Congrats on the Toulouse win, guys. This deck is very interesting. I guess it goes to show that no matter what happens, Dragons will always kick ass.

What's worse than people netdecking? People whining about other people netdecking.
The deck Reed uses is good, otherwise he wouldn't have made it to the finals. You have to be able to beat Dino Rabbits, because it's the most popular deck. You shouldn't copy Reed's deck card for card, but it is a good guide line.

It was all a meta call ! Bandwagon riders played rabbit, they got wrecked !
But what really caught my eyes in the deck is TRIPLE Solar Recharge : that was just PRO.
How didn't never think about it before ?
But hey, at least i was right when i said the lightsworn engine was the best for the deck.
Also i lol at the people saying the deck wasn't even that good, or even worse, that it wasn't chaos dragons !
Tourguide : we won't talk about, but recharge reaaaaally gives the deck BOTH a draw engine ( wich we never had, besides allure ) and a mill engine.
Deck is pro. Haters gonna hate.

Lightsworn dragons are in the finals of YCS Dallas too against a rabbit ! I'm impatient for the resuuuuuults !
edit : it's more a lightsworn deck since it has JDs. Meh, even if it manages to win.

I have quite a bit of experience with the deck in question, even though it's been a while. Matter of fact I was one of the few who said that Monster Mash variations of Chaos Dragons were the best when people were still figuring out the deck, and lookie here, everyone plays Monster Mash variants in some form or another, including the YCS winning deck. Sorry, but the deck isn't good. It has some good choices, but if you've sat down and played Chaos Dragon at least once you'd see that the deck doesn't hold up too well.
Solar Recharge engine was cool, as is Tour Guide (the later has been used for a while now in certain builds). However it doesn't do anything particularly different from the usual builds, aside from having a rather inconsistent frame.

I've already made my argument. For one he is running 3 Darkflare Dragons and 3x Chaos Sorc in the deck, when at most all you need is 1 of each. He rely too much on milling strategies when milling should only be a part of the deck not the main focus. He isn't using Future Fusion, which is allows Chaos Dragons to win instantly. His side deck is bad and full of cards that should be int he main deck. Also running only 2 Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon is bad, especially since those two take the spot of Eclipse Wyvern targets.

I stopped reading when you said " 3 darkflares are bad, you only need 1" .

You do. 2 at most. 3 is just unnecessary and cluttered.

I've been playing chaos dragons since the release.
And it has been proven that when you don't get your Future Fusion, darkflare is the one who sets up you plays.
It's just that people still won't get it, and emphasize more on pulsars revival ( wich is all he has to him ).

It depends on the build and thats what people dont get. for grosses build he
didnt run enough dragons to warrant 3 darkflare and FF. but for a PURE chaos
dragon build (ill call it eclipse dragons) that runs ladd DDA purply etc 1 FF 3
darkflare 2 pulsar and 2-3 DDA are standard. Btmrocks is talking about a
different build than we are. (giving benefit of the doubt)
so in retrospect you are both correct.

Yup, what you described is an eclipse dragon deck, wich is different from the chaos dragons that won the YC.

I feel stupid that I've never realized Lyla is an 1800atk MST that mills in this deck. It literally slows down 0 of the deck's plays. Everyone playing this deck that isn't already maining 3 Lylas should take out any and all MSTs in the deck and replace them with Lylas. That's so sick.

Went another 3-1 with my chaos dragon build at a local. 1st round I 2-1 piper-chaos, 2nd 2-0 evolsaur, 3rd round I 2-0 dark world (Neko Mane King won round 2 for me) first time playing him (great dw player). Round four I play the same wind-up player. He wins dice roll, loops me (long first duel he wins) 2nd game I 1st turn LaDD with Future Fusion and win with five headed. 3rd duel he loops me again and has the Pot of Avarice for the win (no neko, veiler, or crow open). Took 2nd and only changes I made from last tourny is -instant fusion, -dragons mirror, +d.d. crow x2.

I always played 3 lylas and 3 mst main decked. Especially since almost all of my local decks run a trap heavy lineup.

I quite like reeds build. To an extent. I prefer some of the other cards I have used prior to testing his build. Changes I made to fit my playstyle;
I wanna find something to drop for Ladd or galaxy eyes.
So far it looks like this.
1 dad
1 bls
1 jd
1 Gorz
1 psz
2 eclipse
2 redmd
1 ehren
2 veiler
2 ryko
1 card trooper
3 dda
1 phantom of chaos
1 lumina
2 chaos sorc
2 dark flare
2 pulsar
3 lyla
1 Jain
1 dark hole
1 heavy
1 allure
3 solar recharge
1 ff
1 reborn
1 charge
1 reasoning
