Welcome, old and new HERO enthusiasts, to yet another installment of our HERO Discussion! Thank you, people, for your continued support on this incredible series. Heroes are a long-standing archetype introduced in The Lost Millenium, and one of the main themes in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. All Heroes, except Destiny, were used by Juudai Yuki (or Jaden Yuki) in the anime. The Destiny Heroes were the main deck of Edo Phoenix (or Aster Phoenix, in the English sub). In the manga they even introduce new Heroes – Masked Heroes and Vision Heroes, respectively.

Feel free to post your decks, give your opinions on all the other builds and generally discuss the Heroes, be it Elemental, Masked, Vision, Evil, Destiny or Neo-Spacian. All forms of HERO decks are welcome here.

2 • Cards and Techs

There are many an engines that Heroes can use to fight for Justice. Listed here are some of the most prominent:

2.1 • Monster Line-Up
Quote:
Elemental HERO Stratos
Best. Searcher. In. The. Game. Staple in every HERO build, almost working as an engine on its own. Such a master of disguise because, by himself, he is every Omni-HERO, and about 10+ Xyz monsters all at once

Elemental HERO Bubbleman
LOL. Yeah, Bubbles. This card used to be a joke, but with the introduction of XYZ monsters, Bubbleman became a force to be reckoned with. Despite requiring your whole hand set in order to be Special Summoned, it's eff is often abused after searched by Stratos for quick XYZ plays

Elemental HERO Neos Alius
Use it in conjunction with Gemini Spark + Hero Blast and you got a devastating, disruptive advantage generating engine. Nice beatstick as well

Elemental HERO Voltic
Amazing in Gate HERO builds. Direct attacks are easy to come by thanks to Absolute Zero nuke eff, along with other big beaters. When the right materials are banished, this card can generate easy advantage and become an OTK machine

Elemental HERO Prisma
An Elemental HERO Armageddon Knight. This card is excellent in Contact Neos decks, as well as any other fusion based decks. This card combos well with A Hero Lives and makes Miracle Fusion live 1st turn

Elemental HERO Ocean
Backed up with protection, this card's effect can generate easy advantage when used in conjunction with Stratos or Bubbleman. Also target for Mask Change

Elemental HERO Ice Edge
Absolute Zero's lil bro. This card can be used to bait out those large backrows and as Mask Change target too

Elemental HERO Heat
Mostly used as fusion material. Excellent beater after you've swarmed the field with Voltic plays. Can help you getting over annoying beatsticks if used correctly

Elemental HERO Wildheart
Fairly useful in a trap heavy format, however 1500 ATK is pitiful. Target for Mask Change
2.2 • Extra Deck

Mid-game: generates advantage through recycling. Can turn the game around

Elemental HERO Absolute Zero...∴ field nuker ∴ momentum stopper
Early-game: against certain decks (Agents, X-Sabers, Samurais, Gladiators and others which swarm is constant), AbZero ASAP is a must
Mid-game: usually a game changer
End-game: usually a game changer and his effect may be used offensively, due to your opp's lack of resources

Elemental HERO Nova Master...∴ advantage generator
Early-game: good/alternate opening first turn. Save Shining for mid/end-game where he's usually best used. Generates advantage early on. Susceptible to traps though
Mid-game: as the game continues and resources start to dwindle, he tends to become stronger
end-game: through the advantage built mid-game, he should lead to the win

E-HERO Great.Tornado, E-HERO Gaia, E-HERO Escuridao, Dragon Knight Draco Equiste, Vision HERO...∴ counters
Almost always used as Super Polymerization targets. E-HERO Great Tornado and E-HERO Gaia can be game enders though.

M-HERO Acid, M-HERO Vapor, M-HERO Dian and M-HERO Goka...∴ situationals
Mask Change targets

Heroic Champion - Excalibur, Blade.Armor Ninja, Gem Knight Pearl, Starliege.Paladynamo...∴ heavy hitters
These are your offensive XYZ monsters. Excalibur and Blade Armor are OTK machines. Excalibur and Pearl can get over most monsters. Starliege gets over anything, and acts as a Card Trooper.

Maestroke.the Symphony Djinn, Number 39:.Utopia, Number C39:.Utopia Ray, Gagaga.Cowboy...∴ defense
These are the defense XYZ monsters you use when you need to turtle up in order to regain advantage. Maestroke and Cowboy is great as both an offensive and defensive weapon. Utopia Ray is a late game clutch shot, which is especially useful in A Hero Lives style builds.

Daigusto Emeral, Lavalval Chain...∴ engine feeders
These two cards keep the deck moving. Emeral gives the deck a bit of draw power, while also recycling monsters we need. Lavalval sets up the deck either by dumping a card like Zephyros into the graveyard, or setting up your next draw

Number 16:.Shock Master, Heroic.Champion - Gandiva...∴ field control
Arrive HEROs is a one trick pony if it solely arrives on beatdown to win. While it is a solid strategy, Shock Master is what gives the deck an Aggro-Control aspect akin to Laggia and Shi En. Gandiva can do the same, and it's especially useful against a deck like Rabbit or Samurais

Steelswarm.Roach, Photon.Papilloperative, Evigishki.Merrowgeist, Number 50:.Black Corn, Abyss.Dweller ...∴ meta haters
These are strictly meta call

Void.Ogre Dragon...∴ field control
Used in a variant of HERO Arrive. It acts as another Aggro-Control card along with Shock Master

Dark.End Dragon, Scrap.Dragon...∴ field sweepers
Controls the opponents board by getting rid of threats

Stardust.Dragon...∴ protection ∴ game sealer
Protects your cards, and seals game wins

Might aswell post this again.

Decided to start playing two A Hero Lives in my Masked Heroes. Not sure how I feel about it though, I tend to try and keep Heroes on the field and I'm still playing 2 Photon Thrashers.

that card is situational and BP cards are considered slow in the current meta. If you fear FF side Overworked.

I don't fear Fire Fist. I just found it interesting since its a Counter trap and Fire Fist tend to max out on Lance.

I decided to build bubble beat as of a few hours ago. The results seem good and I'm liking the ability to use photon and bubbleman for quick xyz

Im going suggest all the gate players invest in a set of Forbidden Dress before they get any more expensive. Its been putting in silly amounts of work for me and frankly i was happier to see it over lance 90% of the time during regionals.

In a format like this where compulse and books usage are on the decline, whilst monster based removal is creeping back it really makes it a very versatile card, although yes; you do still have to be mindful of prison.

I have been running 2 Dress in a different deck and it wasn't bad, yeah there aren't much CED or really all that much DP either around.

it seems ppl arent running a lot of backrow hate anymore ive started playing safe zones again...and im also playin forbidden chaliced in my bubblebeat =S

What build are you running that you would want to run Safe Zone's in?
