Utinni Format Tournament discussion
Hey all!
Thought I'd start a new thread for discussion about this sanctioned format. Here are the official rules as per the WotC site:
__________________________________________________ _______________
Game Play
Build a 100- or 200-point squad (depending on the tournament's build limit) and select a map for use with it. Once paired and seated, hand everything to your opponent. He will attempt to win using the squad that you built, and vice versa.
Map choice and set up proceeds as normal.
Special Build Rules
No more than two of any miniature can be used.
Each squad must have a build of at least 98 points (100-point build) or 198 points (200-point build) and no more than the maximum build points.
Squads must contain at least four and no more than 11 miniatures.
You must supply all reinforcements, etc., for use with creatures that can bring other troops that build beyond your original choice. These reinforcements must be within 1 point of the total but not exceed the total. The extra miniatures don't count toward your point build total as per the normal rules.
Miniatures from all sets that have been released for the Star Wars Miniatures Game are legal for build purposes.
Action rules apply as normal.
__________________________________________________ _____________
Not sure if you all have played this new format yet, but has there been any ruling or restrictions placed on 0 pt characters, since there is a legal 0 pt damage output army that has already been posted online? We're basically using friendly rules of no more than one 0 damage character here.
Had fun my first game... my opponent was nice enough to give me a Shivashen Pilot, who was awesome with the Bonmar monk. I gave him a Seperatist leader squad that just plain sucked. =)

I am not sure what you are referring to, but this format is not a sanctioned style. DCI is the only official sanctioner of SWM, and it does not recognize this format. It can be a fun local format though.

Sorry, I saw it on the website and it mentioned a tournament at D&D Experience, and I thought it was going to be a new addition. There has been talk about Peasant format being sanctioned too, but that's more of a local thing as well.
Here is the link to the info about the Utini Tourn from the SWM website.
