What about Contests (which was a big part of Ruby and Sapphire)? And exactly how many PKMN are in the games (202 like Ruby and Sapphire, or 151 like the originals, will there be a few Johto/Hoen PKMN, or will it all be Kanto PKMN and their (un)evolutions)?

Wow these games look really good I may even get a copy. I would have thought that they could come up with more imaginative names for the islands instead of island 1 and island 2 those are just drab.

Are they sticking with fire red and leaf green or will leaf green be ocean blue?

That would be a very good Idea. I would also like to see all the different regions in one game. It wouldn't all fit but it would be cool.

That wouldn't really work, unless the GBA has some memeory to store info while you switch carts, or a password, but i doubt the password thing would work

As far as I know, it doesn't...

The password thing could work, but then people could also get to stuff by just guessing passwords...so maybe not. And it would be a really long password if you wanted to keep all your stuff.

Yeh this game is goign to be great most liekly the older pokemon will be in it and the graphics are wicked awesome like r/s equivalents. @ mystery island but other then that looking at the new pictures on Serebii.net the places look almost exactly the same for example the "expresso" guy in r/b/y that picture looks exactly the same but with better graphics. And they have cool mini games and they got a cool adapter that you can battle/ play mini games with up to 5 people from 33 feet away with no wire thats just sick. And the new pokedex is awesoem it tells you what you can catch in the area and all teh tm's are from r/s and they have 1 or 2 hms that werent in the older r/b version

so, wait... why would they update the original if they were just going to add all sorts of new stuff, plus have all the monsters?

Wouldn't it just be like R/S, except in Kanto?

Not all Pokémon are in these games. It's different than the originals for obvious reasons, and you'll be able to trade so you can now have a team in Kanto with a Pokémon from the Hoenn Region. And also, The Ruby and Sapphire games wuld not be complete without the other Pokémon.

I'm taking a guess here, but:

Remember when you could trade between G/S/C and the original R/B/Y, but only if none of the Pokemon knew moves that didn't exist in the older games (the time machine thingy)?

I suspect they did it to avoid that problem. If they created a TM/HM that doesn't exist in R/S, it wouldn't recognize it, and you wouldn't be able to trade that TM/HM or a Pokemon that knows it from F/G to R/S.

If the games are really have a lot of differences from Ruby/Sapphire, I might buy one of them... but I'd have to re-finish Sapphire first (old file was deleted on accident).

Lightbulb

you must remember..they are loads of moves that were programmed into R/S but weren't actaully learnable by any pokemon ....moves Like Hydro cannon /Blast burn/ volt tackle may be in there along with some other moves

But it's easy to fix that problem, you just don't allow trading of TM/HMs between the games. As long as they were previously existing moves on the Pokémon themselves, that would be fine.

If the games were to be compatable, they would have to have the TMs and HMs the same... otherwise there would basically be 100 TMs available... and that's not cool.

Default rockslide

I know everyone is grieving about the tms. But thats why I shark. Not only that think about pokemon that could learn swords dance, earthquake, and rockslide. That would not be cool for nintedo. I would like it but they won't.
