Personally, I wish it was starting earlier than September - but it makes sense considering the base set hits in September.
Overall, this seems pretty good. 3 different promos, 2 for just playing enough, and there is reward for those who play well/more which is always good.

I actually found it while casually browsing. Was looking to see if any news had been announced about becoming a Kaijudo judge and those links were in recent news.

Its funny, out of all the sites I go through for info daily, sometimes these things slip by.
Guess I ought to watch the WPN site more, although I also said that the last time....

Yeah like I said I was just casually browsing. I was FB chatting Andy Criss (Aiden Thorne) and he said how he was declared the judge for his store and how he was annoyed by it lol. I then went on the DCI website to see if they had some pre-screening materials for Kaijudo judges and the info was just under recent news and I went nuts lol.

Its funny how if conversations like that didn't happen, then we might not have seen it for weeks.

Yeah just to reiterate that was posted the 12th. It was also set out to retailers, which I'm surprised not 1 person found out sooner.

Luckily I'm now getting the retailer news letters weekly!
More to the post though, does anyone else notice that the league is only a month long?
Drizer suggested that they may be having multiple leagues similar to pokemon, I was very disappointed when I saw "Emphasizes cooperation over competition"
I hope we get some competitive play events sooner rather than later!

I would imagine they do separate leagues for different sets of promos. The real thing to know is whether Moorna/Flare are in these ded/ris sets..shouter is, so its likely.

I was wondering the same thing. I'd imagine the leagues would run for 1 month, then the promo card is changed. That gives a majority of the people to earn both promo cards, and then it is changed. It will probably be difficult to attain the level 2 card, just because they would expect the person to be coming atleast 3/4 weeks I'd think. Plus, they don't want people who have already earned the promo cards to get bored and not show up because they have nothing to gain from it.
What I'm wondering is if it is going to cost anything to register. I know with Pokemon, everything was completely free. I don't recall Wizards ever really giving us much for free aside from the DMAX program, so I'd like to see where this is going.

I'm going to help my local store set up a league. I might become a judge if I have to.

I hope some of my local stores host leagues for these. I really prefer this game over CFV as a substitute for Yugioh. Plus it's fairly cheap to build a deck compared to other games, and easier to learn.

Vanguard - I'm probably going to be the same thing here. I've already been in contact with my local game shop owner about continuing to bring product in and that I'm trying to create interest in the game and he seemed willing to actually try and help out a bit.
Hopefully I get enough interest going to get a league started - right now We're up to 5 people locally, with the potential for a few more already. So I'm going to keep going in and playing and try to get people interested.

Free cards and a friendly environment that promotes play and gets more people into the game? That doesn't sound great JUST for kids, it's a plus for the entire Kaijudo community as a whole. I'm 26 and I will be attending the league. haha.

I agree - this is exactly how things need to get started. From what I can see, WotCs goal isn't to steal hardened vets of other CCGs (which is the goal of many new games), rather to indoctrinate NEW players who will not have had experience in relation to playing CCGs at this point.

Yep, this pretty much looks like a great start. I'm hoping they will use this as a stepping stone for competitive play. It'd be a great way to introduce people to the game and then, somewhere down the road, start a competitive scene. I'm excited for this league to start! It looks like a lot of fun.
