Default "New" Old Player- need to catch up since I last played

I want to start playing pokemon again, although i havent played since I think Neo Revelations, which came out a long time ago.

Want to know if the game has changed at all since, and if older people are playing (im in my 20's), and any other info you think is important for me to know.

Yes you should.
Just like Pokemon GO, players from 10 years ago are coming back to the TCG too.

The largest age group, by far, is Masters, which is 15 and over.
The majority of players are 18 and over. Many (most) in their 20s.

Wow honestly I don't really know what that set is. I remember way back in 1999 When it was the base set but last set I played with was probably When gold and silver came out. So I guess nearly 15 years ago. (Not sure).

Recently bought the pikachu and mewtwo decks due to the nostalgia and was wondering how the set cycling works?

Every year, at September, some sets are rotated out from Standard. You can check which sets are allowed in Standard there: http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-ne...tion-for-2017/

The majority of players are 20 and older.
If anything, we need more kids.

Respect my man. I remember being a player back in the Neo days. Still not as fun as Gym Challenge was IMO.

The game has added some different types of Pokemon like Prime, EX, GX, Legends, Lv. X, Mega Evolution, Break, trainers in the form of once per turn Supporters, and a few other things here and there.

In my area its mostly younger players that play at the moment, but a fair number play at the college level as well. A few of my friends are also returning after a number of years too, which is nice as well.
