Default Cards Of Justice: Episode 1

“Damm it! How could I lose?” the boy said as his Life points were reduced to zero.
“Simple, it because your weak! Now then, I’ll be taking this!” the boy’s opponent said as he took a card from his opponent’s deck. “Wha... you can’t do tha...” he began. “I just did. Deal with it!” the other boy said as he walked away. He turned the corner and was gone into the night.

As he walked away, Tony Caculus reflected on his victory. “Shame everyone’s so weak. It makes this almost too easy,” he said as he looked at the Montage Dragon he stole from his latest victim. “This’ll make the boys happy,” the seventeen year old said to himself as he thought about the duel gang he was in. There goal was to take everyone else’s good cards so they’d be the best duellist in Roldam city. Roldam was a small city that was filled with duellist and was home to many duel arenas and many tournaments were held here. There was even a duel academy set up in the main part of the city and despite the city’s small size it was a popular tourist attraction that saw many new faces every day. Tony wore his usual attire, a simple black T-shirt with a torn red jacket over the top of it, black denim jeans, red sport shoes and white socks. His short, spiky hair was black and he had it spiking in every direction. Suddenly, there was figure blocking Tony’s path. A man in a black coat and top hat stood before him with a standard, black duel disk on his right arm.
“Hey old man, move it or lose it!” Tony said when he saw the outline of the man who was practically invisible in the moonless light. The man simply responded by arming his duel disk. “Oh, so that how you wanna play this huh?” Tony said as he armed his own red duel disk.

“Duel!” they shouted!

“Since you’re a creep, I’ll start!” Tony said as he drew his first card. It was Foolish Burial. “I activate Foolish Burial and with it I can send my Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from my deck to the Graveyard!” as he played the card, the deck holder of his duel disk spat out a card which he then placed in the Graveyard zone of his duel disk. “But he won’t be there for long ‘cause I play Monster Reborn to Special Summon my Red-eyes in attack mode!” he said and as he did a black dragon with metallic skin, and eerie black glow and red-eyes appeared on the field. “Then I use his ability to Special summon another dragon from my hand! And I summon my Chthonian Emperor Dragon!” As Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon let out a roar a new serpent-like, black dragon with bone-like armor and two sets of wings appeared on the field. “Then I normal summon my Dread Dragon and tune him with my Chthonian Emperor Dragon to create Black Brutdrago!” A bull-like, black dragon covered with spikes appeared from the green rings formed from Dread Dragon Tuning with Chthonian Emperor Dragon. Both this new dragon and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon let lose bone chilling roars filled with hunger. “But I’m not done yet! I activate Dragon’s brith! With this I can Special summon a level six or lower Dragon from my Graveyard if I control 2 or more Lv 7 or higher dragons! And I use it to bring my Chthonian Emperor Dragon back to the field and then I play Solidarity!” As Tony’s third dragon reappeared all three of his dragons were covered with multicoloured light. “with my Solidarity spell all my dragons gain 800 attack points cause there’s only Dragon’s in my grave and I’ll end by setting 1 card face-down! Over to you gramps!” he said as a large cards appeared behind his three dragons. Perfect, he thought, some of my best cards all out at once, no way he’ll win this.

The mysterious man drew a card. “I activate Mystical Space Typhoon,” he said in a deep, unsettling voice. A giant version of the card appeared on his field and a vicious windstorm shattered Tony’s face-down Call Of The Haunted. “Damm you old man! Hope you choke on your pills tonight” The man simply grunted in reply. “I play Dark Hole,” he said and horror filled Tony’s eyes. “You what?” Before he could be answered a black hole opened up above the field and all of Tony’s dragons were sucked through it. “Huh, don’t know your cards do ya gramps ‘cause when Black Brutdrago’s destroyed I can Special Summon a Gemini monster from my Graveyard and it gets its effect. And guess who’s back,” Tony said as his Chthonian Emperor Dragon reappeared a third time. The man didn’t even seem bothered. “Smashing Ground,” he said as he played the card. “Wha...” Tony got no further before the ground below his dragon erupted and destroyed it. “Then I play Monster Reborn,” the man said before Tony could respond, “and I bring back your Black Brutdrago.” Tony’s dragon appeared on the man’s field and let lose a roar that nearly knocked Tony down. “What? No way!” “Then I play Axe of Despair,” the man said as a giant wooded axe appeared in Black Brutdrago’s hand <3000 – 4000>. “N... No... No way! It has 4000 attack points! But that means...” “You’re through! Attack!” the man shouted as Black Brutdrago unleashed a fireball and swung with the Axe of Despair. “AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Tony shouted as the attack blew him back.

As Tony got up he heard a metallic click. He looked up and saw a revolver pointed at his head.
“Had over the deck kid,” the man said.
“What? No way why would I...” he began but the man raised the gun higher to his forehead. “Fine,” he said as he handed his deck over to the stranger. “Thanks,” he said and he began to walk away from the beaten teen. Tony planed to tackle the man to the ground and take his deck back when the man turned himself. “Oh and by the way...” he said after he’d taken five steps. The last thing Tony heard before he passed out was a loud bang.

-----------------------------------------

When Tony awoke his right side throbbed with pain and he couldn’t even try to sit up. He looked around and saw he was in his room. ‘How?’ he wondered. Last he remembered was dueling a man wearing black and losing. Before he could try to remember more, the door to his room opened and his aunt walked in with a tray of food.
“Thought you’d be awake by now,” she said with the usual loving tone she always did. Tony tried to look away but was in too much pain to move even his fingers. “You really must try to keep out of trouble Tony. What would your mother say if she saw you like this?” Tony simply grunted a reply. His parents died many years ago. No one knew what happened to them but their disappearance was the talk of the city at the time. Tony was only young then and he only had his Aunt Mary to look after him. She had long blue hair, fair skin and she always wore an apron over her plain pink dress. “Tony please, try to behave. Stealing cards and money aren’t good things. Today was the eighth time this week the police were at our door... and it’s only Tuesday!” She sighed. “At least this time you weren’t in trouble. But please don’t give me any more heart attacks.” Tony didn’t respond. “Ok then, be silent. I know how to get your attention anyway. Whatever happened last night, whoever shot you, took your deck,” she said bluntly. Tony sprang up as the memories flood back to him only to be met with unbearable pain! As he clenched his stomach his aunt settled him back down. “Take it easy tiger. If you just relax for the rest of the day, you should be fine to go to that tournament tomorrow. Deck or none you can still watch the others duel and honestly this is karma coming back to get you.” Tony just decided the pain he was feeling physically was less painful than his aunt’s lecture so he decided to turn his head and deal with that pain instead. “Fine, be that way. Just get plenty of rest” she said as she left the room. Tony didn’t want to rest, he wanted to get payback against the guy that beat him. He was a top notch duelist, one of the best in the city. He’d beaten tons of people before and then this one old guy shows up and beats him with just four cards. And to add insult to injury, he stole his deck. THE NERVE! Between swearing internally and grunts of pain, Tony eventual fell back into a deep sleep.

----------------------------------

“Maybe I was too tough on him. Maybe he just needs some affection instead of discipline,” Mary Rose said to her boy friend John Arthur downstairs in the kitchen, “he’s a good boy but he’s always running amuck.”

“I say just keep doin’ what your doin’. Eventually you’ll win. The kid’s stubborn but so are you... and I mean that in a good way,” he said as Mary gave him a look with “and what does that mean?” written all over it.

“No, I’m afraid I won’t. You never met my sister did you? He get’s that from her and believe me I’m nothing compared to her. She once said in high school we’d both go and ask the boys we liked to a school dance and when I chickened out on her she set up a whole plan to get him to go with me and make it look like I did it. Don’t laugh! It’s not funny when the boy you like opens his locker and streamers and confetti fly out at him and there’s a note asking if he wants’ to go to the dance with Mary Rose, who’s sister just happens to get her to walk by at the exact moment all this happens. I said stop laughing!”

“Did she really do all that?” John asked holding his stomach as he laughed, “She really was stubborn.” Mary just looked down into her cup of coffee. All she wanted to do was help her nephew but he hated her and she knew it. She hated seeing him in pain and loved him very dearly. All she wanted to do was to make that pain he was in disappear. He was such a hot headed boy. She wanted him to learn patience and caring but all he wanted to do was play cards. Then an idea struck her like a wrecking ball. She got up and grabbed her jacket and hand bag. “Where are you going?” John asked. She just smiled and walked out the door.

-------------------------------

As Tony walked down the wooden stairs to the kitchen and living room, still in pain from being shot, he was greeted with the ever loving smile of his aunt’s face. “I see you’re up again. The doctor’s really did a good job getting that bullet out of your side. Feel better?”

“Well I’m walking aren’t I?” he replied.

“I’ll take that means yes. Going to that tournament?” she asked.

“Duh, what’s it to you?” he said as he tried to get out the door before she could ask any more questions.

“Oh, nothing really. I just thought that since you lost your deck, maybe you wouldn’t go.”

“Oh I’m going alright! Just cause me deck’s gone doesn’t mean that I can’t get another one! I don’t need...” he started.

“That’s fine. I just thought that since it was stolen, I’d give you one to use,” she said with a sweet smile.

“Wha... what?” he asked. He walked over to his aunt and she placed a deck box on the table.

“Use these at the tournament. I know you liked your old deck but please use these. They’re a gift from your auntie who will always look out for you,” Mary said as her nephew picked up the deck box. Before he could open it the room suddenly filled with the sound of the clock striking 10:00. “You’re going to be late if you don’t hurry,” she said. Tony looked at the clock and turned around and walked away. As he walked through the door he said

“Thanks Aunt Mary.” As the door slammed shut Mary smiled to herself and went about her usually daily activities.

End episode 1.
