Default Bujin Yamato (war god Yamato)

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/War_God_-_Yamato

If Skill Drain is activated after its summon do I get the effect?

Does it need to remain face-up on the field to use the effect in the end phase?

No, you do not. The effect activates in the end phase.

Yes, obviously it does.

2) If it already activated its effect in the End Phase, if it was removed from the Field mid-Chain, it still resolves properly, if that's what you were asking.

Nah I meant if Skill Drain was activated before the end phase. And I was confused because it says cards like effect veiled wont stop the effect so curious as to why Skill Drain does

That Effect Veiler scenario involves a thorough understanding of game mechanics, which ultimately leads to the conclusion that Veiler's negation has to fade away before Yamato can attempt to activate its effect.

Skill Drain just sorta stays there, applying its effect negation all the time.

Veiler has to end at some point during the end phase and then you can activate the effect of Yamato.

Oh okay I'm yeah I suppose it
Does require a thorough understanding if game mechanics. With simultaneous effects I thought the turn player has to choose to skip priority to the opponent to determine which end phase effects happen at which point.

But I'm glad effect veiled has to wear off before Yamato can work. Does this scenario with veiler work the same for lightsworn monsters effect to mill in the end phase?

no, LS mill is mandatory trigger effect.

Not with mandatory effects, no.

This isn't about effects being simultaneous, since phase-triggered/phase-dependent effects don't create SEGOCs/apply at the same time.
