Default [CCG Concept] Transmutation

Guess where I got this idea from :P

Each Player has X Life. When your Life is 0, you lose.

Each Player has two decks: Resource & Transmutation. You draw from your Resource deck only. Each deck has a MAX Limit (Say 20?)

The Resource Deck contains "Material", each Material card has one of five classical element symbols (Fire, Earth, Air, Water, Aether).

The Transmutation deck has three different kind of cards: Homunculus, Item & Event Cards. Each of these have a combination out of the 5 Elemental Symbols. To play a card from your Transmutation, you return the same combination of Elemental Material cards that are listed on the card your trying to play from the Transmutation deck to your resource deck:

Example: Salamander/Homunculus/Fire-Earth <-- To play this, you need to return 1 Material with the Fire Element Symbol and 1 Material with the Earth Element Symbol back to your Resource deck from your hand (your resource deck is then shuffled).

Homunculus have Power value and sometimes an Ability. Item's have an ability and often stay on the field whereas Events activated once and don't stay on the field. When a Transmuted card leaves the field, it returns to the transmutation deck.

For battle, your Homunculus can attack your Opponent's Homunculus, higher power wins, left-over damage is dealt to the Opponent. If your Opponent has no Homunculus, you can attack your Opponent directly.

I kinda like this idea. when Im in more of a creative mood I will see what I can do with it

Some other ideas.

Homunculus improvement. Say a Player wanted to play "Lava Snail" which costs Fire-Fire-Earth. Well if that player already controls a Fire-Earth Salamander, they can ditch the Salamander and a Fire Material to play the Lava Snail instead of ditching three materials.

Additional Comment:

Some other thoughts:

Resource Materials = Health, you lay them under the Homunculus you've created and each time there is a successful attacking against them, you Remove from play one of those materials. When all are RFP'ed, your Homouculus is destroyed.

Adding onto this, Homunculus will have Abilities which they can use provided the have the necessary materials still attached to them (think Pokemon with energy but in reverse).

Also, Win Condition, still combat-oriented but once you deck out your Resource deck you lose, a Homunculus will have the base "Critical" ability which is how many card's it mills (maybe RFP's) off the top of the opponent's deck when they get a direct attack in.

Dayum, why don't I look into this game more? I was thinking about giving it a closed design like Vanguard and have sub-divisions of Elements based on the Zodiac.
