A. What the hell are you talking about?

B. In no logical eyes is EVA, 'Old School'.

Roboblech old school? I think not. Old school is Astro Boy, Kimba the White Lion, 8th Man, Speed Racer and if you stretch a little Star Blazers.

Just because something was produced before you were born does not make it "old school"

Def. not old school, but I thought it was a good show. Only caught about 3 eps of it when it aired on CN's giant robot week, but it was good.

Actually it was 2 episodes shown on Giant Robot Week. Although I thought it was utter stupidity to show the first episode of Robotech and then show the "Final Episode" of Robotech.

Are you saying that Evangelion is old school and that Evangelion came before Robotech?

Default Macross/Robotech

So, any fans here? I'm personally quite a big Macross fan and I'm interested in seeing if this board has any other Macross fans.

Macross is a classic, and Southern Cross is so-so. Mospeada BLEW CHUNKS, as did Roboblech...though we can credit it with bringing the anime culture to a larger American audience...unfortunately.

And Carl Macek is still the anti-christ.

*Cough* right here *Cough*

YF-19S Excalibur F > Everything.

I've also played Macross: Do You Remember Love for the Sega Saturn. Such an awesome game w/ quite a lot of cinematics... And I also own the Macross Super Famicom game.

I haven't watched much of the series though... And I want to watch Macross 7, minus the singing.

I'm a fan of Macross. I haven't seen much of the series. I really like Macross Plus. I own Macross plus and the two soundtracks for the series. I also own the Macross 2 movie Do you remember love. I really wanna see Macross Zero but, it hasn't been licensed hopefully it will be.

w00t, my thread actually got replies.

So, does anyone here (apart from Tao) have any favourite Mecha designs from Macross? I personally love all of them, but I especially love the YF-21/VF-22 Sturmvogel II, although it's kind of...different.

But singing is the whole theme of Macross 7...

Damn, that's too bad... I won't watch it then. *sticks to Gundam*

I think there was a Robotech game for GC... I saw it at my friend's house... Horrible.

You probably mean the game Robotech:BattleCry. Were the graphics cel shaded? It came out for Xbox and PS2 as well. There is this other Robotech game that is a FPS. It was called Robotech: Invasion, but wasn't for GC.

I haven't been able to see it. I do plan to buy it "considering all the reviews", if I ever do find the dvd that has all episodes on one disc. I hear that Yoko Kanno does the music for it.

I haven't really been able to see Macross/Robotech. Only saw two episodes, on that infamous "Giant Robot Week" event that took place on Toonami.

Macross Plus is great. I believe its the first anime Shinchiro Wantanabe and Yoko Kanno and the whole Cowboy Bebop group worked on. If you like Cowboy bebop, Wolf's Rain, or Samurai Champloo most of the same people from Macross pluss worked on those three anime series. Also I've already mentioned it but, yes Yoko Kanno does do the music for Macross Plus. I'm actually kinda surprised no ones ever brought up Macross Plus considering the people who've worked on the series and how good most of their anime series have been and how successful most of them have been in the anime industry.

I thought it was ok, but it didn't really appeal to me that much. Although it's been a while since I've heard any of it. >_>

I've only seen it at my local retails on two occasions "ages ago". When I did find it, I didn't have much knowledge on particular titles, etc. If I had known, what I know today.....Then I would of bought it. Although I didn't have any money on those 2 occasions either. *shrugs*

Personally, the BEST Macross was Love Do you Remember...I will always remember the American Premier of that move in 1984 as my indoctrination to watching Anime in Japanese...

And I'm partial to the VF-1S Strike Valk from that film...and the flight suits...

Macross Plus, Macross II and Macross 7 are all PALE comparisons.

Has Love Do You Remember even been released in the U.S. on DVD?

I got a grey market subbed VHS years ago which I break out every now and then.

From what i've heard Macross Zero is the best of any Macross series or movie to come out, its supposedly really really good. Hopefully it'll be licensed this year.

Also Macross: Do you remember love hasn't been released in the U.S. on DVD.

I've also heard Macross Zero is very good, but I don't think it can be much better then the original.
