Default 'Overworked' and Other Possible Sides for Fire Fists

Quote:
Overworked
Normal Trap
Destroy each monster whose ATK is higher than its original ATK.
Seeing as how the Fire Fists become TCG legal on the 25th (7 days), I feel it is relevant to discuss how to side against them. Overworked can essentially function as a Raigeki against a field full of Fire Fists just so long as they have a Tenki on board. Are there better options than this? If so what are they? I mostly see this as a viable option for decks that can't run Macro Cosmos.

I know some stuff about the archetype, but im not exactly sure of its source of power. What is it that makes them powerful/possibly broken?

They play as a beat down deck that generates pluses by searching the archetype's spell/traps which can also generate plusses/attack boosts. The main monsters are Brother of the Fire Fist - Bear and Brother of the Fire Fist - Gorilla. They both are can search/are searched by Fire Formation - Tenki. Their boss monster isn't really relied upon but grants a +1 when summoned; Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Tiger King.

Fairy Wind, Spell Shattering Arrow, Macro Cosmos, Reverse Trap, Thunder King (no tenki or xyzs till hes gone), Forbidden Lance (screws damage step crashes), extra Mystical Space Typhoon, Dust Tornado, Royal Decree, Mischief of the Yokai, Ancient Fairy Dragon (walls them off), Safe Zone (punishes gorilla).

tl:dr: Lots of stuff.

I find something as simple as an additional MST to handle the Double Summon Formation or to hit the Starlight Roads you sometimes see from them works adequately.

If I had to specifically side for them, it'd be Fairy Wind, since it has additional utility against Macro/Skill Drain/other cont. control cards.

I would also assume Forbidden Lance can massively troll their attack boosting abilities.

Oh. That quick play spell that acts as a Trap Stun for all backrow but normal spells and normal traps.

Every time I duel Fire Fists, I pray that I draw Heavy Storm in my opening hand.

Rai-Oh & MSTs/Backrow destruction. That's all i can suggest.

Overworked sounds like a really nice side card against them but until they dominate the whole meta game it would be dumb to side a card especially for them or are their other notable decks which could be affected by this card?

Skill drain if your deck does not care about effects on field like decks like DW
Thunder king Raioh though it can easly be dealt with Bear.

Heavy Storm wouldnt be effective as much if they run Starlight Road...

Dark Simorgh with Anti-Spell Fragrance makes a mean pair. Handling monsters just needs some other techs.

We can always pray that Konami unbans Imperial Order though.

Never gonna happen.Countless decks could abuse it... But you are right about that combination is nasty against Fire fists.

@OP
Well the only problem I can see with Overworked is that it only would work against Fire Fists and Inzektors. Against all other decks it's useless especially because the only ATK altering card which is used widely is Lance..

Spell-Shattering Arrow seems good to me, wish it hit traps though :/ still, kills tenki and tensu, though the traps are generally the problem ones. Also hits d-fissure, which is a plus.

Overworked sounds like too much of a one-of type of counter. Only good for just one or two random Decks, but not enough utility for the space. Fairy Wind is better IMHO as if you can hit the backrow, you ruin their combos with it. Also Fairy Wind can be used to counter say Spellbooks, Dark Worlds, Gravekeeper's and any other Deck that runs heavy amounts of Continuous Spells/Traps or a Field Spell. And if Noble Knights become popular, add them to the list as well.

Post LTGY, Bro Fist are likely going to make up a good portion of the meta, and Overworked is the best anti-Bro Fist card for them, so it'd be well worth siding. It not only disrupts their plays but works after the fact too, which is huge as the deck can go off first turn n everyturn.
