Wings of Heaven and Earth
alright...i was seriously bored one night and i somehow came up with this idea for a blackwing twist.
...and for FYI, I refuse to totally follow the meta. I rather change it up a bit.
For the time, its only tested one tourney since my car starter went out, so I haven't managed a complete run through of major decks yet (GB, LS, etc). Id love to see this more competitive, so any fixes and advice would greatly help.
update 6/28/09
Monsters: 21
3x Thunder King Rai-Oh
1x Sacred Crane
3x Honest
1x Sangan
2x Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow
2x Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame
2x Blackwing - Bora the Spear
3x Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind
1x Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North
1x Morphing Jar
1x Dark Armed Dragon
1x Chaos Sorcerer
Spells: 11
2x Allure of Darkness
1x Dark Eruption
1x Monster Reborn
1x Heavy Storm
1x MST
1x Giant Trunade
1x Black Whirlwind
1x Swallow's Nest
1x Brain Control
1x Mind Control
Traps: 9
3x Solemn Judgment
2x Compulsory Evacuation Device
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
update 6-11-09: took updated version to locals tonite, and took 1st place overall!! i think after seeing that run 2 weeks going, im definitely settled on knoxville regionals in 2 weeks.
update 6/28/09: the night before, i had some friends playtest extensively for an extra overview of the deck. a few chamges were made, while still keeping the same idea overall. took to regionals and took 19th out of about 75 people, which makes me one happy cookie!!!
only decks i lost to were bushi (totally unprepared), six samurai (riptastic hand duel 3), and cat syncro (just couldnt draw a blackwing for quick syncro in duel 3). I managed 1 FTK and 1 OTK, and make a very large amount of people freak out.
basically, said deck gets me invite!

Do you find a lot of 1000 Atk monsters summoned where you are as it's curious that you'd chose Trap Hole over Bottomless as BTH works on Special Summoned Monsters. Also I would side the Trap Dustshoot and drop the Mirror Force for two Threatening Roar. Sacred Crane is interesting here, I haven't seen that since the days of The Creator decks, how's it working?

i am siding the BTH, but right now, especially against the BW mirror match, i am finding that early trap holes are extremely effective.
for the threatening roars...it definitely feels more like a soild idea than trap dustshoot, but im not sure over mirror force just yet, but ill test
update on testing: finally took on LS, works well so far. but still needs to test against GB
Additional Comment:
bump update
Additional Comment:

A friend of mine uses this build, it works well, but he gets ***** by me. Still, using this, it's more consistent, and faster.

well... i was going for more of a control aspect, but its got the job done. i still would like to make it better, mainly in the case of cat syncro, which tends to go off faster than i can normally set up

I'm curious why you're using more Honests than Kaluts?

pewsily: eh...good question. i really dont have an answer for it. it just kinda came together that way. plus since i wasnt searching a whole lot like the standard BW decks, i wanted to keep the number of each BW copy to 2 (gales and blizzard were exception)

My concern was also the 3 Honest. It doesn't seem like they would be productive with that many targets. Other than that 9/10 Good for you for not following the crowd.
Can you look at the Kuriboh Deck in my sig.?
