netrep closing up shop
Sadly my friends, it has come time for me to close up the shop. Deck Studio, RONIN, and netrep are to be decommissioned.
If interested, You can read full details on the news blog here: http://ccgtoolkit.com/blogs/toolkitn...-the-shop.aspx
I want to extend a personal thanks to pojo for allowing netrep to go "uncensored" for quite a while now. I think most of the link based traffic for netrep came from here, and I was quite happy with the feedback (both good and bad) I received during the redesign of the site.
Best of luck and keep dueling!!!

That's very unfortunate. Ever since Konami took over, netrep has been my go-to site in terms of looking up rulings. Hopefully Konami gets old card rulings on their site soon.
Thanks for your efforts over the years. Netrep has been a great help!

Kinda sad to hear that, but really, I'm sincerely grateful for everything that you have contributed to the Yugioh community over the years.
And best of luck in your future endeavors

That's a real shame. You have done wonders for the game and advancing the knowledge of players by keeping these informative sites up and running.
It's also a pity that Netrep is to be decommissioned just months after it's recent upgrade.
So, is this the last we will be seeing of you Sean? I really hope not, as you have been a close friend and personal mentor of mine for many years.
There aren't many of 'our kind' left in the game anymore and I really hope you will still be able to join us on Pojo and help me in my 'one woman crusade' to uphold the 'Fiendish cause'.

Thanks for everything you've done Seán, you've been a great (and often unsung) asset to the Yu-Gi-Oh! community over the years and it's a shame to see you go.

When I read the blog/news post, the only words I could think of at the time were, "Wow" and "Damn".
It is a true shame to see something so great "close up shop". It truly is.
I can't say much, but thank you Sean for all of what you did for the Yugioh communiuty, even if half of it didn't know.

Indeed.
It's the end of an era in the history of the game & I am personally shocked and saddened.
I am one who was fully aware of Sean's great contributions to the game and what a true 'unsung hero' he is/was.
Many will not understand this..all of the work, the time & man hours he spent 'behind the scenes' so that we all may enjoy this game.
Also, I am deeply upset by that blog, but slightly relieved to know he is keeping all of his Fiend Decks..so there still may be a glimmer of hope. =)
What you all may not know about Sean, is that he has 2 baby twin girls & he has a job that keeps him very busy and he moves around a lot. I am surprised that he found the time he did.
Eventually though, reality bites & it bites hard. Yugioh priorities must eventually give way to real life ones & we all just gotta respect that. =)
It's great that Michael (another friend) is taking up the gauntlet at the COG & I must renew my acquaintance & membership there.
I have been a friend of Seans throughout the 'heady days' of The Cookieslayer Collective & The Lair of Dark Monarchs (where my user-title actually comes from..it has nothing to do with Caius)..
So, now you guys may understand why I am like I am & say what I do..
Personally, I think I shall go into 'mourning' for a few days. This royally sucks!!

He is pretty new to the boards so perhaps this is just a misunderstanding. Of course, if it was intended to flame, simply ignore it. That's what people who say such things (with the intent to harm) want you to do.
Anyways, I am very sad that Netrep is going down. It has helped me to grasp the game quickly and to try new things with decks. It was my go to site for rulings and quick card searching. Sad day indeed.

Sorry to hear it go. I remember when it was the go-to site for rulings, even though YGO Wikia has more-or-less surpassed it.

Those who have worked on Netrep over the years are among those who have tirelessly contributed to making the game how popular it is....and did the job of distrubuting rulings information better than the companies who distributed the game itself.
I fully understand the decision, though I regret it on a self center note. Family and paying jobs come first!
Thank you for your outstanding contributions in the past and God bless you and yours!

I feel lost, does that mean I now have to use YGO Wikia.
Well it's a shame and good to finaly meet the person behind Netrep actualy. Best of luck in the future. Remember thousands of ygo players/duelists have got better at the game because of you. I for one wouldn't know half the rulings I would know for if it wan't netrep.

If i show them YGO Wikia they just go(HEY THAT CAN BE EDITED BY ANYONE BLAH BLAH BLAH)
You have no idea how many people I've had to show netrep, particularly when people try to use Dark World monsters with cards like Magic Jammer
...****.

YGO Wikia isn't that bad if you are looking for rulings and such. But when it comes to speculation, Wikia is very unreliable.

I can't believe it, Netrep was my favorite card search engine. And its where I got all my rulings from.

I've used netrep, was like the only place to get rulings other than upperdeck for the longest. Now we have yugioh wiki and we still have nesso and frank debrito on pojo to ask about rulings.

Crap. I loved using Netrep and I had Deck Studio on my desktop. Sucks to hear that's just suddenly going away.
Thank you, Sean. Your contributions have been extraordinary.

Wikia is actually accurate on rulings, as they've just been copied from UD and Netrep. It's the speculation and deck tips that are off-kilter.

I was hoping this would all just be a bad dream...
Like I said on the blog, Netrep's existence literally made the difference between me getting back into this game, and me deciding to give it up for good. I don't know how I would ever have been able build decks or learn as much about this game as I have without it, so I'm more than greatful for what you & your lab'mates have done for the community as a whole. I'd even go as far as to say that Netrep was the best thing to happen to yugioh since its creation.
I say this because having so much at our fingertips within seconds was (& still is) a level of perfection that The Borg would be proud of, and something that will greatly be missed by everyone whose had the pleasure of using it.
Edit -

So the best resource for deckbuilding & card knowledge isn't relevant to Yugioh?
