Default Reprints

I get that the perception of Yu-Gi-Oh is that it's ridiculously expensive. And to some extent, I agree with that perception. But at the same time, this game continues to get cheaper and cheaper. I mean, no matter how much you hate Konami, the game is getting cheaper and cheaper. Even the most expensive cards aren't staples and are more deck specific (let's be honest...would you main Card-Car D in every deck even if it WAS cheap?).

But my memory's not perfect, so I'm just wondering...what's left? What cards are left to reprint that are over $15-20 and are still a year old?

Scrap Dragon, T.G. Hyper Librarian, Infernity Barrier, BRD, and...what?

Also, how do you feel about this game getting less expensive? Rescue Rabbit is still stupidly priced, but there are TONS of decks available that can be built for cheap that aren't even close to being bad (not saying they're Tier 1 but they aren't **** terrible and are fairly decently supported): T.G.s, Macro, Blackwings, Karakuri, Ninjas, HEROes, Dark Worlds, XX-Sabers, etc...

BRD is like $8-12 for the Secret. Still can use a PSCT reprint as a Rare.

Obviously Wind-Up Zenmaines, Steelswarm Roach, Rescue Rabbit, Maxx "C", Card Car D. Might as well add Photon Strike Bounzer since it never dropped under $40 since GAOV release.

Gellenduo can use a reprint as well since none of its copies is easy to find and the DT Common is still $10 or more.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a Totem Dragon reprint soon. Except, we kinda already should've, regardless that you don't actually tribute for any of the Hierograffitis.

If it wasn't for the easy advantage and general brokenness of the Tier 1 decks, this format would be perfect.

Well, that and a decrease of the usable S/T destruction cards. 3 MST and 1 Heavy is simply WAY too much.

I rather for it to go back to 1 MST/1 Heavy and start dealing with the problematic Traps than leave them just the way it is just to have an excuse to leave Solemn Warning, Call Of The Haunted, and Dimensional Prison alone.

Not quite sure what the point of moving this was, and I'm definitely not sure why it's got fewer posts, but whatever.

Obviously going forward there will be more expensive cards, but they're running dry on cards that aren't new that need a reprint:

Rescue Rabbit, Photon Streak Bounzer, and Wind-Up Zenmaines are a little too soon. Roach and Maxx "C" and maybe even Leviair could be reprinted easily though.

1 MST/1 Heavy means Warning to 1, Call is irrelevant to any deck not Inzektors, and DP to preferably no higher than 2, like ever.

That's kinda the point.

The only reason why those decks isn't down to their necessary number is because of the easily-used counters for them keeping them in check.

Well last format used to be 200$ TGU's. I wouldn't call that cheap.

That was this format, too. We got cheat TGU's with a couple months left. This game is unreasonably expensive; it doesn't matter when or where you're playing it. There is absolutely no justification for paying $60 for a piece of cardboard it takes 35 cents to produce.

The game can be cheap, if you're running garbage. Or if you're running the deck Konami tells you to run, like hieratics or Six Samurais, come Tuesday. If not, they make it as expensive as hell for you to do anything else.

I guess I'm the only person who thinks there's a difference between running poorly supported and thought out crap like Cloudians, and running a deck who just isn't as popular but was well supported and capable of lots of searching and summon spam like Karakuri.

No, you are not the only person capable of differentiating between Tier 2 and Tier 3.

I take offense to Cloudians being crap......

Chaos Dragons is pretty cheap.

Heroes aren't too expensive either, if you shop around a little and go for lowest rarity.

Cloudians are fun though and honestly, that's all that should matter for Yugioh. Pretty much the biggest reason why heroes are my favorite decks because they're fun, and good.

It's not that. It's just that Cloudians is grossly underrated.

Perhaps the most underrated of them all. I do have plans of going competitive with the deck.

Yeah, I'm really liking heroes a lot now too, since I find them to be quite competitive and fun to play.

Hero/Gemini Beat and even Hero Gate is lots of fun. Currently working to finish these decks in real life.

Just funny cuz I used to really hate the heroes when they first came out (opening packs to find LOTS of crap support blew hard).

Additional Comment:

To the ones who are discontent, what kind of decks do you guys want to build that are so expensive? I mean, I suppose if you wanted to build the absolute top decks (or rather, expensive top tier decks), then yeah it'll cost a lot, but that's the cost of most top decks in any tcg. And it's been like this for most formats. Sure, one format might be a little cheaper than the next, but it all boils down to: top decks will be expensive (then there's the top decks that are a little more budget-friendly). Everything else varies.

Most expensive part of HEROes are Nova Master ($14), Fusion Gate x 3 ($15), and Miracle Fusion x 3 ($15). Everything else can be gotten for $3 or less. I think I built the entire deck + extra for $110 or so. Most Tier 2 decks can be built for fairly cheap. Cheaper if you've got staple cards.

Wait...when the hell did Fusion Gate become $5 each? O.o I feel like I have a lot of those. Well, at least a playset.

But yeah, I'm in the process of building my heroes (got most of it - 3 Neos Alius, 2 Hero Blast, 3 Gemini Sparks, 2 Super Poly's, 2 Miracle Fusions). Only real reason why I'm getting such a huge tally is because I want to foil the deck out.

Hero Blast was interesting though...the supers are the exact same price as the commons and rares (at least when I bought my two).

Otherwise, yeah the deck's pretty cheap.

That's probably what it costs them to make an ENTIRE booster pack.

So an entire Box of 24 packs probably costs them about $8.50 in total to produce, although taking into consideration labour, running expenses, advertising and overheads, it is probably closer to $10.00.

company employees and managers have to be paid, it cost money for card design, then freight and shipping, middlemen, store owners and employees need to be paid, stocking, etc

My mistake. They're actually $4 each, but that's still pretty good. Keep in mind, the only commons are from sets that...aren't common, lol. (Turbo Pack and Hobby League.) Otherwise all the other prints are higher rarity and very old.

OMFG redeyesblkd. Are you actually using real words and not cut up ones like squiddy? WHAT IS THIS BLACK MAGIC ******Y

But anyways, all what you just said have nothing to do with the actual money spent for each card. Just what goes into the process of making the cards being made and then shipped as consumer goods.
