Default Booster boxes worth it?

I was curious if booster boxes are worth it? I'm thinking of getting my first one (Order of chaos), but are they really worth the cost? I don't really need too much from ORCS but should I still get one or is buying a few packs at a time better?

Packs are usually a horrid way of profitting, unless you can get them super cheap. Boxes are usually only good if you want to make decks from the archetypes within the set.

just buy singles you need/want, boxes are not really a good way of obtaining cards, unless you have the money to blow/have fun opening the packs.

If you can, buy singles.

I would recommend single packs over boxes, personally. I just had better experiences with packs, pulling more secrets/ultras/supers than in boxes.

Depends how you value the "fun" you get from opening a box. Better value comes from turbo packs and special editions.

i wouldn't suggest it. you hear these dream stories of perfect boxes that people buy, but then you'll get one and get jank. they're fun, but really not worth it. although, you could scale out all the rares, then sell the remaining packs for ~$2 or so to make some money back. i've been considering doing this.

My packs come from my locals tourney wins. I pull the occasional secret, ultra, and ulti, and considering I pretty much got them for free...

This ^^^ never buy boxes, unless their is a large percentage of Commons/Rares you want from the set...otherwise singles are your best bet...also avoid sets where the only valuable cards are Ultra Rare or above (like Photon Shockwave sans Brilliant)

I am 99.9 percent sure that MOST of the box "pulls" listed on this site are fake...honestly someone tried to claim he pulled 3 Hornet, Tour Bus, AND White Dragon Ninja in the same box....

i'd say go for a box if you can get a great deal. some guy at my locals managed to pull one for $2 from some stupid guy.

of course he then pulled a zenmaines from it and trade it to me for almost nothing, but that's another story...

(part in red) That said, you shouldn't buy boxes then.....

I don't know what your financial situation is, or how much packs & boxes run for in your area.... so I can't answer that last question for you....
