He didn't carry his wand. Qurrel carried it in the first book, he wasn't in the second book really, same with the third and in the fourth Pettigrew could ahve easily cast spells for him.

in the fourth book, he had the body of what was discribed as a small infant, and that he did use a wand to kill the old man in the first chapter. where he got his wand, i don't know. Maybe wormtail gave it to him?

Maybe his force is so powerful that the wand can't protect itself.

if he didnt carry his wand around, how did he kill the old man?? and that wand must be his, because it had the same phoenix's feather as harry's wand. and if he left his wand at where he was trying to kill harry, the ministry of magic would destroy it.

Wormtail could have been actually holding the wand and had you-know-who in his lap.

This is not possible. On page 15 of the Goblet of Fire, it says that Wormtail has to turn the chair that has Voldemort in it so that Voldemort can face Frank. Then Voldemort raises a wand and kills him.
Heres the quote of Voldemort killing Frank
"He was screaming so loudly that he never heard the words the thing spoke as it raised a wand."

This is an interesting question. It is certain the Wormtail could not have carried it for ten years because he was with Percy/Ron for that time. He could not have carried it himself because he did not have a body. It is possible that there is some magical theory to this but i certainly don't have a clue how.

He has so many supporters, I'm sure someone just got him a new wand.

But if they got him a new wand, then the whole priori incantatem (sp?) thing wouldn't have happened and Harry probably would have died.

Then they nicked his old one from the ruins of the Potter's house.
[ I think in the first book it says that Harry had to be gotten out quickly because people were making a crowd there. I might be wrong though ]

Hmm.
Chances are that Wormtail took it from the ruins of Harry's house and hid it somewhere. Remember that wizards seem to be pretty good at identifying their wands. Voldemort could have also probably had Wormtail go back to the remains of Harry's house and get his wand. One way or another, Voldemort found a way to do it. He simply has too many supporters.

Either that, or Voldemort enchanted it somehow so that it would either go with him anywhere he went, or return to him at his call (the latter, more likely) - heck he could probably have even just used the accio spell with a borrowed wand, for all we know. I'm sure there are other ways that we could only imagine. Some sort of magical connection anywhays.
