Default Jedi as they should have been

I have never liked the fact that jedi are so limited in their use of their force and force powers. Here is what i came up with for house rules for jedi:

Universal force list
- All force powers are useable for their given side for level 2 or higher.
- Force renewal is given to every Jedi. Those with renewal already are given renewal 2. Those already with renewal 2 are not affected.
- Jedi may only use the force once per turn, like normal, unless they have master of the force.
- Characters that have force renewal on their card are considered level 6 jedi.
- Force powers are divided into light and dark side powers. You can only use a power that is listed on some character on on a given side. Light side characters cannot use lightning or sith rage since no light side characters have these powers on their cards, and dark side characters cannot use powers such as force heal or force burst since there are no dark side characters that have these on their cards.
- Fringe characters are considered the same force side as your squad. Aurra would be lightside with republic or darkside with the empire. If a force user is on an all fringe squad, then they must declare at the start of the skirmish what side the character will be.
- If a character already has a power listed on their card they pay the same cost as stated on the card and reduce the save by one level (16 to 11 to 6).
- Force level determines the cost and save (if needed) for a character using a power not listed on their card and is determined by the characters starting force points:
- Characters must have the appropriate weapons to use certain powers. Characters without a lightsaber cannot use lightsaber powers, and characters without guns cannot use blaster barrage.
Force Levels
Force level 1 – cannot use force powers
Force level 2 – costs +1F and save 16
Force level 3 – costs +1F and save 11
Force level 4 – save 11
Force level 5 – save 11, Master of the force for listed powers only
Force level 6 – save 6, Master of the force for all powers

Force exceptions
- Anticipation is unique to all qui-gon/ki-adi characters
- Battle meditation and force valor are only available to those who have it on their card.
- Dark force spirit/force spirit are unique to the characters who have it printed on their card
- Drain life is unique to nihilus
- Force defense is level 5 or higher, force absorb is level 6 only.
- All lightnings are level 5 or higher, unless already stated on the card
- Overwhelming force is level 6 only.
- Pawn of the darkside is unique to all Sidious/emperor palpatine characters
- Shatterpoint is unique to all windu characters
- Sith hunger is unique to nihilus
- Sith sorcery is level 6 only
- Transfer essence in unique to Exar
- Unleash the force is unique to Jacen solo
- Use the force is unique to Luke on tauntaun

use swshoebox.com to figure out all of the powers. I have made lists of lightside/darkside powers.

thoughs/opinions?

Yes. thier force level is determined by the number of force points printed on their card. Saesee would be a level 2, ani would be level 4 and obi would be level 5, etc.

Since force renewal is only on upper echelon pieces, causing them to have ony a few starting force points, all characters that have force renewal to begin with are considered level 6.

Oh, I see. Yeah, that is a pretty cool rating system, and I like your ideas.

your turning it into a RPG almost, which is cool. i turned my pool table into a 3D map. we just kept all the rules but changed the movent from squares to inches. 6 inches and att. or 12 and don't, unless they have speed. you get the idea. so many options with this game.

I know a number of people that love to use star wars with battletech or 40K type rules. It works pretty well if you like that style of play.
