That was back when the storyline was actually good (at least compared to how it is today). And unlike a responsible writer, Tite Kubo admitted he makes it up as he goes along.

I don't flip back through my notes in my own stories because I'm obsessive - I want to have continuity. That's supposed to help a story. If it changes as it goes along, how are you supposed to trust what came before? This is the same problem with the power scale that's always being discussed in here.

There, Unohana praises Ichigo.

She says he's the only one who can defeat Aizen.
んで、鏡花水月の能力と発動条件説明。
And then goes on to explain the abilities and conditions of kyoukasuigetsu.

Yammi unloads a barrage of punches.

Kenpachi cuts off a finger.

He says he'll use that space to cut him down.

Byakuya and Mayuri convo.

They say something like, "why are you still here?"

卯の花、始解を見ていない黒崎さんしか倒せない
Unohana says that only Ichigo can defeat Aizen because he hasn't seen his shikai.
始解だけはみてはいけないと 話す。
And once one has seen Aizen's shikai it's useless.

It would be so cool if whole time, it's like Aizen shiki broke the fourth wall and whole time we the readers think that the captains have been winning but we were all under Aizens power and the Arrancar were winning

I think it's more that he actually has some chance, while everyone else is completely hopeless. Why Aizen can't release the moment they start fighting is beyond me . . .

I mean, the Shinigami deliberately making their battles much harder and more time-consuming than they needed to be is forced to be acceptable because they're the good guys and Kubo probably wasn't TRYING to give us the impression that the arrancar were completely fscking irrelevant, but Aizen, Mr. Omnigenius villain, deliberately did not win the battle instantly until all of his minions were dead? What the hell?!

As people have been saying, maybe he wanted to get the Arrancar out of the way for some reason? Maybe they haven't even FOUGHT the minions yet?

Entire chapter was pretty good. Aizen sitting on his troll throne on his mountain of troll victims is pretty amazing.

What I'm saying is Aizen is Kubo incarnate.

Good chapter over all, I think Kubo is going up in my books again slightly. Just wondering what would they do if Aizen is just on the other side of the Garganta with his sword out, saying 'look at me' in his sexy superman way.
