Default Mind Drain? The best tech for this format?

I was looking around on the wiki card trips for the Card Mind Drain. And this is what I found:

Side this card against Mermail decks, to prevent them using the effect of their boss monsters, which discards cards from the hand to Special Summon themselves.

This card can be side against Prophecy/Spellbook decks, to prevent them from using the effect of their boss monster, High Priestess of Prophecy, which reveals cards from the hand to Special Summon itself.

Side this card against Elemental Dragon decks, to prevent them from using their dragons' effects that Banish/Discard from the hand because they cannot activate in the hand while Mind Drain is active on the field.

I just picked up two of these last Saturday. I play sams and it does hurt my Kizans and elders, but raioh hurts my signals and rota and I side that. I plan on siding mind drain too. (dunno yet) I just hope it doesn't hurt me too much since I also side hand traps like maxx c and droll and lock and veiler

Maxx c is good this format against the decks that mind drain is good against. But wait that is sorta conflicting right?

So you get mind drain before maxx c those maxx c's are dead. It's not like conflicting cards cannot coincide (gadgets and tking for example)

but I can see that being annoying. what to do...

oh i c. they FINALLY kill that annoying mind drain, then you're like lolol maxx c ***** when they can make their plays and then you draw the other from maxx c. maybe its too late at that point tho

It's an early game card. Soul Drain is a medium/late game card that is also more consistent. Summoning from the hand actually has a meaningful cost (as they cannot keep on searching) and they are taking minuses while summoning dragossack that way. If you bottomless a dragossack while you have Soul Drain up is usually taking you into a victory against ele dragons.

Imperial Iron Wall is also much better than mind drain.

Mind drain is only good in evilswarms to stop blaster.

I am pretty sure this doesn't stop Kizan or Elder as those are summoning conditions, not effects.

I do like this card. I plan on siding two this format.

They are like Cyber Dragon, which is an inherent summon. You do choose to use the effect, but it doesn't actually activate. Mind Drain won't stop Kizan or Elder from being special summoned.

No lol your right but Memory Loss is a card I tend to side against Hazy decks. Doesn't target.... stops Sphynx from milling and peryton from activating and changes them to defence exposing their weak sides. I won't tell ya how many Hazy plays I have crushed with Memory Loss
