Cool Yu-Gi-Oh! FANtasy Card Template (for Photoshop) version 2

Ok, recently I noticed there are quite a number of people who are using my template, so I guess I should also update the template file.

Click here to download the file. Password is "ygopsd". It's in ZIP format so if you have Win 2K/XP you ca extract it immediately. For Win98 users you need WinZIP or WinRAR. Sample output can be viewed here.

This is version 2 which is now focuses on making Practice Cards, copies of the original real life cards, but has a watermark so it won't be used in piracy. You can google around for card images if you want to make practice cards and just paste the image in this template. This template has no margins all around so you can paste it over your extra YGO cards at the exact center.

Here are additional tips:

- I made guidelines for the card pic so you can place the card pic exactly inside the card frame, just turn on "Snap" under the View menu.
- If you want to print your card, image width should be 55mm and Height should be 84mm.
- Print in the highest possible quality your printer can.
- I recommend printing on Photo Sticker paper than ordinary sticker paper. Matte finish is good an uses less ink, Glossy finish is the best but uses almost 300% ink compared to matte.
- If you want to post the image on the Web, save it as JPEG and compress it to 40% so the file size would be smaller.
- Make a copy of the orig file so that if you screw up you don't need to download again .

And please post your work

Good luck and I'll be willing to answer all your questions.

Looks like it's asking for a password, unfortunately. Would you be able to post it here or PM it at all?

EDIT: Ahh, missed the password indeed. I'm obviously losing it in my not-so-old age.

I'll probably download that tomorrow, since I'm apparently exceeding the download limit for my IP address (after uploading V1 anyway). Nevertheless, thank you RudeDholf for a great idea.

Quiff means he'll just download the new version tomorrow since he can't make anymore download coz he exceeded his download limit on the server where the file is located. It won't affect yours though.

On the Layers Pallette, locate the folder named "Monster Card", click the triangle beside it if it is pointing to the right, it will pointing down thus expanding that folder, scroll further down the click the "eye" icon beside the Ritual Monster layer to hide it, next on that same column beside the Layer Monster effect click it so that the "eye" icon shows then the Monster Effect layer will be visible. Do the same with other types just by hiding/unhiding the layer using that "eye" icon.

Better yet, just download the video tutorial here, this is for the first version of the template to get help you better and get more familiar with it.

Better read the Photoshop manual first so you can gain basic knowledge. As you can see, Quiff was able to used it because he has basic knowledge even though he hasn't used it for 2 years. As for the video, I just checked and it's working.

I looked right next to the folder marked Monster Cards and there is no arrow.
And the video says this page is currently unavailable for viewing

- Ok I'll be kind to you since you're showing some good effort, take a look at this, the "arrow" is "in" the red circle.
- As for the video, I'll upload it somewhere else, I'll post the link here later on, Geocities.com is so l-a-m-e when it comes to free hosting.

Hmm, it may not be too long now before I get "Cyber Gorgon" posted up. I'm currently actually drawing her, then I'll scan it in and edit.

RudeDholf, nice going on improving the program in version 2. I'm thoroughly enjoying creating my cards! It's possibly to get some really nice backgrounds for your card images if you mess about with some of the Layer settings. So far, I've managed this for my "Cyber Gorgon" card.

Oh that's really neat, at least your're not too lazy to make your own backgrounds unlike me, I google for backgrounds LOL! The only thing remaining is the Monster now, I might guess it'll be like Cyber Dragon

Think along the lines of a female Jinzo, but of course, with some robotic snakes for hair.

Well, I do have a drawing of "Cyber Gorgon" available now. I finished it last night and messed about with it a little on Photoshop. Here's the link for the image put onto the card and with some colour added. I have altered the background too.

I think it's possible to get some interesting Torrential Tribute-style artwork for backgrounds easily too by simply messing about with some of the patterns that already exist.

That was some nice artwork Quiff. I didn't imagine Gorgon it was a medusa-like creature hehe, all along I was thinking it was more like Chimeratech . Nicely done though. I also started to draw my own actually since it's Haloween holiday here in the Philippines and I have nothing to do but either play with my son or nothing hehe.

Yes, they are medusa-like and female in appearance. At the same time, I wanted it to retain those features while having the features that the Cyber monsters have. It's main difference from other Cyber monsters is it's colour (but fitting for it's attribute).

I should also add that creating the background layer behind the actual monster picture is best done if you move the layers behind everything, except the base layer. The layer where the Gravekeeper's Servant (was just a numbered layer) is should be above were you can put your background (says "Place Image Here"). Just thought that would be helpful, otherwise you seem to paint over the rest of the card with other tools.
