Heavy Mech Support Platform -Playable?-
Quote:
Heavy Mech Support Platform
***
Dark/Machine
Once per turn, if you control this monster on the field, you can equip it to a face-up Machine-Type monster on your side of the field as an Equip Card, OR unequip it and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. When equipped to a monster by this card's effect, that monster gains 500 ATK and DEF. (1 monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, this card is destroyed instead.)

Ok I was just looking thro my common pile and came across this. It's effect seems pretty nice since it can give my machines a nice 500 ATK boost and make them survive being saku armoured or smashed or fissured (since Mech will be destroyed instead).
So is this card playable in a machine deck?

Ofcourse it is! This card protects the monster that it is equiped to from being destroyed by battle or card effects(like Limiter Removal).

Ahh but is it competitive enough to be ran. It seems like a bad top.
And could it be used in a Cyberdark deck?

You're right! It can also be great in a Cyberdark deck. ^_^

It's good.. You have to know how to use it with machine deck. It works well with Gadget and Cyberdark deck. Give it a try..

Its good in a machine deck if you use Machine Duplication and Card Trooper along with it. A Roll Out! or two would definitely catch your opponent by surprise.

i dont see how its good in cyberdark. A monster can only be equipped with one union monster at a time. Or does the dragon not count?

Dragons doesn't count as union monster but as a equip spell card.

Yeah I would say it's either one or the other.
Maybe Heavy Mech Support Platform for deck that use specific monster like Ancient gear Golem or Dragon. And Cyber Phoenix for multipay machines like gadgets.
Still Heavy Mech gurrattes your monster is safe from destruction once while Cyber Phoenix just stops most things, but that smashing ground or fissure or mirror force can still stop you.

Combine it with Frontline Base, it works great with Heavy Mech Support Platform.

Really good in Machine Decks. You can use it in combo with Cyber Dragon. It would make Cydra unbeatable. Well amost anyway.

Best combo with Heavy Mech is equipping it to any machine and playing Limiter Removal. At the end of the turn Heavy Mech is destroyed instead and the machine Heavy Mech was equipped to keeps the full attack it had when it was Limitered.
If you want to play Heavy Mech, Frontline Base and Rollout will help you get it out onto the field easier and more often.

I just started playing around with them after some changes to my deck took cyber phoenix out.
It works wonders in conjunction with enemy controller. I mean let's say it's on a monster, and like you have say Ancient Gear Beast, or even a Ancient Gear Engineer (which I use with rats) well, just unequip your Mech from your monster (most likely a cyber dragon, or maybe another beast/engineer) and summon your new monster. Then flip roll out (if you have it) and suddenly you have 2 monsters, a union (which i believe you can unequip since he was just summoned) and your opponent is down one monster.
