I can't believe the NBA thinking Chris Paul to the lakers is unfair, but Dwight is ok.

I liked this trade from the Nuggets and Sixers stand point. I see the Sixers now as a 4-5 seed in the east. The Nuggets got Iggy.

The difference is the league owned the Hornets at the time of the CP3 trade so Stern could actually veto it (even though it was still BS). In this situation, he has no authority to do so.
Major get for LA. I'm amazed they were able to keep Gasol after the initial deal had him being shipped out. Mitch Kupchek is a hell of a GM to pull that one off.
Also, not sure what Orlando is thinking. Out of all the rumored Howard deals they turned down, the one they accepted is by far the worst.

Mayo-worse than Jason Terry who they lost.
Collison-Solid, upgrade over Kidd.
Kaman-Good Center.
Elton Brand-Washed up and overpaid.

Kaman and Brand would be a great frontcourt if this were 2005.

Dallas is a 7-8 in the west first round exit again this year. But they have a ton of cap room for next years free agent class

Dallas will sign mediocre players at best, Dwight already bought a house near Kobe's in LA, pretty much means he'll sign long term with LA.

I'm with Proto in thinking that D12 remains a Laker for the long term.

Well, on paper they do sound very good right now but let's just see if they can mesh together in a short time.

If Dwight signs long term which is possible. I can see the Lakers looking for fresh shooting guard in the future to replace Kobe and the cycle just keeps on repeating itself.
Good luck to the Celtic and Yankee fans.

A house doesn't really mean much. Shaq lived in Orlando his entire career. KG lives in LA despite playing in Minnesota and Boston. When you've got the cash these guys have, its no big deal to get a plane ride home or to have a luxury apartment in the city you play in. Howard could easily live in LA and play elsewhere.
But I tend to agree he stays with the Lakers. Only way he leaves is if he really hates LA's management and to a smaller extent, his teammates. He'll still enter free agency though. Financially, he can make the most money by entering FA and resigning with LA than he can if he signed an extension.

Is anyone else getting this hilarious feeling that the Sixers signed Kwame Brown for $6 million? The dude's a joke of a basketball player.

Yes. A joke that's managed to stay in the league for 10+ years
But I get what you're saying. He's not worth 6 mil. They recklessly threw money at Nick Young as well.

It's what NBA teams do. Recklessly throw money at people.

Yup, although he did lead his clippers bench during the first round against the grizzlies.

Knicks have officially become fossilized with their new acquisitions over the summer, including a 35 yr old rookie... but he is pretty good though. Also, Felton lost a lot of weight.

LOL Lakers. Only reason I want them to win a ring is for Steve Nash. They better do it soon though...

I would submit this video to anyone who believes that it's a minority opinion that Lebron gave up against the Celtics in 2010, his last game for Cleveland. Two of the most respected sportswriters in the business agree with that very sentiment.
