What makes an 00ber an 00ber?

Everyone knows the meaning, examples, and why which pokemon are 00bers. But what makes an 00ber an 00ber? At what point does it go from being OU to 00ber (when it becomes unused)?

On the old board a few months ago, there was some contraversy over Metagross. He was the most OU pokemon at the time, and everyone hated him. Was he an 00ber? The final virdict was no.

Latios is strange. It seems that the presense of a hold item makes him cross the bridge. What about Slaking@Choice Band? Latios@soul dew was cheap, but did it make him an 00ber?

Rayquaza is considered the ultimate 00ber. Why? He has dual weakness and is slow.

What about Raikou/Suicune/Zapdos/Articuno/Registeel/Regice? And what about Entei/Moltres/Regirock?



Sorry if I'm not making sense, but all I really want to know is: What makes an 00ber an 00ber?

an 00ber is a pokemon that can have a broken moveset to go with their stats and ability... 00bers are usually legendaries or OU's...

like Blissey... it cant get damaged very easily since it has high HP and SpDef... very low Defense, but with EV training, it is easily fixed... with Softboiled and Heal Bell, it is hard to do anything to it... so even though it isnt a legendary, it is an oober...

Kyogre is probably the biggest 00ber as it can OHKO almost anything wih Waterspout...

I personally think the whole 00ber thing is stupid in the first place; they're in the game. They're real Pokémon. You were intended to fight them at least once. If -you- can't beat them, that's your problem. Adjust your team if you must to kill them.

Kyogre is slow. EV Train an Electric in Special Attack and Speed and then use Thunder. If that's not enough, give it a Magnet to hold. x 1.5 STAB, x 1.3 or so on Magnet, x 2 for type advantage should be plenty to kill him, maybe OHKO him.

thats a good idea if you want to kill it i suppose, but a lot of people will be wanting to catch it, but not waste their Master Ball which they want to keep for Lati@s (eg me), when it becomes a lot more tricky
