Yugioh "Commander" Format?

This would normally be where I would suggest a player-run Format-type. But when perusing through the F/L discussion threads I always have to retract that statement because we can't ever agree on what should/should not be banned/limited. We don't really do a much better job than Konami does haha. If the dueling community could come to a consensus on a type of Format and F/L list then it could be shoe-horned into the mainstream one way or another.

Granted, if it were player created it would also more than likely have to be player lead. Unless Konami saw profit in making the format semi-official and supported it with Tournaments and such it would be up to the player base to do so. And I know we are made of money and what not with all the Rabbit decks rolling around, but seriously... Who wants to rent out a Convention center, purchase 5 of the newest set for each attendant, find volunteers to be judges and compensate them for their day, deal with 'that' side of the yugioh player base and on top of all of that have it all unsupported by Konami?

I am still ALL for a Player-Made Format, but we need several things

1. True organization (fat chance)
2. An F/L that at least a 2/3 (preferably 3/4) majority can agree upon
3. Actual Format support (be it Locals, player run tourneys, etc.)
4. Support from Konami IF achievable

Drop the attribute rule, it's too restrictive. Otherwise looks like a fine casual format.

my friends and i play a commander style format every now and then. pretty much the rules mantracker posted but its exactly a 100 card deck and the monsters in the deck can be EITHER the attribute OR the type of the commander. ladd or any warrior with an attribute of choice are common choices.

I guess this could be on topic, but remember the "deck master", or whatever it was called, way of playing yugioh in the anime series, where Yugi and friends are trapped in that virtual world due to the green haired height challenged Kaiba, aka Noah?

How exactly is that game played again?

Tbh, I think Advanced Format should be renamed to Sacky Format, and they should make a whole new format where you can actually PLAY control decks and WIN with them.
