Default Mst vs continuous/field cards

Just a quick check here because I'm not sure. If the activation of a continuous/field card is chained to by mst/tornado etc, targeting that card, which scenario is correct?

A: the chain link occupied by that card ceases to exist, just as if it had been solemn judgmented. The effect does not resolve.

B: the card resolves, but without effect, as if someone had chained decree. It still occupies a chain link, and counts as an action with regards to missing the timing.
