Good question, there's no information from E3. I'm surprised. I expect to hear things in this upcoming TGS.

I'm with you, I don't know why a lot of people are saying Square is letting their fans down but that video looks promising.

It's just very hard to relate/connect to the new FF.

That's because we are getting older. In the future, we'll be telling offsprings "Well, in our time we had this, and that etc".

In MY day, your airship was a boat with a propeller on top. It could only land on grassy plains, and there was no guy named "Cid" to run it. That's the way it was, and we liked it that way!
In MY day, your enemy didn't need 10,000,000 HP. It had 2000 HP, and could be killed with a single white mage, if you knew what you were doing. That's the way it was, and we liked it that way!
To whomever it was I was discussing Death spam on FF13, I have to say that after getting Fang a respectable Kain's Lance (from Venus Gospel), she does great at killing Adamantortoises (along with Lightning and Vanille). MUCH easier than hoping for some luck with Death spam. I buff the party with SYN/SYN/SYN, shift to SAB/RAV/SAB stagger a leg, shift to COM/COM/RAV, Highwind, and do the same for the second leg. I usually have to heal up once before staggering the second leg. After both legs are gone, shift to SAB/RAV/SAB again, get it to 500% stagger, and shift to COM/COM/RAV one last time to destroy it. Fang currently has around 3400 ATK / 2100ish MAG, and is getting up into the 168,000+ range on some attacks. (Kain's Lance*, Power Wrist* x 2, Genji Glove, Collector Cagalog*) I've been finishing off the Adamantortoise in about 3 mins this way. I've gotten it down to 1:44 using summon. (Buff with SYN/SYN/SYN, summon Bahamut, go SAB, stagger it up to 500%, switch to COM/COM/RAV, and let Bahamut go away normally, not using gestalt mode. When Light and Vanille come back, it's over very shortly.)

10 was my favorite, story-wise. These new games seem to focus more on gameplay and collecting and not enough on the story.

Okay, this is ridiculous. I thought I had seen the worst of Final Fantasy dungeons when I played through the Sylph Cave in IV, NDS version. Nope. The one in the PSP version is pretty much unbeatable. Poison floors, Sleep-casting and Silence-casting Ghosts, just-about-every-debuff-casting Malboros, hidden pathways, enemies that can 3HKO you in melee... Any advice? I saved inside and I can't get out. Best character is lvl 33, worst is 27.

They did make that dungeon stupidly hard in the PSP remake. I find it to be rather unnecessary, and I usually don't go in there til' I'm close to beating the game. Sylph summon sucks, but I like having the wooden spoon to throw at Zeromus.
Make sure Rosa knows Float before you go in there, to avoid the poison floors. If I go in there while in my 30's or low 40's, I run from all fights, vs. the Malboros, especially, since they do "Bad Breath". The bog witches aren't so bad, as they only do "frog" status and don't hit hard. The trees and ghosts doing sleep and silence can hurt you, but if you're stocked up on items to counter those effects, it shouldn't be too much of a problem, other than time and expense. Again, I run from all fights except the ones at the end of the dungeon... inside the treasure chests. I found that even at end game, because of the status, that cave is still kinda tough.
If you don't know float yet, level up until Rosa learns it. You can head to the cave that leads to the land of summoned monsters, and fight Arachne for awhile. They won't hurt you as long as float is active, and you can finish them off easily. Just stay close to the entrance if you're having trouble, so you can fly back to the magic pot entrance to the dwarven castle. LALI-HO! for free HP/MP renewal!
The only other advice I could give is to stock up on hi-potions and status removers and ethers. Being able to summon helps a lot in that cave, but I'm a miser and don't want to waste my MP.

Looks like there is another Final Fantasy Sale!
IV: The Complete collection is a real deal at €9.99. Two-games-in-one, and they came out in 2011. If you're not into 1997 games, this is for you.
I might pick VI. Where are you, PS1 game compatibility for PS Vita?
Any reason I've never heard anything about II or V? Are they for hardcore fans only?

Thanks for the advice. I leveled up to about 40 just outside the healing pot. I could auto-battle everything there and they did almost no damage while giving decent EXP. Then I tried the cave that leads to the Eidolons. It turned out to be challenging beacause I ran out of MP. I spent like 30 Hi-Pots.
Then I stepped on the wrong teleporter and got kicked out. :/ Oh well, the equipment I found in there stays, and so do the levels. I think I can take the Sylph cave challenge now.
Additional Comment:
And now I have Leviathan and my characters are at ~45 !
Also, apparently Square Enix is playing with us again:

Well, there is always the 25th anniversary in 2022 to wait for! :troll:
Now I travelled to the moon and Bahamut 1-Hit-KOs my whole party.

I wonder if it will be FF XIII-3
XIII-2 bucked the direct sequel trend created by X-2

I don't care much about XIII-3. If it comes out, I will get it, eventually, but I'm not finished yet with XIII-2 or IV-TCC. I hope for more updates about Versus, because it would be ridiculous if XIII-3 came out before Versus.

Go to this cave when you have FuSoYa and Rosa on the party. As quickly as you can, cast REFLECT on your most important party members (can use light curtain). The Megaflare will bounce back and hit Bahamut. He counter attacks melee attacks, so put Mirage on Edge before having him attack. (Unsure if he counter attacks Throw command...) Cecil can be used to revive fallen party members. Have Rydia use her best spells. Firaga works well.
