By the time Dumbledore dies, Voldemort will probably be gone. And if Dumbledore dies before the series ends, it'll probably be in book seven where either Voldemort or Harry dies.
Not to mention that Harry would still be "underage" at that point. If Fred and George were too young in OotP, Harry will be too young as well. Not to mention the fact that Lupin, Moody, The Weaslies, Tonks, and maybe even Snape would never let Harry into the Order, much less run it. Plus, if Sirius were around, he'd definetely take Mrs. Weasly's side.
The only prediction I have for the Order is that Fred and George will become members in the next book. With a permanent location in Diagon Alley, I would think that'd put them in a great position to get "information".

I think Moody will lead the order if Dumbledore dies.

I don't see Dumbledore dying - not in the slightest, but I think Harry might become a member of the Order next book. I see no reason why he shouldn't be allowed to join. He's the man basically and everyone else knows it.

I can see Moody leading the order. It wouldn't even be too much of a stretch to consider Mr. Weasly, Lupin or even Snape for the leader should Dumbledore bite it.

If you think about it, it makes sense. When Voldemort finally dies, the world will be safe again. Free from the burden of guarding against the darkness, Dumbledore would be able to pass on in peace.

I agree. I don't think that Dumbledore will die. I think he will be more of a coach for harry. Then once harry is trained up a bit and gets rid of voldy i think he will pass in peace as stated above.

It would be very symbolic. The end of an era, as the old guard steps aside to make way for the new.

re:
I snort at that statement. You know what else is symbolic? The student surpassing the teacher...and the teacher being there for it.

My thoughts: If/When Dumbledore dies it will probably be saving Harry and Dumbledore will kill Valdemort, but when Dumbledore dies I don't think the Order will not be needed because when Valdemorts gone, I have a feeling Draco or his father will take over.

I kind of see it in Star Wars terms. Dumbledore and Voldemort are opposites. They represent good and evil, respectively. I think that when Voldemort dies, Dumbledore will as well, maybe before, maybe after. This will sort of return balance to the Force, so to speak.

Except of course for the fact that just about everything particularly bad is sugar coated. Or blown way out of proportion. I STILL don't see the big deal about Sirius. Whenever something bad happens, everybody tries to hide it, or deny it, anybody with that authority anyway. IT may not SEEM like sugar coating, but it is.

That's a good point. Everything would be normal again, with no extremes on either side.
