So, what card couldn't you live without?
This question is for all you top decks around...
-Is it Dark Armed Dragon? Dark Magician of Chaos/DDude? Grandmaster/Shien?
-OR is it those Cyber Valleys, DDraws, and Allures?
I've had a bit of success countering the new powerhouses answering the first question by playing Gravekeepers or Macro. I'm wondering, (based on some Metagame article that does make sense) if I could make a deck based on the second question. Unlike metagame which used a Counter-Trap Oppression Gadget build, I'll try to make a more permanent solution to those draw cards...
Deck 1: Protector's Monkey Wrench
Monsters: 22
3 Giant Rat
2 Protector of the Sanctuary
3 Des Koala
1 Spirit Reaper
1 Marshmallon
1 Morphing Jar
3 Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch
1 Raiza the Storm Monarch
1 Injection Fairy Lily
1 Neo-Spacian Grand Mole
1 Green Baboon, Defender of the Forest
1 Treeborn Frog
1 Gyaku-Gire Panda
1 Kinetic Soldier
1 Cyber Dragon
Spells: 9
2 Foolish Burial
2 Book of Moon
1 Brain Control
1 Swords of Revealing Light
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Heavy Storm
1 Pot of Avarice
Traps: 9
2 Magic Drain
1 Dust Tornado
1 Torrential Tribute
1 Mirror Force
1 Ceasefire
1 Ojama Trio
1 Magic Cylinder
1 Trap Dustshoot
Well, that's protection directed towards the now-defunct Baboon Burn. The full complement of Thestalos is for added disruption for both dead draw-cards and real threats like DAD, etc. I started this idea when trying to find a consistent way of halting a draw engine, thus adding the Rats, and after establishing a Ratbox, the rest kinda ended up like that...
Deck 2: Comic Protection
Monsters: 13
3 Protector of the Sanctuary
1 Sangan
1 Morphing Jar
1 Spirit Reaper
1 Marshmallon
2 Des Koala
3 Stealth Bird
1 Kinetic Soldier
Spells: 11
3 Wave-Motion Cannon
2 Hammer Shot
2 Book of Moon
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Swords of Revealing Light
1 Scapegoat
1 Level Limit-Area B
Traps: 16
3 Royal Oppression
3 Solemn Judgment
3 Dark Bribe
1 Trap Dustshoot
1 Magic Drain
1 Gravity Bind
1 Ceasefire
1 Magic Cylinder
1 Mirror Force
1 Torrential Tribute
Kudos to Pennicott for his tech ideas, namely the use of Kinetic Soldier and Oppression instead of Skill Drain, allowing faster Burners like the Bird and Koala, but also Protector. Well, this one's more defensive, and equally as hated as the previous. I'm not sure if one can chain Ceasefire to flip Protector in response to a first turn allure/Ddraw, so this deck is better for Protector's protection, but slower to unload Protector onto the field.
Anyway, any constructive crits are always accepted. thx

Thanks,
Well, I wasn't specifically thinking of countering T-Exodia, but actually the other common types, namely DAD Return and DDT. Six Samurai get hit by losing SSUnited, but are probably the biggest gap in my deck, so I'm planning on siding Kinetics and a few other stuff. (Oh, and if any FTK achieves a FTK, but that's pretty inconsistent even with the best builds, and nothing anyone can do against that)...
Funny, I don't really consider these decks original; they're teched versions of BBurn and COBurn. Sub the Kinetics, Protectors and Oppressions for Gardnas, Spies and Skill Drain, and it's a perfectly normal deck...
Er...could you recommed the BBurn or COBurn variant, one over the other, thanks.
