Default Dolkka vs Gorz

Quick question: You can use Evolzar Dolkka's effect to negate Gorz's token-summoning ability, correct? My friend was trying to tell me that I can't.

AKA this scenario:

I attack directly with Evolzar Dolkka
Opponent drops Gorz and special summons a token
I use Dolkka's effect to negate Gorz's effect that special summons a token
Opponent's field is clear again for other monsters to attack.

You can even negate Gorz's effect that special summon itself from hand.

Oh nice that means I can negate Trag, too.

You can negate a monster effect that activates with Evolzar Dolkka.

Dolkka negates effects and destroys the monster whose effect it negated. Tragoedia, Gorz, and Battle Fader all summon themselves through their effect, thus Dolkka can negate and destroy them. Since it is and effect that negates, it can be activated even during the damage step.

So by that logic, I guess Swift Scarecrow would also not work against Dolkka since its an effect?

You could have just started a new thread. But yes, Evolzar Dolkka can negate the activation of Swift Scarecrow's effect.

Yea, same with "Cannon Soldier" and "Man-Eater Bug".

No, we don't need a new thread for basically the same question.

And while I don't feel like making a new thread and got almost the same question: What about Laggia? If Laggia attacks directly and a Gorz/Tragoedia/Battle Fader is triggered, can Laggia negate them?

Evolzar Laggia does not negate effects.

And how many times would you care to guess this question has asked? Use the search function.

I thought since Scarecrow is similar to Fader, why should I start a new thread for the same question. Laggia would prevent Gorz, Fader or Tragoedia but not Scarecrow.

He cannot negate any of those.
