"Once again, thine prowess of the Dark Magician shines through. I can't suggest any improvements. It's a really good deck." I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I don't know how new you are to the game itself, but you're the most skilled person new to Pojo's that I've ever seen, and certainly within my top ten overall. I have no idea how I could possibly make this deck any better. Good job.

Thanks, that means a lot to me. I'll be adding your deck and my deck to my signature...

And you took my quote... That makes me happy, too. lol

Now, I'm off to modify my signature and do Latin II homework...

And this is my 10th week as a duelist in any form. Perhaps I just have a mind for games... I still remember my first week, when I tried to build a Dark Magician deck without the proper support... In essence, a deck of the cards Atem used in Duelist Kingdom and Battle City. I then decided to take a look around the internet for research, and then I came up with a TCG version of this deck in my 3rd week. Again, the compliments are greatly appreciated.
Ya, I'm a fan of the dub, and the original. Hey, it's all good. And I love seeing how much will be changed...

Keep the reviews flowing, everyone! ^_^

I would have rated this, but Keyblademasta said the exact same stuff I was going to .. The Magician deck is truely at it's prime, nothing to fix, perfect. 10/10

Maybe
-1 Cyber Jar, -1 Peten
+2 Old vindictive Magician.. It's really hard to fix, that was job you did...

*Applauds* Truer words haven't been spoken. You have a gift for building the Dark Magician deck.

...I'm not used to such praise...Thanks to each of you.

Kakashi, Kyosuke, I await the creation of another deck from each of you. That way, I'll repay this in full.

In fact, If this reaction keeps up, I'll go abroad to see if I'm not just getting special Treatment from Pojo. The tough part is finding another DeckBuilding forum at this skill level with the same activity...Hmmm.

OMG... You are the black magician master!!!

And i'm not just giving you special treatment. This is the best magician deck i've ever seen, and if you're really a new player (which i can't believe at all) than yes you've got a mind for games! I have a couple fixes though:

-1 Swords of Sealing Light
-1 Greedy Goblin

+2 Baptism of Dark and Light

This way, you'll have an easier way of getting out chaos black magician.

I'm also really impressed with how much you elaborated on this. The card translations and their names in both the TCG and OCG... just plain amazing.
9.8/10

P.S. I'd love it if you go to my deck gallery on my sig and r/f the "do you believe in magic" deck. It's another variety of magician deck. Please check out the other decks there.

I'm not going for any "special treatment" to you, but that is one of the best Black Magician decks I have ever seen. I really love the deck, better that my own. It is fun, competitive and it can get to a point where it gets annoying. I have a fix for the deck:

- 1 Curtain of Black Magic
+ 1 Dimension Magic

Personally, I would also take out Wealthy Goblin and add a Devil's Sanctuary, but U don't want that one out. Still, it is very nice. Ill give it a 9/10, would give it more but nothing is perfect. Hope this helps you somehow. ^_^

Heh, that's the best Black Magician deck i've ever seen posted. It's nearly a mirror of my own deck list. Only difference being I incorporated Black Magician Girl and Jewel of the Wise into mine. Let's just say I was tired of being hit by Ring of Destruction everytime I played Curtain of Black Magic.

Sure. Should I add your Deck Gallery to my sig, or do you have a specific deck you'd like me to link to?

I'll add the Deck Gallery to the sig. Thanks for the advice, everyone. I've tried the Diffusion Waves, but they haven't worked out so great... I'll think of some plan to incorporate them.

Use Giant Germ in place of Apprentice Magicians..they work a lot better.

Also, drop 2 MoF and in their place I would run perhaps some Kycoo maybe..I had a Dark Magician deck I tore it down, so it's hard to judge. All I know is that Appretice Magicians aren't worth it. I tried using them and they hurt me more often than they helped.

no just the gallery
i've already added you and atem hehe...

And as for the giant germs, keep the apprentice magicians. They fit the theme a lot better and work a lot better too.

He's using the Apprentice Magicians to summon Magical Scientist. Giant Germ can't do that.

True: Germ's summon effect and Apprentice's Summon effect both share the same trigger: Death in battle. Both are DDVD bait, and both lead to deck thinning.

Germ is a Fiend with 1000 ATK and a small burn effect, that can only search out itself.

Apprentice is a Spellcaster that can search out itself, Faith Mage, or Magical Scientist. It also provides a free Spell Counter, which is also nice, especially in this deck.

Dimension Magic is also great alongside a face-up Apprentice Mage. Especially when you have a Skilled DM face up, with DMoC and DM in the hand. Now, take a look at the most situational thing I can think of right now:

1) Skilled DM is face-up on your field. No counters.
2) Summon Apprentice, add counter to Skilled by Apprentice effect.
3) Play Dimension Magic, tribute Apprentice to summon DMoC and destroy any monsters on the opponent's field. Add Counter to SDM, use DMoC effect to retrieve a spell in the grave.
4) Play the retrieved Spell, proceed with it's effect, provided that it does not remove SDM from the field. Add the final Counter.
5) Tribute SDM by effect for DM.

It may be situational, but I've done some playtesting. It's happened a lot in my tests. I think that I'll stick with Apprentice, just because of that free Counter. I see the Spec. Set as a bonus.

Ok, took a look at the cards suggested again by all posters. Deck Modified after consulting with Advisors.

Opinions and commentary are greatly encouraged. Any decks will be rated in return, as always.

I think this deck should have more of black magician feel to it. This is what i would do. And even though you might not like these changes, I highly recommend them. Oh, and you have too many monsters and not enough magics, and even though every monster is necessary, it's not good to have an uneven m/t : monster ratio. So tell me what you think:

Main Deck:
-1 Fiber Pod
-1 Saint Magician
-1 Greedy Goblin
-1 Swords of Sealing Light
-1 Hand Obliteration
-1 Emissary of Obliteration

+1 Curtain of Black Magic
+2 Black Magic
+1 Dimension Magic
+1 Diffusion Wave
+1 Initiation of Light and Dark
+1 Drain Shield

Sideboard:
-3 Black Magic
-1 Reactive Armor
-1 Dimension Magic

+1 Hand Obliteration
+1 Curtain of Black Magic
+1 Initiation of Light and Dark
+2 Shrink / Drain Shield

So the deck would look like this:

Monsters: 18
3 Black Magician
1 Black Magician of Chaos
3 Dark Clown Master Peten
3 Apprentice Magician
1 Magic Scientist
1 Magic Warrior Breaker
3 Skilled Black Magician
2 Saint Magician
1 Cyber Pod

Magic: 16
2 Black Magic
3 Dimension Magic
1 Curtain of Black Magic
1 Diffusion Wave
1 Initiation of Light and Dark
1 Emissary of Obliteration
1 Tempest
1 Jar of Greed
1 Early Burial
1 Cyclone
1 Theft
1 Change of Heart
1 Distressing Choice

Trap: 7
1 Cry of the Living Dead
1 Destruction Ring
1 Magic Cylinder
1 Sixth Sense
1 Deck Destruction Virus of Death
1 Tidal Wave
1 Drain Shield

Total: 41

Sideboard: 15
3 Marshmallon
1 Exclusivity Virus
3 Twilight Zone Warrior Girl
1 Killer Snake
1 Curtain of Black Magic
1 Sealing Swords of Light
1 Hand Obliteration
2 Shrink / Drain Shield
2 Reactive Armor

Fusion Deck: 18
3 Dragon Soldier
3 Dark Dragon Black Sword
3 Death Demon Dragon
3 Dark Demon Baltar
3 Thousand-Eyes Sacrifice
3 Kuricchi

Black Magic is Dark Magic Attack in the TCG. If you don't know the effect, here it is:

Black Magic
Magic Card
Effect: You can only activate this card when there is a face-up [Black Magician] on your side of the field. Destroy all Magic and Trap Cards on your opponent's side of the field.

Thanks for the Fixes. I'm considering some of them.

What I'm cofused about is the Ratio you speak of. I don't see how a balance of 20:12-16:4-8 can be uneven, but I'm not one to argue...

And I see Drain Shield in there, and I'm liking how it's there with DM Curtain. That's a good idea, and I'm a bit ashamed I didn't think of it... Oh, well.

Another note: Fiber, Peten, and DMoC kinda go together. If my opponent tries killing them, they're RFG'd. That really helps deck speed in a Fiber reset. On the note of "Initiation": I've only one DMoC, and having even one Initiation seems a bit... Odd to me. If I have more than one, that leads to bad topdecking and one wasted card slot, as Only one Initiation can now be used effectively in a duel. If I have only one, I won't draw it a lot.

Hmmm. I think I may be able to take this into a new direction, if I sideboarded Fiber and Peten x3 for something...

I'm still worried that Horus can really mess me up, though. It's beginning to get to me. If I run into BLS or Jinzo, I can just kill them through Dimension Magic... Not so with Horus. In fact, that's why I added quite a few certain cards on the last edition. Horus.
