Chapter 4: The Guardian Angel
"Will Ashley and Greeson please step into the dueling ring?" the announcer called, signaling the time for another duel.
"Just because you're my friend, and the fact that you're really hot, doesn't mean I'm going to take it easy on you." Gree said.
Ashley: 4000 Gree: 4000
Ashley started out the duel and drew her cards.
"Check this out, I play Graceful Charity and draw 3 cards, then send two to the graveyard. Now I play Monster Reborn to revive my Guardian Angel Joan! This was one of the cards I sent to the graveyard when I played Graceful Charity. Now I summon Nimble Momonga, and play one card face down, ending my turn."
"Wow Ashley, that was a great round for you. Too bad I'm going to have to spoil it. I play Swords of Revealing Light along with 2 cards face down. Now I summon Dark Blade in attack mode!"
Gree's Dark Blade was summoned to the field, it's dark armor shining brightly in the stadium lights.
"3 turns will go by quicker than you think, Gree. I play my Harpie's Feather Duster to get rid of all of your spell and traps cards. Now I play this monster face down in defense mode and attack your Dark Blade with Joan! This will cause you to lose life points, and me to gain them. Now my Momonga, attack him directly!"
Ashley:5800 Gree:2000
"You're good, but this duel is far from over. I play the rest of my cards face down on the field and end my turn."
"You couldn't summon any monsters? You're left with only spell and trap cards. Not only that but now my Magician of Faith is ready to attack! And since she's been summoned, I can get my Monster Reborn card back from the Graveyard. Now all of my monsters, attack!"
"Not so fast, I activate Mirror Force! Say goodbye to all of your monsters!"
"No!" Ashley cried out, you just destroyed all of my monsters...I have no choice but to end my turn."
"I draw! Yes, now I summon another Dark Blade and activate Call of the Haunted to bring back the other. Now my Dark Blades, attack her life points directly!"
Ashley:2200 Gree:2000
"Good job Gree. Now it's time for a good move of my own. Raigeki! This card will destroy all of your monsters. Say goodbye!"
The Raigeki thunderbolt swept from the arena ceiling, putting an end to Gree's Dark Blades.
"Alright, as you know, I got my Monster Reborn back from the graveyard when my Magician of Fith was summoned so you know what that means...return Guardian Angel Joan!"
"Not that card again, doesn't it ever die?" Gree remarked.
"Since you have no monsters on the field, Joan can attack your life points directly and end this duel. Joan, attack!"
"Not so fast, my Scapegoat will save me. Instead of my life points, Joan has to attack one of this little furballs."
The goat moved quickly and intercepted Joan's attack.
"I draw. Now I summon Exiled Force! By offering Exiled Force as a tribute, I can destroy your Joan and not have to worry about my life points being taken out because of my goats. Exiled Force, sacrifice yourself to destroy Guardian Angel Joan!"
"Great move Gree, but as usual, I've got to one up you. Go call of the Haunted! As you know, Joan will be making yet another reappearance from the graveyard. Now Joan, attack another scapegoat!"
"I still have two goats left Ash, and it's my move. I draw...activate Mystical Space Typhoon! This card destroys your Call of the Haunted, along with Joan. This ends my turn."
"Wow, I'm impressed, you've managed to destroy Joan time and time again. Despite being handled by a girl in this duel, you've been coming back for more. I'm sorry old friend but it's time to end it. I play Dark Hole. This card will destroy your goats, leaving you wide open for an assault. Now I activate Premature Burial. By giving up 800 points, I can once again revive Guardian Angel Joan. Joan, finish him off!"
Ashley:1400 Gree: 0
"What an exciting duel folks! Ashley won by not giving up on that Joan card. But wait, the next duel will commense shortly so don't leave your seat. In the next duel Ariku will take on Quake so don't miss it!"
Next time: Aariku and Quake duel, but Quakes deck holds an idestructable secret. See how it turns out in Episode 5: Exodia Unleashed.

Another great chapter, I'm guessing one of the people has more then one demon or god card?

Alright, it was pretty good. Just why is the chapter called "10,00 Life Points!?!" Were you trying to give Ashley 10,000 Life Points and it didn't work out or something?

actually it was more of a metaphor for the seemingly undefeatable Joan.
fallen: that is a problem how?

It's a problem because the Goats are Tokens, meaning they're monsters, and wouldn't be affected by Heavy Storm. Make it a Dark Hole, and the problem is solved.

Then you'll have to add a card, because this is one fudge that simply won't work. Maybe a Fairy Meteor Crush/Big Bang Shot on Joan?

changed it, happy? It wasn't actually much of a stretch but no one gets the fact that some stuff can be changed a bit to make the duel better. *sigh*

Whoa... this one... wasn't very good, sorry.
A) 10,000 Life Points?! is a brilliant title. Not a brilliant metaphor. "The Invincible Joan" or something would've been better.
B) Why summon Dark Blade when the opponent had two monsters; one of which has 2800 ATK, and the other Special Summons more of itself and gives life points? Even if there's protection, still not the move I'd have made.
You gotta think, what moves would actually be practical and logical? Not "What moves can I use to finish the game as quickly as possible, with it still seeming fair?" For example, why did everybody have mass removal when they needed it?
EDIT: Looking at the next title, I'm guessing my duel doesn't go so well... -_-;

you're entitled to your opinion. Also, I cannot get to your deck through your sig (says i'm going into a restricted area), you'll have to pm me the list.

You appear to be rather defensive about this. Would it help if we said that we're trying not to insult your writing, but to make it even better? While I cannot necessarily speak for the other posters on this topic, that is certainly my goal, and it appears to be that of the other posters as well.
You mentioned that you might fudge some rules in order to make the duels work, and this we were willing to accept, within limits -- although I personally feel that these "fudges" should be committed only when necessary. Megamorphing Uria to double its attack even though TCG rules say it wouldn't? No problem, really -- it very easily makes sense. Heavy Storm destroying monsters, even if they were generated by a Spell? That's a problem, because it makes little sense.

there are five more duels in the first round so you'll be in one of them, hopefully i'll have round one finished by the end of next week. I cannot guarentee victory though, you'll just have to check it out as it happens! ^_^

Well, someone's gotta lose. I do, of course, hope that Dane makes it past Round 1, but even if he doesn't, as long as it's a good duel, I won't be TOO disappointed.

It would be interesting if a single duelist held two Egyptian Gods and "Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder"... Too bad you made "The Winged Dragon of Ra" the prize card for the tournament...
Ah well. Nice fanfic, though a bit short for my liking.

it can/probably will happen later in the tournament as the cards are forfeited to the winning duelists. Working chapter 5 now.
