That could very well happen if I were to personally handle shipping with my absent-mindedness, but VIZ has smartly chained me to a desk behind a computer reading manga, writing and editing features for SJ ALPHA.
By the by, I will be at GenCon this August taking subscriptions for ALPHA. And just like San Diego Comic-Con, we will have previous promo cards (possibly Shock Master and/or Slifer) to hand out on the spot to people who get a membership there from me.

If so, I dont believe in your deadlines anymore then. *begins to protest* I'll just wait for a comic con, since apparently the rules are broken just for those that attend.

If you're at GenCon, just come to the Konami booth! I'll be there with an ipad and a square-thingy to take subscriptions and hand out promo cards on the spot to those who do! Or if you know a friend that's going, just get them to visit me at the booth to sign up for a membership (credit card only though). |

How is it not fair? They are trying to get people to subscribe. They advertised Alpha for months before the changeover, and the announcements about Shockmaster and Slifer has been up on the Jump website and here on Pojo for weeks. People had plenty of time to register.

As a previous poster stated, that info has been out there in newsblasts, on the site, here, and various other ad spots. It's not as if we're just picking dates at random, not telling people, and then doing as we please. We have a set schedule that becomes more solid as time goes by. As soon as I have concrete updates to give, I make sure to do so on our site, here at Pojo, and through social media. |

Those who were members between 4/20 and 7/11. If you had a membership during that time span, you should receive SLIFER by the date given in the link in the original post.

I think you misunderstand.
It's not fair that they're giving people a second chance to get shock master.
Clearly everything was well advertised. So it's not fair for everyone else that did sub on time and on the designated dates. But this marketing move will just make things problematic and cause more confusion as to when people's subscriptions will end.

Yeah, but the fact that they'd allow people to get a choice of shock master or Slifer frustrates me a little.
I would have liked a choice too XD But sadly I'm not going to a convention.

Jump Alpha website will tell you when your subscription ends. I understand where you are coming from, but this is a business. They gotta do what they think is necessary to make money. I can't go to a Con just to subscribe, and I don't want to take a chance on missing out. I'd rather have the card then worry about who gets what when, where and how.

Not looking that way. 11th was the cutoff apparently, regardless of whether the offer was being advertised. If I had known about the ad being an old offer, I may not have subscribed. |

It's just one big finger to their loyal fan base. That's all I'm trying to get to. >.>; But whatever.
I'm pretty sure the following 2 promos will suck (post gustaf, the toy gunner). That's because now they got everyone trapped for one year. And if you recall the poll, plenty of the cards were bad...... and if that's their entire pool, it doesn't look good. And I know they'll save their puppets to maybe 3/4's of the year, to get a new group of yearly subs.
Sigh, businesses... So predictable.
