Gakyru. They will never fall to evil.”
“They don’t need too,” Mr. O’Hare once again pointed up to the machine. “They are simply pawns in our plan to world glory, to a perfect world. A world in which the Infinity Core and the Silent Core will give us wealth and wisdom. But don’t worry, you will still have the rest of your deck to fight with.” He picked Blake`s deck box from his pocket and handed it to Blake. “Your challenger is waiting already.”
“Who is it?”
He heard a plateau coming down from the ceiling and on it was a young man he had seen before in the card shop, before he was abducted. The black haired man stepped from the plateau, revealing it to be Leon.
“You are Leon….” Blake noticed and Leon chuckled walking up to him and facing him from the other side of the cage. “You were in their league all the time?”
“I serve Master Gakyru.” Leon agreed and he activated his duel disk, shoving his dueling deck from the duel box with the flame design on it in the duel disk. “And I have been given orders to eliminate you.”
“Easy Leon….” Mr. O’Hare intervened. “Master Gakyru has given specific orders to not kill him yet. When you are done with him, he is all mine.” He then turned to Mr. Gerardson who still held Gillian. “Hold her there. She may watch this duel.”
“So you guys have brainwashed Leon as well?” Blake joked.
“Brainwashed? No, he had a Change of Heart.” Mr. O’Hare opened the door of the cage and walked through it, waiting at the other side of the bars. “No, this is simply another test. Let us see how well you fare against an opponent without using your prized Synchro and Fusion cards.”
‘He is so wrong about that.’ Blake smirked and activated his duel disk, inserting his own deck, allowing it to be auto-shuffled. “Alright than, we will duel.”
Blake – 4000
Leon – 4000
“And I will start out first.” Blake draws a new card and smiled. “I pay 1000 lifepoints to summon my Blackthunder Cocoon (0/2200) to the field in defense mode. Once per turn this card gains 1 Blackthunder-Counter [1].” The known starting line monster of Blake appeared on his side of the field.
Blake – 4000 -> 3000
‘Ha, he has played exactly as I predicted. Now since he does not have Griffin, he will have to resort to other tactics. I am going to enjoy this.’ Mr. O’Hare continued to eye the duel`s start.
“That is nothing new you know?” Leon asked Blake and he looked at Blake with a challenging look. “Come with something new!”
“Oh, I will.” Blake looked at his hand and inserted a new card in his duel disk. “I play the spell card Counter Gift. By selecting one card with a counter on it, I can place another counter of the same category on it. I choose my Blackthunder Cocoon [1 -> 2]. Now I set this card face down and end my turn.”
“Good my turn then.” Leon draws a new card and smirks. “You are done for already. I activate the spell card Armor Collector.” The spell card rose on to the field and Leon`s deck glowed with red energy.
‘Interesting. Armor Collector is a spell card for Armor cards, a very specific type of monsters. I have never played against them and it seems I am going to play against them now.’ Blake shakes off his confusion as he watches Leon pick another card from his hand.
“Now I remove my Psychic Armor Head from my hand from play to Special Summon my Phoenix Blaze Visor (500/500) to the field.” As the blue-white helmet quickly flashed on the field, a new visor appeared. This one was blazing red and golden, with the design of a phoenix` head.
‘And he can still normal summon.’
“Now I summon Phoenix-1 – Flare Blitz (0/0) to the field.” A red armored armlet attached itself to Leon`s right arm. “Now this card gains 300 attack points for every Armor monster on my field (ATK: 0 -> 600).”
“My Blackthunder Cocoon gains 1 Blackthunder-Counter [2 -> 3].”
“Of none importance,” Leon laughed. “I know you do not have Blackthunder Griffin. I end my turn with this face down card.”
“My turn then and my Blackthunder Cocoon gains another Blackthunder-Counter [4], which normally would have been enough for Blackthunder Griffin, but now as you so cleverly point out makes no sense because I do not hold that card in my deck due to your stunt.” Blake looked at his hand. “I do have other cards to fight with.”
“Oh really?”
“Yes, for instance this card. Lineage of the Thunder. I can draw 1 card for every Blackthunder monster on the field, which mean I draw one. Next I discard the one card I have just drawn to place another Blackthunder-Counter on my Cocoon [5].” Blake smirked as he tapped his card of the Blackthunder Cocoon, which on the field began to show cracks in it. “You should really have done more research, Mr. O’Hare.”
“What does he mean?”
“It means father, that Blake does not only rely on the four Synchro or Fusion monsters you took from him,” Gillian shed a smile as she looked upon the opened cocoon from which a needle was shown now and an armored tail.
“I tribute my Cocoon with 5 Blackthunder-Counters to summon forth Blackthunder Guard Scorpion (1500/2500) in defense mode!” Blake ordered and from the remains of the cocoon a huge scorpion appeared. It was blackened like all other Blackthunder monsters and it had vicious jaws. “Now once per turn I can deal you half of the attack power of the strongest monster on your side of the field as damage.”
Leon – 4000 -> 3700
“Next as I have summoned a Blackthunder monster by sending a monster with Blackthunder-Counters to the graveyard, I can Special Summon this monster to the field, Blackthunder Crystal – Advent Sword (1000/500), a Tuner monster.” Blake smirked and he looked up to his prized monsters. ‘I will avenge you guys, our new partners will help me out with this.’
“A Tuner monster? So you are going for a Synchro Summoning?”
“No, in fact I am not. I do not have the necessary requirements on the field.” Blake lowered his duel disk after inserting a card in it. “I equip my Blackthunder Crystal – Advent Sword with my Avenging Thunder Blade, which allows me when the equipped monster attacks, to place a Blackthunder-Counter on the monster that is attacked. What kind of effect evolves from that, you’ll find out soon enough.”
“My combination of Phoenix Armor and regular Armor can withstand anything,” Leon claims and he looks at the two parts having been attached to himself.
“I now end my turn with this card face down.” Blake ended his turn with the vertical placed card face down. “The next round is all yours.”
“By giving up my Draw Phase I activate the effect of Armor Collector and add 1 Armor type monster from my deck to my hand.” Leon shifted through his deck and picked a card out, adding it to his hand. “Next I summon forth my Active Guard (0/0).” The piece of white blue armlet appeared and attached itself to Leon`s chest. (Flare Blitz: ATK: 600 -> 900)
“Your Armor deck is impressive sofar, relying on the other cards to help you out in a duel. I can´t help but feel you are an impressive opponent,” Blake complimented as he continued to observe Leon`s reaction. “Even though it is under these circumstances.”
“Don’t try to flatten me with these compliments, we are each other`s enemies. Activate continuous spell card, Phoenix Form. Once per turn I can select 1 Phoenix Armor monster on my side of the field and only on this turn that monster can attack directly. I select my Phoenix Armor I – Flare Blitz. Fire Scorcher!” Leon ordered as he trusted his right arm into Blake, taking away lifepoints.
Blake – 4000 -> 3100
“I do have to give up my Battle Phase now, but I do not mind for now. I set this card face down and end my turn.” A new card appeared in front of him and he lowered his duel disk eyeing the borders and the tool holding Blake`s four cards. “I do expect you to give me a rocky ride still.”
“Don’t worry about that, I will. Draw.” Blake picked up his next card and looked at it. “I activate the effect of my Guard Scorpion and deal you half of the strongest monster`s attack power to you as damage!”
Leon – 3700 -> 3250
“Next Guard Scorpion, attack his Flare Blitz!”
“Activate trap, Sakuretsu Armor! This destroys the attacking monster.” Leon slowly breathed as the armor bonded itself around Guard Scorpion and blew it up.
“I still have my Blackthunder Crystal – Advent Sword. Destroy his Flare Blitz!” Blake waited anxiously for the result and to his own happiness, the attack of the warrior hit the target and destroyed the armlet of Leon.
Leon – 3250 -> 3150
“Next I equip my Advent Sword with my Crystal Thunder Sword, increasing its power by 300 (ATK/DEF: 1000/500 -> 1300/800). Also the equipped monster gains 2 Blackthunder-Counters.” A newer shiny sword appeared in the hands of the warrior. “Now I place this card face down and end my turn.”
“Good then I suppose it is my turn again,” Leon tipped his Phoenix Blaze Visor. “Now by giving up my Draw Phase I can special summon 1 Phoenix Armor monster from my hand to the field. Appear, Phoenix Armor-3 – Terra Knuckle (900/0). Next I reveal my trap card Magnet Armor, which allows me to special summon an Armor monster from my graveyard to the field. Come forward Phoenix Armor-1 – Flare Blitz and as I have three armor monsters on the field, it gains 1200 points (ATK: 0 -> 1200).”
“I have to do something quickly,” Blake agreed with himself. ‘His Phoenix Form card is still active and I wonder what his Terra Knuckle can do.’
“Now for something new, Phoenixian Gravitation. By drawing 5 cards from my deck I can summon forth any Armor monster drawn. The other Armor monsters are removed from play and the other cards are going to my hand.” Leon shifted off five cards from his deck and slapped one of them in a monster zone. “I summon forth Over Boost. Now instead of using my Phoenix Form all my monsters can attack you directly. Go my Flare Blitz! Fire Scorcher!”
Blake – 3100 -> 1900
“Next up! Terra Knuckle! Terra Destroyer!”
Blake -> 1900 -> 1000
“And last but definitely not the least, Phoenix Blaze Visor! Volcanic Vision!”
Blake -> 1000 -> 500
“He brought down Blake`s life points in one move by more than 2000!” Gillian panicked, fearing they might never get out of here, definitely not if Blake does not have his trusted monsters in his extra deck. “Come on, Blake…..”
“I am still standing…..” Blake murmured as he struggled not to fall onto the ground. The duel was intense and his Blackthunder Guard Scorpion. “It is time to raise this duel to a new level.”
“Go ahead, I’ll be waiting for it. I end my turn.”
“Draw new card,” Blake shifts off a new card from his deck and smiles. “Activate Pot of Greed and I draw 2 cards. Next spell card activate, Armory Blast. By effect of this card I give up my Crystal Thunder Sword and regain 1000 life points.”
Blake – 500 -> 1500
“That is not all however as I summon forth Tune-Summoner (1300/300). By tributing this card I summon a Tuner monster from my deck to my side of the field.” The golden knight appeared in a flash onto the field, before disappearing again, being replaced by a crystal wearing warrior in black clothes and a hood on his head with black feathers on it. “I summon forth my Blackthunder Aura Valkyria (1400/1000).”
“Is he going for a double tuning?” Gillian and Leon wondered.
“Once per turn, 1 Tuner monster on my field is used as an Effect monster as long as Aura Valkyria is on the field. However I don’t intend to do that, because it is an optional effect. I tune in my Blackthunder Crystal – Advent Sword with my Blackthunder Guard Scorpion!” Blake raised his arm into the air. “You thought taking away Helios Dragon would be enough to take me down. Well it is not!”
“Level 7…… it must be really powerful if he sees it at the same level as his dragon,” Mr. O’Hare thought out loud.
“From the crystals of hope, the distant roar of a new lord can be heard. The mighty wings flap as the force of the crystal dragon is felt! Synchro Summon! Take flight Blackthunder Crystal Winger (2400/1600)!” Blake chanted as a new dragon rises onto the field. The dragon was covered by bluish crystals. The darkened skin of all Blackthunder monsters was visible and it had two rows of yellow teeth and glaring red eyes.
“A new dragon?”
Everybody was astonished at the sight of Blake`s new monster.
“Yes a new dragon.”
“He had another ace in his deck….” Mr. O’Hare slammed his fist against the wall. “Why did he not tell me?”
“Gakyru never knew I had a second dragon in my deck. I found this card in a present my mom gave me after the battle in the Aurora Stadium. It is connected with my Helios Dragon.” Blake smirked as he flipped a new card from his deck. “I am sorry you had to wait so long to see it, Leon.”
“I am always in for a challenge.”
“I hope so, because Blackthunder Crystal Winger comes with a special ability. When successfully summoned, I can summon forth two Blackthunder Crystal Draco Tokens (2x 500/500). There is one last thing I must do now. I activate Crystal Awakening, a spell card that allows me to treat a Blackthunder tuner monster as a Blackthunder Crystal tuner monster.” Aura Valkyria became surrounded by crystals. “Now allow me to tune in my Aura Valkyria with one of the two Blackthunder Crystal Draco Tokens.”
“A second Synchro monster?”
“From the crystals of hope, the sword of courage rises into the air. Avenge your fallen brethren and be a legend! Synchro Summon! Rise, Blackthunder Crystal Avenger (1800/2000)!” Blake chanted as from the Synchro gate a heavily armed and armored warrior in golden-blue armor appeared. On his armor there were crystals of course. “Now this card gains 1 Blackthunder-Counter, due to there being another Blackthunder Crystal monster on my field. Same goes for Crystal Winger. However their effects are different.”
“Probably yeah.”
“I remove the Blackthunder-Counter from Crystal Winger to increase its power by 400 (ATK/DEF: 2400/1600 -> 2800/2000). Next I attack your Flare Blitz!” Blake commanded as the dragon rose into the air and fired a beam at the armlet of Leon. “Crystal Flare Impact!”
“Activate trap card, Sakuretsu Armor!”
“I am afraid not, by removing the Blackthunder-Counter from my Avenger, I can negate the destruction of Crystal Winger allowing the attack to go on!” Blake smirked as the sword of Avenger hit the trap card, destroying it.
Leon – 3150 -> 1950
“I now attack your Phoenix Blaze Visor with my Avenger! Destroy it!” Blake ordered as Blackthunder Crystal Avenger drove his sword against the helmet of Leon. “Crystal Sword of Dreams!”
Leon – 1950 -> 650
“I now do end my turn.”
“It is my turn then and I activate the effect of Armor Collector, adding one Armor monster from my deck by giving up my Draw Phase. Next stop my Pot of Greed card, allowing me to draw two cards.” After shifting through his deck for a certain card, he draws two additional cards.
“I suppose the card you added will do something good?”
“Of course it does,” Leon smiled as he flipped a card into his duel disk. “Activate spell card, Harddrive Armor.” The spell card appeared on the field and a hand picked Flare Blitz and Phoenix Blaze Visor from his graveyard. “This card allows me to retrieve two Armor monsters that were previously destroyed in battle and summon them to the field. Next I equip my Phoenix Blaze Visor with my Defense Layer spell card which makes it gain 500 defense points (DEF: 500 -> 1000).”
“It is still too weak for my Crystal Winger and Crystal Avenger, you know?” Blake mocked Leon and Leon nods. “And yes I know about your Phoenix Form card.”
“Then you know what will happen.” Leon however first took of one card from his duel disk and replaced it with a new monster card. “I tribute my Over Boost to summon forth Phoenix Armor-5 – Magma Shield (0/0) in defense mode.” A bright red-golden shield encased his upper body. “And next spell card, United We Stand. I equip it with my Flare Blitz (ATK/DEF: 1500/0 -> 5500/4000). Now it is more than powerful enough to destroy your Crystal Winger! Flare Blitz! Fire Scorcher!”
“No!”
Blake – 1500 -> 0
Leon – 650
-------------------------
“Where the hell are they?”
Ken stopped near a bench with his duel runner as the others stopped near them. They had decided to meet up near the clock town square to exchange ideas on where Blake and Gillian might be.
“There is nothing south of Cathers and Westion. A friend of mine mentioned they might just as well have gone outside of the city, but I do not believe they would do that unless we knew about it,” Lance informed the others. “I have really no idea where they are. Did Laurence call back?”
“Not yet.”
At that moment they heard sirens. One single police duel runner shows up and the rider is clearly Laurence. As Laurence steps off, he pulls of his helmet and nods to the others. Ken and Lance walk forward to meet him.
“Did you find anything?”
“In fact we did.” Laurence started and he pulled out a device from his pocket and switches it on. “We found Blake`s duel runner a couple of blocks from here. There were some sets of footprints of which we are searching the database now, but sofar no luck.”
“Where are your officers now?”
“Around the city. I can’t take a day off without captain Salwell noticing anything strange. He’ll fire me if he found out I took a day of to help you out,” Laurence continued and he placed his helmet in front on the driver’s seat. “So what have you planned next?”
“We were about to go back home, it is getting late after all,” Jennifer took part in the conversation before it would go between Laurence and Ken again. “And no sign of my sister either?”
“Either your father is really smart, and your sister is with Blake,” Ken presumed and he looked at his friends for support. “Or Gillian is somewhere in this city. After all, Gillian is the only pressure tool for O’Hare to use against Blake. I mean he could have chosen me, he could have chosen Yuni or Grace, but he chose Gillian.”
“I always knew something would develop between the two of them again,” Jennifer and Yuni joked and the others laughed and sat back on their duel runners.
“Attention to all units. Please respond and go to Central Park. There are riots going on with people supporting the Aurora Remnant.” The voice of the woman came through the radio of the duel runner of Laurence.
“Great,” Laurence sighed. “Seems like I have to go.”
“We will come with you. It is on our way home anyway.”
----------------------------
“You really are good at chess.”
Paul and Rebecca were taking some time off, sitting in a park with many tables on which various people of various ages were playing chess or reading the paper or just conversing about any subject.
“Checkmate,” Paul placed his pieces and Rebecca shook her head, smiling. “You are the first one to actually proof to be a challenge to me.”
“You don’t think the only thing we played at Eon was Duel Monsters now do you?” Rebecca joked. “We played games of chess as well as well as quizzes. It was good to keep up our knowledge of the happenings outside Eon.”
“I suppose they were never a match for you?”
“No, they were not indeed.”
Paul smiled as he looked around him and noticed a couple of men standing near a tree. He found them suspicious, even though they were wearing everyday`s clothing but they did wear sunglasses although even if it was not sunny.
“Let’s go.”
“Why?”
“I don’t trust these guys over there. After what all happened, you can never be too cautious about everything that is happening around us.” Paul rose to his feet and took Rebecca with him, walking out through the other side of the park. As he looked around, the men moved as well, both to different sides. “They are splitting up.”
“See….. there is nothing wrong with them.”
“Guess again.”
At that very same moment the two men moved in and surrounded Paul and Rebecca. Not wanting to put Rebecca into harm’s way, Paul decided not to try and counter against them, not trying to get away.
“Hello Mr. Connolly, Professor Azura. We have been given orders to escort you to our boss.” The two man grabbed Rebecca`s arm making sure she could not move away. “Our boss wishes to talk to you.”
“Who says we wish to talk to him?”
“Our boss does not care about that. Besides I think our boss will be pretty familiar to you.” The right man, blonde haired, guided Rebecca to a van not far from them. As they were pushed in, the van drove off.
-------------------------
‘Where am I?’
A set of eyes opens as a starry sky is overhead the person lying on the ground. He is lying in the dusty grounds. As he slowly stands up, he brushes off some of the dirt on his clothes. As he turns around, he is revealed to be Kaito.
‘Last I remember was being attacked by Tyson, the duel ending in a draw. The Door to the Other Side sucked me into it.’ Kaito sat down on a stone in the desert like region, with multiple large stones around. ‘I have no idea where I am now. I have no idea what has happened to me, or why I am here now.’
The best thing, Kaito decided, was to walk and find out wherever he was. As of now, he had no clue to where he is, where his friends he met are or how the duel ended up for Tyson. There was no sign of Tyson either, which was a good thing as he did not feel like dueling again.
‘Where is the best to go now?’
-------------------------------
Blake – 0 -> 1000
Leon – 650
“What?!”
“I remove my Phoenixian Revival from my deck from play, which allowed me to increase my lifepoints by 1000 after damage calculation. This means I am still in the game.” Blake smirked as he looked at his monsters still ready to battle. “It is still your turn, Leon.”
“Not for long as my Magma Shield gains 500 defense points per armor monster (DEF: 0 -> 2500) on my side of the field, plus it can only be destroyed by Armor monsters, which makes it pretty impossible to wage a direct attack against me for you.” Leon was confident, even if Blake came back with a ridiculous powerful card. “I end my turn now.”
“Draw new card.” Blake draws a new card from his deck and looks at it. “I declare this card to be a trap card.”
‘Got to be one of those Omnicard things.’
“Watch it Leon as I set the very same card I just drew face down. Next by tributing my final Blackthunder Crystal Draco Token generated by my Blackthunder Crystal Winger I summon forth my Blackthunder Agile Condor (2000/2000). Also Blackthunder Crystal Winger and Blackthunder Crystal Avenger gain 1 Blackthunder-Counter.” Blake pointed to his new dragon. “Watch as I release the power of my new dragon onto your Magma Shield!”
“He is not strong enough….”
“I am not facing it in a heads on attack, Leon. I am facing it in an effect battle. Let us see whether Magma Shield can stand the pressure of my Crystal Winger. I remove the Blackthunder-Counter from Crystal Winger to destroy Magma Shield!” The breast plate armor blew up and Leon did not look happy. “Next my Crystal Winger will attack your Phoenix Blaze Visor!”
“I’ll drain away its power with Draining Shield!” Leon countered as his card flipped face up. “I now regain 2400 lifepoints!”
Leon – 650 -> 3050
“My Blackthunder Crystal Avenger will attack your Phoenix Blaze Visor then!” Blake ordered again and the warrior drew his blade and drove it into the helmet of Leon. “Take that for a change.”
Leon – 3050 -> 1150
“And last but not least, Agile Condor will destroy your Terra Knuckle!”
Leon – 1150 -> 50
“Now I conclude my turn.”
“Sir,” Mr. Gerardson whispered to Mr. O’Hare. “Things are looking bad. Should I pull the plug?”
“No, Gakyru specifically ordered the duel to continue until the end, no matter what the outcome was, we have to continue.” Mr. O’Hare turned away from Gillian and continued, whispering. “Just make sure you take what we need at the end of the duel.”
“Yes sir.”
“My turn then.” Leon draws a new card. “I now send my Phoenix Armor-1 – Fire Blitz to the graveyard to special summon Phoenix Armor-6 – Flare Cannon (1000/0).” His right armlet was replaced by a rather more bulkier version.
“A new armor monster.”
“Yeah a new armor monster. And I have no Overboost on the field so I simply choose to activate the following spell card, Dimensional Attack. All monsters that have 1000 or less attack points can attack you directly!” Leon smirked as he pointed to his Flare Cannon. “Phoenix Armor-6 – Flare Cannon, Flare Blaster!”
“I am afraid it is too easy,” Blake smirked as he flipped a card from his hand. “Serial Trap, a spell card that allows me to reproduce a trap card used Last Turn. I copy Draining Shield!”
Blake – 1000 -> 2000
“And I assume correctly if I say, you do not have another trick like that on your sleeve.” Blake laughed and looked at his deck. ‘Finish this turn, Leon, so I can finish this ridiculous duel.’
“I end my turn.”
“My draw then and I activate my trap card, oh well the Omnicard turned trap card Blackthunder Spiral Spirit. Now I can special summon 1 Blackthunder monster from my graveyard.” Blake face down card flipped up and his former tuner appeared on the field. “Rise Aura Valkyria!”
“More insurance?”
“In fact, yes. You see you made one critical error in your play. You should have kept Flare Blitz on the field equipped with United We Stand, but instead you went for the next stage. That is a shame. As Dimensional Attack, as I used the card myself, removes all monsters on your side of the field from play.” The armor monsters were taken from Leon, who looked really unhappy. “Now there are two things left to do. By removing my Serial Trap from my graveyard from play I destroy all face down and up trap cards.”
Leon`s final back row card disappeared as well.
“And now I defeat your. Blackthunder Crystal Winger! Crystal Flare Impact!”
Leon – 650 -> 0
“I knew he would do it.”
At that moment Mr. O’Hare took Gillian by the arm and pulled her to the cage throwing her in through a door. Blake caught her as he looked to Leon and then to his cards on the ceiling, who were still strapped onto machinery.
“You may have won this duel, Blake. But that does not mean you get your cards back!”
The machinery was pulled away along with the three Synchro monsters and the one Fusion monster over the border of the cage and into the hands of Mr. O’Hare. Mr. O’Hare smiled and left through a door.
All people, including Mr. Gerardson slowly started to leave the chamber as well. Blake looked to Leon, who was looking rather confused.
“Leon….”
“Do I know you?”
“I know you now.” Blake helped Leon up. “You were under a spell placed by Gakyru. You were not responsible for your actions. We have to get out.”
“Blake….” Gillian pointed up to the windows above them. “My father still has those four cards of yours. And if Gakyru gets his hands on them, you have no further aces to battle him.”
“Yeah I do,” Blake told Gillian. “Crystal Winger and Crystal Avenger have proved themselves very useful.”
At that moment gas started to fill the chamber. Blake by then realized to late the cage was gone already and as he slowly saw Gillian dozing off, Leon fell on the ground out of exhaustion. Blake`s vision became very bad and last he sees is that the surroundings become black.
-------------------------
Minutes if not hours afterwards Blake is the first to wake up. As he pushes Gillian, he notices his duel disk and deck are still in his possession. Gillian and Leon slowly woke up as well, looking around them.
“Where are they?”
“I don’t know.” Blake stood up and helped up Gillian while Leon rose to his feet on his own. “The ground feels a little shaky.”
“There is no cage anymore.”
“We can move freely now.”
“Let’s see where we are and then start worrying about me getting back my cards.” Blake slowly walked to a door, made of steel and opened it. Bright sunlight shines in his eyes and when his sight got used to it, he saw they were staying on top of something. Leon and Gillian were the first to reach the edge.
“Uhm, Blake. You’ll never believe where we are on now.”
“Try me.”
“Come look for yourself,” Gillian begged. Blake slowly walked to the edge and looked over it, seeing nothing but an ocean below them.
“A boat?!”
To be continued……..
RANDOM INFINITY HUNTER TRIVIA:
Yeah the idea to place them in the middle of an ocean was a random idea which sprung to mind, when I devised the whole kidnapping-stealing cards thing. A boat on which they are seemingly alone……. but are they alone?
I finally have some more time to write again, although there will be less constant updating of Infinity Hunter. I always wanted to feature an Armor series in Infinity Hunter, and I think the Phoenix Armor monsters are good choices. Oh we’ll see in the future.
Also I originally intended to have a former character appear in this episode from Arc 1. In the end I choose not to, because I had no idea how to fit him in.
See you for Turn 26!

Another excellent chapter and for a second I was worried about Blake, but looks like he was able to save himself.
Rebecca and Paul seem to be in trouble, but something tells me the truth will soon be revealed.
Kaito is lost in a strange new place and doesn't even know he has someone coming after him.
The duel was written well and there isn't much to complain about. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see what happens next.

Finally caught up.
Wow, you sure have a lot going on! I'm liking the various villain factions. We have Gakryu and his cross tattooed slaves, then the Joker (APPEAR OH JOKER!) and his master Ne'us, and then the Professor with his subordinate Troy.
And now you took away Blake's ace cards and stranded him and his girlfriend on a boat in the middle of the ocean.
As for my wishes, I am hoping that Kaito awakens and starts kicking butt with his deck again! I also hope Ne'us and Troy manage to take out Gakryu. He's really getting annoying! He should just suffer a fate like Divine AKA Sayer.
Anyways, see ya for Turn 26.

And here I thought Crystal Winger was going to be the name of some character, but I suppose it makes sense that it was a Blackthunder card. I can't say I'd know anybody with the last name "Winger." >.> <.<
A good showing for Blake, despite having his arguably best cards snatched away from him. I must admit that for a while I thought Blake and Gillian were going to be forced to duel each other in that Cage arena, but the way you did it was just as fine. Leon is a royal pain, haha. Well-done with his character.
As for where Blake and Gillian are at, though, their friends might want to put off that search. At least they're looking diligently.
Of course, it's good to see Armor cards running around.
I'm not sure if I approve of a card like Phoenix Revival being removed from the deck, but eh. It was good for what you intended it to do. Except now whenever Blake is ready to drop to zero Life Points, I'll almost be expecting this card to show up and just save him, so some future suspense might be ruined a little unless he takes it out of his deck. I'm not sure if that's what you wanted, though.
Your characters are rather scattered around at the moment, but that's a good thing because it's giving us a lot of different scenes. A lot of groups are on the move, so we'll have to keep an eye out for where exactly their interests are going to intersect.
I wanted to say something about another of the scenes, but I went away and didn't finish this post in one shot, so now I forget...bleh. If it comes back to me, I'll come back.
Good chapter, Sep. See you for the next!

Well there we go then. Finally having time to run down here and comment back.
Xander: I am not happy about Blake having survived the way he did. Phoenixian Survival was in fact how I decided to turn something around, because I was in doubt how to do it. Phoenixian Revival also had a meaning behind it. Blake did not have his ace monsters, including Blackthunder Phoenix, he had to survive without them and he has proven to be able to do that. As for returning of the same card, probably not since he will eventually get his ace monsters returned. Until that happens he has to hang in with Crystal Winger and Crystal Avenger.
Yeah, Kaito is lost in space, lol. He is somewhere and certainly someone is out for him. Eh, why not, there is always someone out for any of my characters.
027982: Thanks!
XERO: Joker your new favorite character? Or is it still Phantom Rider? And when do people finally lean?! It is Gakyru not Gakryu. And don't be so sure about Troy and the Professor being the kind of villians as Gakyru and Ne'us are. Kaito kicking butt eh? Well Xander would like that, we'll just see how it all ends up.
ShadowBlade: Crystal Winger as a character eh? Really, well then that is funny. I once called a character Crystal Winger, but that was really really long time ago. No, I thought it was a fitting name for the secondary dragon inside Blake`s deck. I considered Blake vs Gillian at one time in the cage arena, but I threw that out after I used Leon. Not sure however, how Leon is going to fit in the story for the rest, but I used him.
As for Phoenixian Revival, see comment on Xander. Multi enemy fractions and handling them is actually something I learned from reading BTZ. You do it with great control and stuff, TDDS was just messed up at one point and I am quite in control over them now.
Anyway, I am done for and new preview probably up around tomorrow evening!
Additional Comment:
I am taking a bit of time off, since I am very busy at the moment, having a couple of tests coming up along with dealing with some other issues. Turn 25 will at least take another week, maybe two to be posted.

The Joker
I am waiting in the shadows…….
Ready to strike an innocent soul.
One soul careless enough to step onto my path.
The four that are left…..
The wind master, the master of the black feathers, the master of Doom and the master of the oceans……
They will fall one by one each in the hand of either me or my master…..
Who will be foolish enough to step onto my path?
Who will play my game? My game is without bets. All bets are off…..
Without boundaries…..
You die? You die for real…..
Once trapped in my game you have but one choice…..
Play my game……..
See you around…… and sleep tight.
Hahahahihahahahi

Joker: Spooky, very spooky. It seems you are a worthy addition to the Infinity Hunter universe. I look forward to more of your posts. You are also on the move in the CAC forum. You really are dark, Joker.
Above all, I loved this turn, because of the two new Synchro`s of Blake and this Guard Scorpion card. Also the Phoenix Armor monsters are interesting and nice additions to the Armor series. Also Kaito makes an appearance so early already, I thought he would show up again, but where the hell is he? He is no longer in the world of the living as he is shown to be in the hospital previously.
Now for some thoughts at the future. Gakyru obviously will be beaten at some point and I think our friend Ne'us will become the main player then, by coming into the human realm. Also I hope for a rematch between Tyson and Kaito once. They deserve one!
