Reaper is better just because of the discard effect.

Mashy better anywhere else except in Monarch with 3 instant fusion and 3 BoL or in a Zombie deck.
Indestructible and 1000 burn, too good to be left out.
Additional Comment:
I doubt you would want to left that 300 ATK reaper in attack mode for a card.

thats da point....reaper is more aggresive by his discard effect...IMO that makes him better than marshy....and even reaper is more cheap...mashy is at .....80$?>>>.///// reaper cost 1$....

I would leave my reaper in attack mode and let it be attacked all day if it meant I could also take their card the next turn.

Always we run Reaper. Not always, we run Marsh.
Money is also a factor.

Reaper is basically better. But Marsh is still a good card.

People love to discard for "free advantage".
Advantage > Burn anyday.
Spirit Reaper will always have a place in a deck.

Lasting on the field longer is Marshy's job. He does that better than reaper.

Marshmallon has been limited since March '05 in Japan, and Reaper has been limited since September '06.

taking 1/8th there lifepoints(almost guaranteed without attacking)>Taking 1 card from there hand(only if the opponent have no monster to protect their LP)
Most of the time Spirit Reaper will not get a chance to attack directly, at least in my experience with the card.

someone on a different forum posted something that i agree with, i would run Reaper over marshy because it dies on target forcing your opponent to use a card to target it so it cant be used to stop one of your more powerful monsters.

A card is better than 1/8 lp's, but the fact that if you target it with many of the cards that will be run after sep. 1 (Shrink, Econ, etc.) makes Marshy better IMO. It's got no specific way to die.
So I suggest running Marshy over Reaper, but I suggest that you run both even more. Both = Lotsa Tribute fodder.
Reaper's card discard is REALLY good, but it may not be as great next format, since it will most likely be an aggro format, where your opponent can ram their topdecked jinzo with limiter into reaper for 4500 damage, and probably game.

Personally I like Marshmallon better. Here is my reasoning: with the new format, things are gonna be much more aggressive and a lot of the game play is gonna be about pounding face, and who can do it faster. With that said, life points have a greater significance and 1000 life points mid to late game could be the stake in the coffin for your opponent. With double summon, and 2 pot of avarice, and even less monster destruction etc. open fields are gonna be hard to come by, dropping reapers discard effect even more b/c the opportunity just won't be there. Finally with Jinzo's and decrees running rampant(I'd assume any way) quick plays like controller and shrink will be the norm. That goes to say reaper dies while marshmallon lives. I think this time around marshmallon is just a more practical card. Not necessarily better over all, cuz everyone loves that discard effect(myself included) and in most cases IS better then 1000 life points, but not this format, not in my eyes.

I say Reaper. It's not like your opponent will purposely attack Marshmallon after he attacked it the first time.

Reaper because it discards.
Marshmallon this format is going to be bad. Nobleman's at 2, Shield Crush is coming out soon. Its invulnerability in battle isn't going to mean much. It'll still die soon enough.

actually, 1/8 lps or 1000 lps is worth a card. ever hear of confiscation? haha. Everyone plays it for a reason.
they're both great. i like reaper's discard...but if your opponent wants to brain control, soul exchange a face up reaper, they can't. they can take and trib off your marsh.

if confi was for 1500 or 2000 lps...nobody would play it. people love 1 for 1's...if they wouldn't pay more for it, it's not one for one.

In general I would use spirit reaper.
It`s easy to create openings and his discard effect often forces the oponnent to either lose a card or waste a defensive trap.
If you`re lucky he looses a card and later has to play removal.
Also spirit reaper can be summoned by mystic tomato, which has better targets than shining fairy.
And don`t forget, if I get marshmallow with shining fairy, he already lost his burn effect, since he comes into play faceup.
I can see a lot of people running both though and in burn which can make good use of shallow grave marshmallow is better by far.
