Default Multi/rainbow energy

If you have a pokemon on the field, say, seviper, and you use deadly poison, it says you may discard a green energy attached to it to poison the opponents pokemon, but can you discard a rainbow energy or a multi energy and still get the effect? Also do rainbow and multi energy's count for dark or steel? If anyone can answer this for me I'd appreciate it.

Yes you can Discard a Rainbow or Multi Energy card that is providing the G energy necessary (as long as it does not state "basic energy card" both Rainbow and Multi can be used).
Yes both Rainbow and Multi can also provide Metal and Darkness energy but they do not provide the bonuses that actual Metal and Darkness energy cards provide.

i always wondered what happened if you had like a pokemon like team aqaus corphish, and you count multi as dark, and have a steel energy on it too. can you change multi into a basic energy for the effect of dark poison? cause it says it does not count as a basic energy off the field, what about on?

No, it's never a Basic Energy card, it's always a Special Energy card.
That text is meaningless and I wish they'd drop it.

I'am not really that sure but iI think you can because you got choose and if you and if you choose a leaf one you can discard it.

If you're not sure, then please don't guess.
My answer is correct.
If an attack says to discard an energy card of a certain color, Rainbow or Multi can be used.
If an attack says to discard a basic energy card of a certain color, Rainbow or Multi CANNOT be used (because they are not basic energy cards.

Also note that you don't "choose" the color or Rainbow or Multi. They are all colors, all the time. Like a, well, a rainbow.
