Secrets of the Gallant
Normal Trap Card
Select 1 Normal Monster you control. When the selected monster inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent this turn, your opponent discards 2 random cards.

Normal Monster decks get a lot of help with this card. Already having cards like Justi-Break, Gene-Warped Warwolf, Birthright, Non-Spellcasting Area and Ancient Rules, they get this card. Normal decks needed help, and did they get it. Just think of having your Normal monster just do damage and then your opponent loses 2 cards. That is game breaking for any deck. Some talk about the MAzera Deville 3 card discard, but that takes so many other cards, this is 2 cards and you don't pay lifepoints you just have to do damage. It's a free Delinquent Duo and taking 2 cards from your opponent's hand can really lead to their Demise. With big normal monsters out there, and Summoned Skull having 2500 ATK, you should be able to do damage and make your opponent lose many cards.

Traditional: 1/5 Normal decks aren't too good here.
Advanced: 2.5/5 This card can help many normal decks and even water control decks with the Giga family.

I like this.

You need to have a reason to dedicate yourself to a deck full of non-effect monsters.

High ATK is one good reason, specific support cards that protect them are another, and Skill Drain works out very well also. This just adds to it.

It's a free 2-for-1 assuming you can press for damage with a Normal. The normal deck has lots of neat tricks -- it's not TIer 1 or Tier 1.5 YET, but it can be if someone makes it right.

1/5 Traditional
3/5 Advanced

I like this card. You need to properly build a Deck of non-effect monsters for it to be used, obviously. A Blue Eyes Deck wouldn't be a bad choice, filled with Luster Dragons and other powerful non-effect monsters, or any other Deck that involves monsters as a family or group working together. It is a +1 for you, as your opponent loses two cards to your one, being the Trap itself.

Ratings:

Traditional: 1.25/5 I really don't see this as a viable option here.
Advanced: 2.75/5 It has some potential, in the proper Deck.

Art: 3/5
