Default exploder dragonwing?

1. does its eff work on facedown monsters?
2. can it destroy Spirit Reaper and Marshmallon?
3. in what situations does it really shine?

1. Face-down monsters don't have ATK, so you can't compare anything to its own ATK.

2. Why wouldn't it? Explain.

3. Under a soft white bulb, just make sure you have the right angle.

1) No.
2) If face-up, yes.
3) When your opponent is redeyesblkd?

That won't help in the slightest. They can chain those cards to Dragonwing's effect and beat you.

How would it stay on the field? Last I checked, when a bigger monster battles a smaller one, the smaller one dies. That's exactly what happens here. "Honest" boosts the other monster's ATK to be higher than Dragonwing's, so Dragonwing does nothing to the other monster. The only way to go from there is to proceed with the battle.

Shucks. Well it's still good for getting damage off of a potential suicide crash with a monarch or something like that.

Go ask in strategies. They have a nice Dragon strategy discussion thread over there, unless you have more rulings questions for here.

This card is an excellent counter against card effects that can only activate during damage calculation, such as "Honest" and "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow".

looks like u failed mr. redshift....

it says IMMEDIATELY ON dragonwings eff

I'm really not in the mood for this. Official ruling:

Quote:
If, while the effect is being resolved, the other monster’s ATK becomes higher than that of "Exploder Dragonwing", the effect of "Exploder Dragonwing" is not applied.

hahahaha i was just kidding (about you failing- in all honestly i thought i was right) and im sorry for offending u and thanks for always being there for the rulings.

if dragonwings eff does not resolve does that mean that the battle phase restarts like Call Of The Haunted or the attk goes through and he goes to the grave?
