WoW Minis at Gencon 08

I had the chance to demo this game at Gencon this year... and I have to say... it's pretty fun.

The game is based on cards for your minis which show stats, spells, and abilities. The turns are based off what you do and what you use. So, if you attack, you turn your time counter up 3 clicks and that new number shows your next turn. This applies with spells and abilities.

There's definitely a lot of strategy that goes on. The object is to get as many victory points as your characters are worth. So, if you have 2 characters that are worth 6 honor each, then you need to score 12 points to win. Killing enemy characters net 4 honor while staying near the center of the map nets 1 point during turns 5 and 10.

I suggest people who are familiar with WoW or minis in general to check it out. Might be worth your time ;p

The time factor may be the greatest factor, much like the speed factor was in The Spoils. The game is definitely interesting with a lot of factors to account for. I wonder if it will supersede Heroclix and other similar mini-games.

it was GREAT! I even won the special tourny they held...the random entry ones. I got to keep all 6 minis and I wont he Veramathras. The game is really based on time management. That is your key to success. As far as overthrowing Heroclixm only time will tell but same was said about Halo clix....nuff said. WoW has a big following but even the TCG numbers are dwindling. The economy is in the crapper and people cant afford alot of extras. My hope is that this will pick up majorly. I am excited to see it hit shelves.
