Josh's kansas regional report with Morphtronics

So friday sucked ass, I had school all day until 5, and when I came home I had to finish chemistry homework and chemistry lab which blew. I needed to get some testing done with my morphtronics build before the regional because I made some big changes to it during the week. After I finally get done with all the chemistry, me and my roommates' friends came over and cooked this hella nice meal for us, im thankful for that. After I eat, I finally sit down at 11 and start thinking of tech ideas for my deck, and I still had a side deck to assemble. I tested some on yvd, and decided on a final build, but my side took a while, and I opted for a basic side, with DD crow, Kycoo, vortex, threatening, Jujus, Dust, and Oaths. I didnt get to sleep until 4 a.m. which sucked. I got up at 8 to go pick up Paul from KCMO, and I picked up an energy drink on the way. We get there, talk to people, and we start filling out our deck lists. We get our packs, I pulled decent ultimate fairy dragon, ultra wyvern, and a random super.

Round 1 JT (Morphtronics) vs tall old guy (Gladiator Beasts)

Duel 1-Mid game I go junk box scopen, use scopens effect ss from my hand, synch for blackrose, blow up his field, junk box scopen in defense normal summon boomboxen synch for stardust, with my body left in hand. I had game it appears because he proceeds to set monsters, so all I need to do is a draw a monster ftw, 5 turns go by and I didnt draw a damn one, and he eventually gets cards in hand leading to herk, running over stardust and it was over from there

Duel 2- Turn one set radion, bottomless and reckless and end. He summons I bottomless. Turn 2 I go reckless, summon scopen, special summon boomboxen, flip summon radion, attack and limiter during damage step for game

Duel 3- Dont remember how this game went exactly, I drew terrible the whole match which includes this duel, but it had drawn on for awhile, eventually gyzarus and sacking does me in.

Round 2 JT (Morphtronics) vs Mo (Sky Scourge Norleras bull****)

Duel 1- I go first, set boarden, mst, and end. He goes upstart goblin, pitch shenanigans, top deck dark creator for plague, summons chaos, copies norleras, pays and blows up, draws creator for nors effect, special summon creator removes chaos to special summon another 2500 monster (cant remember name), and theres basically nothing I can do from there with no hand or field.

Duel 2- This match was crazy because I got his field open somehow with a set radion in place, but he had 3 necros in grave and gold sarced a phantom of chaos last turn (so he gets it after my turn and would therefore blow up my field with norleras), you would think the otk is out of reach with the 3 NECROS, I flip summon radion, pitch boomboxen for one for one to get celfon, use his effect and hit radion, normal summon boomboxen, junk box boomboxen, gg.

Duel 3- This is where I get uber sacked. He opted to go first naturally, and first turn he pitches all these monsters and loads his grave, similar to the first match, he has norleras in grave, and summons phantom of chaos, he blows up, I have to discard my hand, and guess what he mother ******ing top decks? A dark creator, and no he didnt top deck it for plague either, this was pure luck sacking bull****. So he special summons creator, uses his effect and special summons another high attack monster. Again, with no field or hand there is nothing I can do unless I topped a mirror force, which I didnt.

0-2 and ******* pissed

Round 3 JT (Morphtronics) vs ? (Lightsworn)

(This was one of my quickest matches of the day, get wrecked.)

Duel 1- Cant remember that much from this match, but I remember 2 key things. He didnt set any backrow, which I wrecked him for that, and when I did go for the OTK he had 2 necros in the grave and he couldnt believe I had game lol. First turn I swung for 2400, leaving him at 5600, and then next turn it was gg.

Duel 2- He goes first and gets a nice setup, I think he had 3 monsters on field. I First turn lightning vortexed, which he ******* about, and it was all over for him from there.

(I was suprised I won that easily, the guy was a pretty good player.)

Round 4 JT (Morphtronics) vs Cesar Gonzalez (Vayu BWs)

Duel 1- I won the dice roll and opt to go first... I draw monster gate, celfon, machine dupe, mst, bottomless, radion... I set radion, set bottomless and end. He summons grepher, priority to pitch vayu, I chain bottomless, he sets back row and I mst in end phase. I summon celfon, activate his effect, hit a boarden, machine dupe celfon and get one more. Use the new celfons effect hit another boarden. Monster gate 1 celfon, hit another radion, GG.

Duel 2-Forgot how this duel started exactly, but it was longer. I remember at the end he had 2 shura on the field, with a whirlwind, and a facedown backrow card, and I believe he had three shura last turn, but he destroyed a facedown, special summoned vayu, synched for armed wing, and I bottomlessed. Anyway, he attacks my facedown boarden, and ends. I go celfon, machine dupe, use the firsts effect hit nothing, gate off the first, hit a boarden which sets me up for the otk, I have 2 celfon left on the field to use along with boarden and boomboxen, all I need at this point is a Radion and I have game because I suspected the facedown was a mirror force or a bottomless and I had my body in hand. I used both celfon's effects, roll freaking 2's both times, and dont hit a radion either time, so I attack directly for 3100, he flips mirror force, I my body and end. Next turn he goes DaD, and I cant recover. Im sort of pissed that I didnt hit that radion, because I actually had a chance to 2-0 him, which would have been insane.

Duel 3- This was the match everyone was talking about. The end of the duel setup is like this: I have a facedown monster, and a face up attack radion with mirror force, and my body set, with only DD crow in hand. He has bora face up, with 2 backrows. He normal summons bliz, and I DD crow his target, then he special summons DaD, and declares radion as the target, and I flip my body. He attacks with bora, and I mirror force. Next turn I go celfon, effect, hit a slingen pitched celfon to destroy one of the backrows, and he scooped it up moments later.

This is where the controversy came, i'll let you people decide how you want to take it. I had just won the match, and I check mark my name as the winner, he then takes the sheet to sign it, and he shades in my box, kind of like a scribble, and then he quickly puts a tiny little mark in his box, which I noticed out of the corner of my eye his hand over in that area and didnt think much of it.
My friend Foochan AKA Richard Richey asks if I won, and wants to see my results sheet, and he notices the discrepancy, and we immediately go to one of the judges. Then, everyone in the whole building found out. Im not really sure what to think, but I look at the simple fact that there is absolutely no reason that tiny little mark should have been in the box, and there is no other way it could have been in there, and given Cesars history, I am inclined to believe what most people believe, that he was trying to get a win. Round 5 JT (Morphtronics) vs ? (X-Sabers?)

I really didnt get a good look at his deck because I OTKed him pretty quick both duels

Duel 1-Dont remember much, this was my fastest match of the day by far, I do remember this was the first duel I opened with double reckless, and double reckless =gg.

Duel 2-Same as duel 1, dont remember much except for the fact that I just wrecked this duel. FTKed him this duel.

3-2 need one more win for my invite

Round 6 JT (Morphtronics) vs Havok (Lightsworn)

Worst round of the tournament by far

Duel 1- Opened with all monsters-gg, I wanted to rage after this.

Duel 2- Opened with an equally bad hand...no actually it was probably worse than the first one because I had 4 monsters, along with a couple useless spells: junk box, and my body. fml

3-3 With that loss, I couldnt top which really pissed me off, but then I was reminded I beat Cesar, so it was all good.

Round 7 JT (Morphtronics) vs Alex (Dark Varient)

Duel 1-get wrecked

Duel 2-see game 1

hey, nice job... everyone wants to build morph's now lol.

what kinda changes did u make to ur deck? u pmed me a list with cyber valleys but read on the morph guide that they didn't work out/were too slow for u?

Yeah, the Thursday and Friday before the regional I really sat down to improve my deck. One of the main problems I came up with were the Valleys, not only did I have to waste a normal summon on them (when I could have spent it on setting a radion/boarden, a piece of the OTK), but they slowed the deck down way too much, so I ended up taking them out. It also helped lower my monster count, because I was having a problem with drawing too many monsters. I also added 3 reckless greed to help speed it up, and I added morphing jar as well. The 3 reckless was more of test, and I think im going to keep it that way. Also, play jar right and its gg.

Its not too reliant but I do use them a lot; I only run 3 scopen, because I absolutely do not like remoten at all. The main synchro I go for is usually stardust, for obvious reasons, or blackrose because one of my main plays is blackrose the field, junk box scopen, use his effect, ss from the hand, synchro again for a direct swing. If you have multiple junk boxes in hand, thats when it gets really broke. Blackrose is actually rather situational, I either have to have no field advantage or they would have to be totally committed, so if I dont go for blackrose, then its definately stardust. Another interesting thing to note is lately ive been using a lot of ancient sacred wyvern, because with boarden, that synchro becomes sooo broke, ive actually OTKed with synchroing for 2 of them on multiple occasions, and its a level 7 so its obviously easily accessible.
