Beast King Barbaros vs Skill Drain
I was at my local the other day, and I feel as if I got screwed over a match because no one knew the ruling of Beast King Barbaros vs Skill drain. Here is what happened.
Player A (my opponent)
Directly attacks with murmillo, tags out for Laquari, boosting Laquari's attack to 2100.
Player B (me)
Has skill drain set face down in the backfield. Normal summons Beast King Barbaros at 1900 attack points. I attack into Laquari, Player A has no response. I chain Skill Drain to the attack.
My question is, does Barbaros get boosted up to 3000 attack points? I feel it does, but I would like to hear what everyone else has to say about it with some reasons.

Barbaros goes to 3000.
The effect that halves his ATK is negated.

it does...see fusilier dragon's rulings. laquari also goes back down to its original attack.

The reason that Barbaros' attack is decreased is due to his effect. If said effect is no longer active, then the decrease is no longer applied.
In short - Barbaros will be treated as a "just read the ink" card.

Thank you for the advice guys. I thought I was correct and now I intend on convincing the judges at my local that this is the correct ruling.

I knew about these rulings on skill drain were correct; I just needed proof. It just sucks how I was once a judge and how my locals doesn't agree with me.

there is a chance that we'll be able to keep our judge levels, so take solace in that.
