ATK/0 DEF/0

The King of all Snakes Vennominon is an 8 star monster so it needs to have 2 tributes or to be special summoned by a Spell or Trap card. So you cannot use Mystic Tomato and basically summon a gigantic monster on your opponent's turn. You can use Premature Burial or Call of the Haunted to bring him back from the grave. Also you could use Damage = Reptile when you take at least 1 point of damage.

Vennominon will not lose any ATK because of Venom Swamp unaffecting this cards. It wont lose the 500 ATK each turn, but it will gain 500 for each Reptile in the graveyard. So you special summon this guy (in most cases) in the mid-game and he'll probably have around 2500 to 3500 ATK. No monster can get over that ATK unless it was limitered. If your opponent can't defense against against a Snake King this big you will probably win the duel unless they have a Smashing Ground or a Sakurestsu Armor type card.

Even though it could be that strong being defeated in battle is still a possibility. If this happens you can special summon him by removing 1 Reptile Type monster from your graveyard from play. You'll still get a huge monster, but it will be 500 ATK less. If it was not by battle and by effect of a card instead this would be better, but there is a certain card that allows you get a bigger snake on the field regardless of how Vennominon was sent to the grave or the removed from play pile.

Its ATK starts off at 0 so it'll need powered up by its own effect. The defense will be 0 forever unless a card has been played, but you'll have to watch out for a Book of Moon because witht he new format a Nobleman of Crossout may be the next card after that Book. If there isnt a Crossout afterward then its ok because any monster can destroy it by battle and you can revive it right then and there.

This card will be deadly and powerful used in the mid game and with Damage = Reptile the strongest monster will be yours. If you can have some direct attacks then its over in a matter of a few turns, but with the battle revival effect it won't be such as good because the strongest monster usually isn't destroyed by battle.

Traditional: 1/5
Advanced: 4/5 - For Venom Decks.
Art: 4/5 - "King to E4. Checkmate."

Am I the only one who wishes the name "Lord Poison" hadn't been taken and used on this card instead?

Anyway, King Poison, as I'll be calling him, is a very balanced card. He begins with 0 attack points (and 0 defense points). However, it is Level 8, so unless summoned by a Magic or Trap card (it can NOT be summoned by another Monster's Effect), it needs two sacrifices. Then, King Poison gains 500 ATK for each Reptile in your Graveyard.

So, odds are this should be summoned in the mid to late-game where I would expect this card to have an average of 3000 attack points, which is solid, but then we come to the terrible and very obvious flaw this card has. This card has 0 defense, and it doesn't increase like the ATK. Enemy Controller = Dead.

Oh, and by the way, Enemy Controller is going to be back, and big, so expect to see it. On another note, this is good that you can remove a Reptile from your Graveyard to Special Summon this card, but what's to stop someone from ramming a DD Warrior Lady into it jus to take a little damage and remove your monster?

Ratings:

Traditional: 1/5

Advanced: 3.5/5 Even in the Deck, the 0 defense drawback sucks, and if it's removed, your whole plan could be ruined.

The big guy for venom decks. He will make your opponent tread lightly, as if he is destroyed, then Vennominaga could be making an appearance via Rise of the Snake Deity. He is not as good as his older sister, but he can easily be summoned via Damage=Reptile as well as being a friend of the dump and revive. He is solid, but will see play only to bring out Vennominaga.

Traditional-1/5
Advanced-3/5

Well how fitting, we get to see the king, and he has some really amazing power. Early game, he isn't so hot, but late game he's a monster just like the queen. The great thing, is that this can just come back to haunt your opponent. Another great this is that the combos with this card, like Venom Swamp, to do even more damage, and you can feel good to know when you have another monster or 2, with the King only having 0 DEF then you're safe from Smashing Ground. Though be aware that there still are ways around him like Enemy Controller, Brain Control and Fissure. Overall he is really good for Venom Decks and is just the start to the madness. The end to it, we will go into more tomorrow. =]

Traditional: 1/5 King of Snakes or Emperor Dragon? Emperor Dragon it is!
Advanced: 3.5/5 Though he is a Level 8, once he gets going, that's pretty much it.
