I.INTRO


Gimmick Puppet is an archetype of DARK and EARTH Machine used by IV/Quattro (his real name is Thomas Archlight) in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime .All xyz are giant creppy puppets and all non xyz are dolls. There main goal is to spam Rank 8 xyz.Since they are Machines,Machina Fortress and Gearspring Spirit are a good addition to the deck.
Anyway,now let's enjoy the FANSERVICE.


II.How to get them IRL?

-Dreary Doll and Magne Doll are in the OCG "Prenium Pack 15"
-Death Troy is a V Jump promo
-String and Leo are Shonen Jump promotional cards
-Head Egg, Scisor Arms, Gear Changer, Twilight Joker and Giant Grinder are in the the pack "Number Hunters"



III.What is FANSERVICE?

"I shall give you hope and then, take it back.That's the moment when a human make the most beautifull face.".
IV is a sadistic and malevolent Duelist who wants to make his opponents suffer, with what he calls his "fanservice", in order to win (in the dub, he refers to it as "spoiling" his fans"). When in the presence of his fans, his personality becomes a facade as he hides his true nature and becomes a "noble" and "well-mannered" person. He sees his fans as bad Duelists and challenges them as his "fanservice". When he Duels, he initially praises their skills and lets them think they have the upper hand. When his opponents fall into his trap he shows his real self and defeats them cruelly, going so as far as to keep attacking his opponents even if they have no Life Points and claiming his "fanservice" must continue.[/center]

It's looking for something...Friends....perhaps...
This card is an easy way to get a Rank 8 on the field as he Special Summons himself. Thanks to his level 8, he is Machina Fortress food, a Trade-In target and also fodder for Necro Doll's effect.

She is here to eat,she need to eat to live,she will eat again and again AND AGAIN.........
The best monster of the archetype in the Main Deck as of now.
Machina Fortress food, Trade-In target and is an easy way to Rank 8 Xyz. Unfortunately, she can only be used to Xyz Summon Gimmick Puppet Xyz. However, if that Xyz hits the Graveyard, she can use it as fodder to revive herself again later on.

When you do: You can Special Summon 1 "Gimmick Puppet Nightmare" from your hand or Graveyard. If this card is Special Summoned, you cannot Special Summon any monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Gimmick Puppet" monsters.
What's that?It look like a bunch of corps glued together.......

You know,when you use a Giant Grinder, he usually won't be great with his weak 1500 body.
Nightmare can turn it into something else,let's see...yes...destroying 2 monster and then going for String or even leo if you have Dreary in your grave...Machina Fortress food, Trade-In target and is an easy way to Rank 8 Xyz.Yeah,that's a good card. You can summon anyting BEFOR usng nightmare's effect since it's worded the same way than Bahamut Shark and Battlin'Boxer Sparer .
Your Giant Killer get negated?Your Heaven's String can't move because of Fiendish Chain?You can be sure that nightmare will back you up in this situation.
But honestly,it's situationnal in the machina build.

● This card's Level becomes 8 until the End Phase.
He is strangely lively,what's inside it.............?

Finally a LV4.His attack is rather low but since most of the time he is going to end up has an xyz material,that's not an issue.
Has a LV4,he can be used to summon and searched by GGX and his burn effect can end game.
His LV change is suitable for the point of this archtype.
It's a -1?Nan,it's food for Dreary doll.But the -1 always hurt somehow and can become situationnal has hell.

Sometime in the middle of night, you can hear it gearing up .........

The "can't be special summoned from deck killed most of his usefullness but it's ok.
Now,it's a 1 card xyz when you get dreary doll in grave and he can be search by GGX.

DITCH ALL THE DREARY DOLL or any Junk puppet target you need.Being searchable by GGX make it even stronger.
It's also a Black Salvo target

It's laughing...at you..will your head slowly get away from your body...Blood on his scythe...?...Your blood!....What really hapened?You will never know....
Honestly,it's not really easy to use his effect,either your puppets are usually to big to get destroyed by battle or he won't himself survive for the next turn.And on the top of that,it need to banish the monster you used to summon it.

His name is pun on destroy and also how the strategie of The Trojan Horse could bring death on an opponent.

Gimmick Puppets aren't know for there awsome hand advantage, so you will have hard time to use his effect.Being a dark,it's obviously a Black Salvo target.
His 2000 def still give him a chance to survive and his destruction effect can trigger the meklords.

Up to twice per turn, during your Main Phase 1: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 Special Summoned monster your opponent controls; destroy that target, and if that target was an Xyz Monster, inflict damage to your opponent equal to its original ATK.

The messenger of hell who try to remplace his missing heart with the pain of his victime.

A nice, easy to summon Xyz who can deal massive damage when used at the right time and even OTK if your opponent has an Xyz or two on the field. Even if they are not Xyz, you can still get rid of 2 annoying Special Summoned monsters in 1 turn.
Do not forget that you can only use his effect in Main Phase 1.
Run 2 in the machina build
Run 3 in the DARK build
NOTE:
Giant Killer inflicts damage printed on the ATK of the card and can destroy monsters who were Special Summoned face-down or monsters who were Special Summoned and then changed to face-down position by stuff like Book of Moon.
On a somewhat related note.You know,there are xyz who can activate there effect when they leave the field.Giant Killer can make those effect missing the timing as the destruction and burn are done separately.

Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; place 1 String Counter on each face-up monster on the field, except this card. If you do, during your opponent's next End Phase: Destroy the monsters with String Counters, and if you do, inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each monster destroyed.
Once you hear his beautifull song,you know that your death is coming.
The more powerful 2-material Gimmick Puppet Xyz ATK-wise.
He could be useful against decks that spam monsters but most of the time the affected monsters will leave the field before your opponent's End Phase (be it by Xyz Summons, being destroyed by battle or Synchro'd or Tributed) and he also blows up any of your monsters that were affected. As a Machine, you can use Machina Gearframe or Machina Peacekeeper to protect him and try to use his effect on monsters who actually do not leave the field very easily. Things like Gorz and his Token, or even Xyz/Fusion monsters, being the most typical. But dedicating too much effort to have his effect go off could be counterproductive

NOTE:At the activation of his first effect,he need to be face up at the resolution to put the counter(s).
His second effect won't resolve if he leave the field befor your opponent's end phase.
Also,he don't need to face'up on the field to resolve his second effect has long he could activated it.

You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect. When this card has 3 Destiny Counters on it, its controller wins the Duel.
A majestic king.He shall give you 3 chances befor endng your live.
The Gimmick Puppet monster with the highest ATK. 3200 ATK is pretty nice.
A duel winner on his own (an actual one), but not usually summoned. Most of the time, the best decks to summon Destiny Leo against are Chain Burn or Stall decks like Final Countdown.
Machine Duplication and Inferno Reckless Summon can make Destiny Leo's summon much quicker. After summoning him, Union monsters can be used to protect him while preparing to declare the win condition.
Run 0-1.

Note:He will lose his counter(s) if his effect is negated.
If your opponent take control of him by,let's say for example Enemy Controller,at the time his effect would resolve to put a 3rd counter,if he is on your opponen't field,this one will win the duel so be carefull.

The sound of a puppet coming back to live can be dreadfull
Our own themed Monster Reborn, from our Graveyard only.
Note that it can summon ANY Gimmick Puppet, incluiding Number 40 who is a 3000 ATK beatstick or a level 4 or 8 to Xyz Summon with.

Would be a nice card if it wasn't for it's awfull restriction.............

Now,the legendary battle between Numbers shall once again, rage upon this world.
Not a Gimmick Puppet support but since all of our Puppets xyz are Numbers, you can see i has if it was one.And you know,it make you feel like if you were in the show where numbers can only be destroyed by numbers..........
Well........
Whatever.
This card make Numbers on the field impossible to be destroy by effect and by battle.
Yeah there is still the opponent's Numbers.But think about it,heaven's string is a 3000 beater,not like you will see that everywhere.
Also,he can now avoid any form of destruction wich make it even more awsome.
But the main problem is still the same.........
Nowadays,you can see a lot of card that can remove an xyz from the field without destroying them (such has Compulsory Evacuation Device),cards that banish (like the awfully well know Spellbook of Fate) or even worst,your opponent can just take control of your numbers (because the awfull Number 11: Big Eye.)
It's also a double edged sword since it protect the opponent's Numbers again Giant Killer.
Still a nice tech that can suprise when used at the right time.


V.Non themed cards

Machina Fortress , Machina Gearframe , Machina Cannon
The Machina engine can give a pretty... amazing boost to the deck. Most of the Gimmick Puppets that go in the Main Deck are level 8, so you can dump any of them to revive Machina Fortress. Dump several to summon several Fortresses... and you now have access to Rank 7 Xyz while setting up the Graveyard. Or attack without Xyz. All up to you.
Machina Gearframe can search the other Machinas when Normal Summoned, and can also equip itself to a Machine and protect it once from being destroyed.
Machina Cannon is a searchable, 1-card Machina Fortress revival, Trade-In fodder, and can also pitch any Gimmick Puppets from your hand to serve as a defender and/or set-up plays.

Run 2 fortress,3 canon,3 gearframe .

Since monsters on there own can become a SERIOUS THREAT nowaday, you should run this.Especially for the dangerous Evilswarm Ophion.
Usually you may use the first eff to stop them from searchiing pandemie during there run and the second effect to negate ophion during your turn.
You can also force there pandemie until they run out of them.

It's actually easy to meet the condition to use it since String is easy to spam.

Yup,easy to summon without minus.
Once she get on the field also called her room,she won't easly get out because this lazy ass is ready to stay whatever it cost.
Why?
Once per turn, she can't be destroy by battle, wich mean she is already waiting for the first one who will dare trying to make her go out.
Also if your opponent dare trying to target her, she will just rage and destroy the source of her anger.
Her 2100 def mean that she don't fear small fry.
Also,she her lazyness won't be wasted.
Remember,she is a xyz and once nightmare get it hands on her,it can turn this cute NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) into a what could bring doom on your opponent.

A rank 8 who need machines.It can become bigger than string wich make him good alternative when you aren't using necro doll has material or all the said material aren't DARK (for number 22)
He can also become an otk by either attacking directly and using Limiter Removal in damage step OR using gearspring's effect on one of your opponent's monster in attack mode(still using limiter in damage step)

Both are fairly easy to summon if using Machina Fortress, and their effects are pretty good.

This card is,not bad.Strong body (3200),can stun your oponent's hidden S/T,can be boost herself and can protect herself from anything who would affect her but would need her face up at the resolution like Mirror Force.
So why not running that amazing card?
She need 3 freaking material.That's just to munch for a card who can't even be summon with Necro Doll.
Don't run her,that's all.

Card Trooper
His mill can either set up Machina Fortress or feed necro doll.His 1900 atk after using his effect make so that he can run over must of the low level and when he die because he won't survive to long with his 400 atk,he will give you a free draw.

Since all gimmick puppet xyz got nerfed (but giant killer got balanced) and all non xyz got a buff, here is what we can hope for.

Luck based cards aren't good even if they can pull an otk.This is what IV taugh us.(He lost because of that when he could just win by not using it)
But if you can manage to use it with Lavalval Chain you can could deal heavy damage.It's still 8 attack on a single monster and and otk if the target have 2000 atk or less.


X.Conclusion.


The deck usually need a little set up but can do strong otk.
Spamming big beater like nothing will usually put opponent under a huge pressure since you will always have something big to summon.

So yeah,we finally got a second thread who need to be filled with words who describes how awsome FANSERVICE can be.
Number hunter is out along with all our themed xyz AND YET:
1:We are missing the 3 key we actually make the deck work (TCG)
2:Konami won't give us scarecrow...

Oh well,let's find a way to make this deck better,together, like befor in joy ,peace,madness and fanservice.........

Exactly, which makes me sad.

In other news, I'm deciding to use 1 Crazy Box in my extra. It works as a 3K beater until Skill Drain, is another virus target other than Zombiestein or Strings, and looks cool. I feel like I'd still go into GGX more times than it, but it might be interesting, I'll see how testing goes.

Uh, Fiend Comedian is only a -1 if you use it while not baiting. But the card itself is good.
I hate this computer I am using at the moment. It is awkward to type with it...

It's not that he's bad, it's that he was nerfed unnecessarily. Had he been able to retain either his counting as two materials (as opposed to the whole special summon from hand or graveyard), or been able to special summon another Nightmare from the deck, he would be a welcome addition. The whole restriction to Gimmick Puppets only for the rest of the turn was unwarranted as well, I would just rather run Gearspring Spirit before him, he has his potential to be useful, but at the same time as the OP states it can end up being situational.
